AAA needs to review who they allow to tow. Wind n Sea towing company in San Diego is rated F in the Better Business Bureau. The company is scamming AAA a customers by saying AAA doesn't cover that and that they need to pay out of pocket. The company also tows the cars to there site and holds there cars hostage until they pay. This was my experience with them. Adam Karam was supposed to be my AAA tow driver, but he decided that day he wanted to scam me instead. He called me as soon as I put in the tow request with AAA. He asked me what was wrong with the car, and I said it was leaking fluid. He said ok he’ll be there in two hours. Once he arrived, he told me AAA does not allow cars leaking fluid to be towed, which is false via AAA members handbook. He said he could tow it but would charge me $300 an hour to tow it. He said my insurance would cover it. He could’ve told me over the phone that I would have to pay out of pocket, but he didn’t. He wanted to take advantage of me. Luckily, I canceled it and had a friend pick me up. I highly encourage AAA customers while they are ordering a tow on the app or phone call to request that they DO NOT want wind n sea as their tow driver. If they arrive do not speak with them and cancel the tow and call AAA for a tow again.

DMV services. Out of state title and registration to be transferred to my name here in California. We are now well into 7 months since the initial process and my paperwork has been returned by the DMV 3x already- the DMV also will not tell you what all is wrong at once! First time, i wasn't charged enough for the black/yellow legacy tag. I was also a victim of title fraud and didn't have the newest title (not AAA-DMV's fault. i got investigators involved and got it sorted out pretty quickly). Mailed it all back- check and newest title. Second time, the inspection report was not completed by the AAA-DMV officer. Third time the inspection report listed incorrect vehicle type and the smog certificate was missing (the AAA office gave it back to me instead of mailing it in!). I now have to get a reinspection to verify the vehicle type and correct the paperwork. Just beware when using this office for NON-STANDARD DMV services. If it's a straight forward transaction, this AAA-DMV may do fine but if it's not (and unfortunately, you will not know ahead of time) they'll cause you a huge headache and will not be able to help correct the mess they've made.

My AAA membership is such a no brainer every year- there is always something that comes up a few times a year that would take us a full day at the DMV but is resolved in under ten minutes here- and that doesn’t even factor in the reassurance of roadside assistance! Everyone is helpful, there has never been a line, and they are very nice! Love this AAA location, thanks AAA Del Mar!

Everyone is so pleasant and helpful at this location. Got a membership and an international drivers permit, took less than 30 minutes.

UPDATE: I finally got a hold of someone on their customer support line and they asked me to verify my information before pulling up my account, but apparently they said that my address and phone number were incorrect? I've had the same address for 60 years and the same phone number for 30 years, how do you have the audacity to tell me that's not correct?! These people have no idea what they're doing! ORIGINAL: Their website doesn't accept my credit card when trying to purchase attraction tickets, and when you try to call this branch you get nothing but their virtual assistant. What happened to talking to a person? How am I supposed to use the benefits that I pay for by being a AAA member if their website doesn't make it possible? What a joke.

My husband was treated very rudely and unfairly by Shelly, the branch supervisor and others at this location a while back. One of the employees there was so distressed at how he was being treated that she went outside to her vehicle to decompress and was crying over the situation. It had us both so shocked and amazed that we eventually took our insurance needs with our 5 cars elsewhere and switched to Geico instead. Attempts to escalate the complaint were met with unsatisfactory results and inaction further up the ladder. Your loss AAA.

Helpful and friendly. Agents at this location are professional. Even though I live 30 minutes away, I'm willing to make the trip for this office.

Left 32-year members out in the cold Tonight, we had a flat tire. We didn't feel the need to worry because we had AAA. Boy, were we wrong. Instead of the caring company that people used to rely on for help when they needed it, AAA has become one more predatory organization that takes advantage of its loyal members when they need them most. Our little flat tire problem turned into a much bigger one, thanks to AAA. After ordering a service request through the automated system, we were quoted an hour to get a tow. That didn't happen. We called an hour and a half later. We were told they have one contractor with one driver for all of San Diego. They told us he had finished his last service and was on his way to us. They said he would arrive in 30 minutes. He did not arrive. I called and spoke to Jesenia. Aside from the virtual assistant, we placed the initial request through, she was the most caring. However, she confused us more. She said the driver that was supposedly free and on his way to us, wasn't. She said he was being held by the CHP. When we told her to cancel the service, she said: "Are you sure you don't want to wait a few minutes?" When I asked how that could be possible if he was being held by CHP, she had no answer. We canceled. So after waiting over 2 hours for nothing, we got a ride home and had to leave our car in the parking lot overnight. In the morning we will need to drive back to try to fix this issue. If our car is still there. The people that we spoke to showed the worst level of apathy and officiousness that I have ever experienced. Not one note of empathy or understanding. Just matter fact statement of policy. If AAA's goal is to create a membership of disappointed, angry members, they have trained their staff well.

Pleasant experience. Much better than DMV. I know it's a low bar, but this branch is really really friendly and professional
