Gelson's Del Mar is the largest location in San Diego. It is a gourmet grocery store, not a discount store, with a wide range of quality food, drinks, and other curated fresh goods. The store is nice, clean, and quiet, with ample parking. Premium installations include a Cheese Cart, Olive Cart, Hot Food Bar with great turkey chili, a Liquiteria Smoothie & Juice Bar, a Wine and Craft Beer Bar, a Seafood and Sushi Bar, and Wolfgang's build-your-own-pizza station. It also features Intelligentsia Coffee and a Market Pharmacy. The staff is remarkably helpful, courteous, friendly, competent, and professional, providing excellent service.
A bit pricey but it is California. Some really good items however and a clean/organized store.

Quiet, not busy, but had everything I needed and a good selection of quality products. Not a discount grocery store. 4 stars only because I rarely give 5 unless it was exceptional.
