“My senior dog sprite means the world to me. At her age, she started facing serious health issues that required expensive treatment/veterinary care I simply couldn’t afford on my own. I was devastated at the thought of losing my longtime companion.
I reached out to POMDR in desperation, and they came through when it mattered most. Their generous donation covered the critical care that allowed me to keep sprite alive and comfortable.
Thanks to their kindness and support, sprite is still here with me today — wagging her tail, enjoying her favorite spots, and getting the love and care she deserves in her golden years. This foundation didn’t just help with money; they gave us more precious time together.
I am forever grateful for their compassion and quick action. If you’re a pet parent facing impossible veterinary bills for a beloved senior dog, don’t hesitate to apply — they truly make a difference. Highly recommend supporting this foundation so they can continue helping families like mine.””
“Unexpectedly stopped by this SPCA in summer, 2009. Walked through the front door and immediately made eye contact with a small cat from 20+ feet away. Thyme, a precious calico mix who had been surrendered with her entire litter, went home with me that day. Thyme will be walking across the rainbow bridge this Friday after a long lifetime of cuddles, treats, sunshine, and love. It's been an amazing 16+ years with my little girl and I'm forever thankful to this organization. This review is for you, Monterey SPCA. Please know that, thanks to your organization, Thymbo has lived a long, full, and happy life. I'm not sure if either of us would still be here without that initial meeting. Thank you <3”

“My wife and I stumbled upon this gem of a place recently, and we're kicking ourselves for not finding it sooner! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with open arms by the incredibly friendly staff & veterans. The lunch atmosphere feels like a backyard BBQ, and the steaks and burgers have been cooked to perfection. We've been blown away by the quality of their lunches, and the prices are unbeatable compared to anything else in the area.I have to give a huge shoutout to Vicky, the bartender. She's an absolute sweetheart and takes pride in the place and the people. During our visit, we had a wonderful conversation with her and discovered that she, along with a few others, are volunteering their time and resources to fix and update the space.Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and unbeatable prices! We'll definitely be back soon.”

“This establishment hosted our yearly Bowling Awards dinner. I can see that this is a great community establishment where many events occur. The hall that we used sat around 70 people, with much more room for others. They have a full kitchen and bar. This place is normally a members-only establishment. Our event was a success and I would greatly recommend this establishment for others if they need space for events.”

“Gathering for Women provides not only hot meals, a hot shower, a place to receive mail, personal hygiene products, shoes, clothes, activities but, for me, most importantly a safe haven. The transition into homelessness is very difficult in so many ways body, mind and soul but to receive all of this 5 days a week is like a balm to my fears as I attempt to figure out what's next in my life. To that end Gathering for Women has partnered me with a beautiful, compassionate and kind case manager. She's helping me to find my footing and eager to help me along my path back to self-sufficiency. All she hopes is that I am willing to do the work, to show up for myself and actively seek to stand on my own again. She makes me want to give her reason to keep hoping; to believe that working together we can ease the struggle of this chapter in my life and move forward into the next. I would have given 5 stars but for 2 reasons. One is that some volunteers and staff in my opinion are there for the wrong reasons and need to ask themselves if it's community recognition and power that should motivate them to help women in my situation or kindness, compassion and respect. Secondly I personally disagree with allowing male volunteers at the facility and would only allow women volunteers. Oh, and lastly a big ask... Please consider donating not only dog food but cat food as well.”

Helpful and engaged they are an excellent resource for businesses interested in the area. They also oversee the popular Tuesday Farmers Market and have information on current and upcoming events.

“We were waiting to pick up a headboard to drive back to some friends in SLO, and got to check out this fun park for kids. A few teenagers skateboarded by while we walked around, obviously enjoying the place. It was a cold drizzly January day, so not too many people here partaking of the air, but several walking around and enjoying the exercise. There is a pool, playground swings and equipment, a community room, and a little park-like area with a big parking lot. The headboard owners showed up and their young son hop, skipped and jumped over to the park to enjoy it, with his Dad in tow. They said that there is going to be a huge pool built soon and the facilities will be updated. Fun place to pause on our way back to SLO.”
“Cindy the manager is amazing. She really blessed my family this past holiday season and with the help of Wally, they made sure we were extra set to have happy holidays. I'm forever grateful to the staff at St. Vincent de Paul who are genuinely making a difference in people lives, because it was definitely a difference in mine. “This exact boys and girls club changed my life! I went to this club when I was a child. It was the only escape from the life I was living. I wish I could remember who ran it back in the mid 80’s but he was wonderful and kind and looked out for me and my little brother. We were able to see what normal looked like and what life could be when we grew up. I can’t tell you enough how this place saved me and my brother Daniel. Thank you ?”
“Glad we got a chance to visit here and shop here. I got a cute sweater, skirt, well 2 sweaters and they're comfortable also and timeless! Ladies were really friendly and the guy at the front is very nice! Everyone here including the Filipino guy singing and dancing. Would come here again! Great selection of cute items that are classy and simple.”

This office as a whole is a struggle at times to deal with when it comes to the long lines and NOT fully understanding why I can hear everybody's business through the speaker ? (shouldn't this be a personal violation) when asking questions to the attendant window!!
But where would we/I be if this office didn't exist so close locally..... next closest place Salinas.”
“They are amazing at helping people. The salvation helps people with rent or need a place to stay or gives food boxes, and helps out during christmas with toys by giving big bags of toys to people that sign up for or that need that for there kids. It is amazing what they do for the community.”
“We were having car troubles, the plastic underneath the front of the car was dragging and we just needed to cut it off. They were the only building nearby and it was 15 minutes before close. I went in and both of the women in there were extremely helpful and kind and provided scissors that we were able to use. No clue how they are for supporting businesses but they are so kind and so helpful. We're so grateful.”

We regularly send our free laundry patrons for the myriad of services provided by Interim. The needs of many of Momterey homeless and those with mental health care needs would go uncared for without Interim.”
