I had the daily special today: Japanese Chicken Katsu Curry with a side of vegetable egg rolls. It was so good! Their smoothies are also excellent. Very friendly and prompt staff. Thank you!

First time here and definitely coming back. Ordered breakfast burritos to go and they were delish. Thought they only accept cash from previous reviews but they take cards. Going back next week as it conveniently located to my home office and has great views. Staff was friendly and accommodating

Your basic government agency cafe. Pretty good food, affordable and not much else around for at least half a mile. $5 minimum for credit cards.

Cash only. Workplace cafeteria. The food is actually really good! I work nearby, so I go here often. Prices are reasonable. My favorite is the cobb salad. They'll make it anyway you want, and its pretty good size. My only complaint is that refills on soda aren't free, but as a workplace cafeteria, i could see that it could be abused if they were.

Ok, so this is clearly a corporate building cafeteria, but it was featured during Diamond Bar Restaurant Week, so we decided to check it out. It's located inside the Dept of Air Quality, so while you feel like you're intruding on a company culture by dining here, it does have some redeeming qualities. First, you'll notice immediately when you walk in the sweeping 180° view of the hills of Walnut and San Gabriel mountains (and the 57/60 freeway interchange). Secondly, the food. We had breakfast which had a decent selection, a daily special, and good value. The pancakes, breakfast sandwich, and bacon were all good. The scrambled eggs were so-so on their own, but you can order them any way you like. The salsa is legit. Cash only. If the menu was available elsewhere I might be here all the time. But since it's inside a corporate building, I'd like to come back but probably won't come often. But if you have an electric car and are looking for a charge, this might just be the place to stop as there are ample plugs in the parking lot.

I got their breakfast burrito here, and it is pretty darn good at the price that they sell it for. This place is the cafeteria for the SCAQMD building, so the environment might make you think their food tastes bad. The seating is also old, and their cleaning materials might make the place smell kind of musty. But so far, I haven't had any food that tastes bad. I might need to try more stuff to see if their other stuff is bad. I like how they post the lunch menu for what the cafe will have throughout the week. That way, you can plan your lunches.

It is a work cafeteria for the most part, so they have a decent food and beverage selection for the few hundred people they serve. Open Tuesday thru Friday, Aqmd work days. Staff is friendly. Cash only.

*CASH ONLY - ATM available at lobby* If you are here, then it will be due to the following reasons: * You are too lazy to drive * You are stuck at the SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) building * You work around the area (within walking distance to SCAQMD building) Blue Sky Cafe is a small cafeteria located inside of SCAQMD building. You will find a salad bar, hot food station, and deli station. Deli station includes regular sandwiches, wraps, and grilled sandwiches (e.g. grilled cheese, tuna melt, etc). Basically, this is your typical cafeteria that you'll find in any government agency buildings. Blue Sky Sub (Ham, Turkey, Avocado, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato - $5.39): I had wheat breads and both pieces of bread were really dry. Other than dry breads, it was still a really pedestrian sandwich. (2.5/5) 2-star on sandwich, but bump up to 3-star due to their comfortable / spacious cafeteria seating area and strong free Wi-Fi signal. P.S. - Breakfast is available at 7 AM. Please see the website for the weekly special menu (

Entrees: Hot meals are good because they are generally on the "healthier" side, with very little grease, medium portion of meat, a carb (usually rice or noodles), and a decent helping of steamed vegetables or salad. This meal is perfect for the working man who doesn't want to spend too much time deciding what to eat or where to go while maintaining a somewhat healthy diet. The meal comes out to $7 even without a drink. I recommend getting a glass, filling it with ice, and getting some water in the sitting area. The grill items, like burgers, sandwiches, etc, are ok but I'm not sure they're worth the price. The taste is only ok and if you're looking for these types of burgers, you'd might as well go to Colima Burger a few blocks down. Soup and Salad: The times where I got the side salad along with my hot meal, I would have to say that I'm not impressed with their salad selection, but then again, I'm not a salad expert. I just eat it because it came with the meal. The soups are served in a small cup, similar to subway's individual soup. I have yet to try any of their soups, but from what I hear, they're not bad. Beverages and Dessert: They have a soda fountain, but you are not allowed to have refills, which really hurts the whole cafeteria experience, but I guess we shouldn't be drinking too much soda anyways. They also have canned beverages (soda, ice tea) as well as some misc ice cream bars in a sitting freezer. Their water tastes good, but not cold at all. Ambiance: Always quiet atmosphere with friendly/sociable staff. The cafeteria seating area itself is a good place to work while eating, or have a nice conversation with your coworkers/friends. There is ALWAYS plenty of seating inside/outside. Amenities: There are 2 microwaves for patron use, as well as napkins, plastic forks, spoons, and knives for those who forgot to bring them from home. General Thoughts: I like coming here if I want a healthier meal and don't want to stand in front of a menu for 5 minutes, deciding what to order. Because their menu is constantly cycling, it's hard to get sick of any of their food.
