Tashi is so wonderful! She is amazing at working with all kinds of curls. I have loose curls, a little bit of hair and it's thin. She does a great job at discussing what look you are trying to get and making it work for your hair type. She is also very kind and makes you feel comfortable with the process. ☺️

It's been a few years since my first and last cut from this hair salon. I was excited to get my haircut from a professional who I thought would possess better communication skills and professionalism. First of all, they offer no trim. It's a full haircut with a full price even you just want your ends cut or reshape/freshen up layers. I saved up money and went in their with pictures for my inspirations. I respected Tashi's opinion that what I wanted was slightly out of reach considering my hair was not long enough to achieve the desired look. But she showed me a picture with shorter hair but very similar shape which I agreed to get. I made sure to tell her I'd like to keep my length as much as possible and just add layers to give more volume. I should've said something when I saw a chunk of hair she cut out, but she's a professional right? More than the unnecessary amount of hair cut out of my head which left me with my hair shorter above my chin, this lady made me walk out of her salon WITH WET HAIR. WITHOUT DRYING, NOT EVEN TOWEL DRYING. WITH DRIPPING WET HAIR. still paid full price with a tip. I know she didn't dry my hair, because that would further shrink my hair. It was such a humiliating, disappointed experience that traumatize me to not go to a hair salon that charges me hundreds of dollars just for a simple haircut just to be left with whatever the heck I was left with. It took me 3 years for me to feel comfortable with my grown out hair, and took me much longer to write this review, thinking I should give her the benefit of the doubt. I still think she's kind and skilled, but she could have provided me with a bit more of care and service. I'm sorry, but I'm never coming back again to this salon.

I have no idea why it took me so long to write this review! After working in the Hollywood area, and going to various stylists - I have finally found my true home. Tashi is so talented, professional, and has such a positive spirit, I was hooked after the consultation. She really does care for your natural hair. After going to so many "celebrity" stylists, Tashi is the one who is bringing my natural hair back to life with these protective styles. I've seen some reviews regarding transparency, however, it literally tells you when you book the appointment the amount listed is the starting price. Once you are in her chair and she understands what needs to be done, that is the time to ask about what everything will cost. Not at the consult. I've paid $$$'s more with Hollywood stylists and their ala carte pricing system than I've ever paid with Tashi. I recommend her to everyone who is looking for a skilled and thoughtful beautician. You will not be disappointed.

I hadn't been to a hair salon in years. Tasha is so kind a sweet. Plus, I love my haircut! She did an awesome job. My hair looks fuller and all those split ends are gone. Yay for Tashi.

I met Tashi about 1 year ago after looking for a braider to help with hair health. My hair was damaged and needed a break and I had worn braids in the past with success. Tashi introduced me to crochet braiding along with the various styles and textures, and let's just say I took her recommendation and haven't turned back! She gave me a look that was a much-needed upgrade that also maintained my hair health. I was scared at first because I only knew individual braids, but this style worked perfect. And when I took the braids down recently my own hair was long, soft and healthy. UNBELIEVABLE! Tashi is great to work with - strongly recommend Tashi for the best crochet braiding.

Tashi is the literal hair whisperer!!! Her 20+ years experience and hair education just shine through. I'm so glad I found her. I have been going to salons that didn't understand my hair. I have finally found a true professional hair artist. To begin, the website has a comprehensive and fully transparent list of all her services she provides. You are sent email and text message confirmations and reminder texts before your appointment. Her salon is beautiful. When you walk in you are promptly greeting by Tashi, a welcoming and sweet angel of a woman. She radiates positivity and love. Tashi begins by asking you all about your hair; products used, how you have cared for your hair and what you are hoping to achieve. I was amazed at how she was able to educate me, she really wanted to share her knowledge. After Tashi finished cutting my hair I was in disbelief. She cut and styled my hair beautifully! I have never seen my hair properly cut and styled for my hair type. I have never been happier. Before I left, she gave me all the information on products and instructions on how to properly care for my hair. A big plus was she didn't push $200 products. In these times, I appreciated that. If you have been looking for a hair artist who loves their job and truly want to make people look as beautiful as they feel, make your appointment!!! You will NOT be disappointed! Tashi's work is impeccable, to say the least.

Waited a while to post this as I really wanted to live my hair and have the price be worth it but unfortunately it is not. I've been looking for curly haired specialists for a long time and was encouraged by the good reviews. The haircut is nice I'll say that but I did not appreciate the lack of transparency about the price. I knew it would be an expensive cut and was quoted the $150 per the email. We completed the consult, told her the last girl did not do a good job and it was obvious. She goes to work and at the end tells me "your total for today is $300". I thought it was a joke and was told "since I had to fix the bad haircut that's the extra cost. I never know when to tell clients about the price increase". Well you tell them at the consult portion. I was frustrated. Also if you charge that much I expect upgraded products to be used. Not ones that I was told could be found at TJMaxx. Like I said decent haircut but I could never go back based on lack of transparency. Please be sure to confirm full pricing before the cut.

I had a great experience with Tashi. I've never had a proper haircut for my straight/wavy hair before. So glad I found this gem. She also did a great job explaining to me the proper steps of how to care for my hair as well as send me a list of products that I can use to maintain my hair's health. I gained so much knowledge talking to her about it and I've come to understand my hair better. She's also very considerate and worked around my budget as well as scheduled to give me a haircut on her day off! Thank you Tashi. Can't wait to see you again in a few months and show my hairs' progress.

The website advertises her as a Trichologist, my primary reason for choosing this salon..to get some extensions to fill in some lost volume due to TE. I spoke & texted w/ Tashi at length regarding what I was seeking, "just a few tracks to fill in some lost volume and add a little length" she replied she could accommodate. What I went in for and what I left with were 2 different things. Midway thru the install she said the only way to accommodate what we originally agreed to was to add significantly more hair. I was already in the chair and there was no turning back so I agreed. While she was installing, the braids were painfully tight and I indicated this more than once, only to have her respond with "you must be very tender headed." When all was said and done I left, and paid for, a 3/4 head weave. This was a far cry from what I originally came in for, but be that as it may- I trusted her. The very next morning I realized this was far beyond what I could manage. I contacted her to see if we could make adjustments, as the hair was much too tight & heavy & way too much hair for me; nor was the style to my liking, there were three step layers to my haircut. I recv'd a bunch of CYA responses from her indicating that it was not her fault things had turned out this way-in other words I should've known what I was getting into. I wasn't trying to play the blame game, I was trying to work together to fix this, as she said after the install. I was relying on her professional assistance and to alleviate the pain throughout my entire scalp, as well as the non-stop headache I had since I left her shop. As someone who specializes in hair loss I would think she'd know better than to braid my hair so tight that my scalp would start to bleed at the edges. To my surprise, Tashi said she was unavailable to meet me for the next 8 days! This in spite of a very respectful exchange we were having. I told her that I couldn't wait that long..that the pain was too much. I said she could just take them out so as not to take any more of her time, hoping she'd possibly meet me afterhours to accommodate. Instead, she informed me that she "used a dark brown thread so that if you or someone had to cut them out" we'd know where to look, because she still wouldn't see me for another 8 days. I couldn't understand why she refused to set aside some time after I paid almost $500 for a service that was causing me such pain & disappointment. I ultimately found somebody to redo certain rows until I could get into my stylist, which cost me another $50. I contacted Tashi and let her know that I found somebody to adjust the braids and that I would not need the appt. I asked her for a partial refund to cover the service I had to seek to adjust the braids that were bleeding, because she would not make herself available for the next 8 days. She refused to accommodate me in any way shape or form, indicating that a certain level of discomfort is to be expected, because of this she will not issue a refund. 4 days later I was able to get in to my stylist who removed 10 rows double wefted hair sewn into tightly braided hair on my already sensitive scalp. This cost me another $100. It was at that time I realized not only did this unfortunate visit to Tashi's Hair Studio cost me hundreds of dollars & significant pain for days (my scalp still hurts), but she also cut my hair to match the weave, and she cut so much that I had no choice but to get an extremely short haircut once they were removed. The irony of it all is that as someone who is experiencing hair loss due to health problems, and depleted confidence as result..all I wanted was a little extra length & volume. I wound up with a short haircut after all was said and done. Now I feel worse than before. It really saddens me that I experienced this, and it saddens me even more that Tashi was not inclined to guarantee her work, regardless of whether the pain is expected on a "normal basis," as a professional

I thought long and hard about leaving this review, as I am all about small businesses and really want to see black-owned businesses thrive. I ultimately decided that I'm not leaving this review for myself, or Tashi for that matter - but rather for the next person who might decide to seek her services. Wanted to love my cut but upon closer inspection when I got home, I noticed it was very uneven (picture included) and I think this is very unfortunate considering I payed $150. Not to mention my appointment which I had booked a month in advance, was pushed back half an hour and I was notified 45 minutes before my appointment, when I was already on my way.

I've never cut my curly hair in the 22 years of my life-- so you better believe how much damage there was! But I'm so glad I came here. Tashi really knows how to care for curly hair and she will take the time to educate you to help you keep a head full of healthy hair! I am in love with my curls and am so glad I chose this studio!

Ah-mazing experience! Tashi is a profession!! She cut and colored my natural curly hair and she's an expert in curly and textured hair. She's so easy to talk to and her salon is clean and organized. Will definitely go to her again.
