This review is for the gentlemen that was working curbside alone this evening and for him only! I didn't catch his name, maybe Nate? I called to check status on my curbside order because it was running a bit late, he was extremely apologetic and offered to pack mine next. I found out he was working in this department ALONE with a high volume of orders. I can only assume that involves at the very least picking them, labeling and storing and also running them out?? This guy deserves a raise and some help!!!

Using Delivery, this store is unable to deliver reliably. So you pay extra for 1-hour window and they don't deliver at all!!! And they seem to not understand what the problem is if you call in for fresh-pass support. They seem to have a disconnect between Alberton's (The parent company) and the Safeway store in Discovery Bay, CA which manages delivery services. I would not and can not recommend them for delivery services. The store itself seems OK of course. But the delivery is horrible and to take it a step further they use DoorDash to deliver, so if something goes wrong they offer to not tip the driver. (!) How is the DD driver at fault if Safeway messes up the order or the schedule? It's just pretty awful how they manage this particular store for Fresh Pass delivery. If you live in the area, you may want to try one of the other store delivery options in the area. I unfortunately paid for a year of delivery on a discount so I need to let it run out before I can switch. It's just awful, and I needed to vent and 'yelp' about it.

Seems like a reasonably nice safe way. Plenty of parking. Filthy bathroom. Convenient location. Nothing special but nothing exceptionally out of line.

Just got great customer service from Gio in the deli department. He was friendly and told me about a sale I was unaware of so I was able to save a little money. Keep up the good work!

Food and service here was very bad. Always over charge on coupons items. Sorry this is the only option here in DB. They really don't care.

UNSAFE Food Don't go here if you don't want food poisoning. Tried to return the non expired moldy cheese they sold me and already expired when I bought it cream cheese they couldn't help me place has gone down hill we pay higher prices here you would think the service would be at least ok

I walked up to the pharmacy counter to look for some medicine for my 12 year old daughter. I stood in front of Pharmacy personnel for a couple of minutes and was never even acknowledged that I was there. I walked around the area there hoping I could find some Medication for my daughter's cold and came back to the desk and still was not acknowledged. The person behind the counter looked a little busy. A simple "I will be right with you" would have been enough to not feel ignored. Recommend customer service training.

My wife was in line at the deli inside Safeway. The deli clerk was helping a customer. When she was done, she turned to my wife and said, "Sorry, we're closed." I asked the clerk what time did they close and she said 8:30. It was 8:20. I informed her of the time, to which she responded, "We're cleaning up early. We are short staffed." She refused to assist us, even though she had assisted another customer just before. I don't know if it was the pigment of our skin, or just plain laziness, but it is unacceptable. I contacted the manager and informed him of the occurrence. He agreed that we should have been assisted. He did not make any attempt to rectify the situation or provide us with any assistance. Terrible service by both parties.

This location is unable or unwilling to enforce the mask mandate that they post on their door. I am fully vaccinated and masked so it isn't about me. I feel for the employees who have to stand there for eight hours. If you are one of the many I see shopping without a mask. Think of the employees, many who are kids and put your "beliefs" aside for 15 minutes and show a little respect and appreciation for someone else. The Brentwoood locations have no problem maintaining 100% compliance

Couldn't make a sandwich to save their lives. Waited 15 minutes to receive a sloppy mess with barely any meat on it and a whole head of lettuce No thank you

I went to get a sandwich before boating and the lady making my sandwich didn't ask me if I wanted it toasted or not, was so slow making the sandwich, and her gloves were ripped while making the sandwich, she even pulled her strap up while making my sandwich, a guy told her to put a glove on at the beginning. It was like watching paint dry, I could have made my sandwich faster and better. To add to it there were three guys in front of me with no mask on, why is no one Ku Kung them out? The lady also messed up with the barcode, I wanted one sandwich and I got double charged.

I tried calling Safeway Deli to order a sandwich ahead of time, so I can just drive in and pick it up. I have been on hold for 15 mins and have yet been able to get a hold of someone in Deli department. It seems to play hold music for 5 mins then ring, then pickup and put me on hold again for 5 mins then ring and pickup and put me on hold. Finally got through, the person I spoke with was very pleasant and upbeat. I placed my oder and told me should be ready in 10 mins. We'll see how this goes, but trying to get through to deli took forever. would be nice if you can place your deli sandwich order online and not have to call.
