I just tried calling to verify that they were open and no answer. Good way to lose overnight customers.

I've been coming here since I was 9 years old. There has always been really sweet and nice people on staff. Kind of like the small town feel like you're welcome. I have come by a few times in the past 2 months and have never even been greeted with a "hello" at the counter. Did they all get a frontal lobotomy? Or are they just that afraid of women? If I were Michael I would find anyone with any personality immediately instead of letting these rejects be the "welcoming" face of your store. They make me feel like a complete burden at best. Gross customer service. I would rather talk to my wall.

This place is now called "Michael's Market" and it currently sells Shell branded gas. Years ago this was a Valero station w/ a food shop. I don't come out to Discovery Bay too much anymore, but I stopped by for some gas and snacks on a Monday evening. Michael's Market is like a convenience store (c-store), but it's loaded with beer, wine and tobacco items. It has a fountain area and wide variety of snacks and candy. For awhile it was the only neighborhood shop around. But now the Discovery Bay shopping center is right next door. Yes, I saw the Confederate flag. But the clerk was friendly and helpful. I was wearing my work uniform w/ ID. People with jobs usually have money to spend. Michael's Market is a well stocked c-store that can save you a trip down the road to the Safeway shopping center. Shell gas prices were about average for the SF Bay Area. Located on the corner of Discovery Bay Blvd & Riverlake Rd.

The cashier with the confederate flag was being racist to a customer. Not cool.

It's a real confederate flag/rich white people only type place. The workers got tattoos of it and the back room has one hung up

I love Michael's Market. They are right down the street from my house so I go there a lot to get essentials. They have a great selection of everyday items. I love that they carry flour, sugar, eggs, milk and so forth. I do half my grocery shopping there to avoid going to the Safeway. They will even carry wine brands that you suggest and other items. I love their selection of candy as well. I have a pretty big sweet tooth. I usually walk there to get my stuff since they are so close. I especially like their milkshake machine. Just pick your flavor and the machine mixes you a yummy milk shake! It's faster than waiting for a milk shake at Callahan's and just as yummy! It is really so much better than a normal gas station store. It's more like a NY bodega. The owner also slowly filtered out all the "old" employees that worked in the store from before he purchased it. The old employees were kinda rude, mouthy and never wore masks. I literally watched one of them b**** out a customer just for asking her why she was not wearing a mask at the height of COVID. I was so happy to see ALL those people let go for people who were compliant with masks and not so entitled. Great little shop. I will continue to go there in the future.

Use to like this place but the new hires are frustrating. Britany with the nose ring pays more attn to her phone than customers. When she isn't talking on her phone she is talking to friends in the store and while getting into conversation she slams down your items. I do like what they have done to the store just note the new employees. Even my husband has complaints of them using their phones and not paying attention.

Been a resident for almost 30 years in the beginning the changes were phenomenal, however "dash" will no longer be my go to due to the inflation of gas prices and the over use of the word "honey" anytime I go inside the actual store

When it comes to a gas station with a convenience store, this place is great and only getting better. Tons of munchies and snacks, good liquor selection, great craft beer choices, you can make your own 4 pack, they also keep some of your basic groceries, milk and eggs etc. all the staff that I've met have been really friendly, glad to have this place around for sure
