My favorite shopping place

Linda and Leah are the absolute best. Linda has placed numerous calls to our pediatricians and insurance offices in order to help my son get his medications. She never makes me feel dumb for asking a question and is ALWAYS going above and beyond. Leah is quick to answer questions regarding illness and medications. We love our Safeway pharmacy staff. Most of all, I know my kids will get their medications quickly because the staff here is so caring.

This pharmacy staff is incompetent. It take weeks to get a prescription filled and they are constantly running out of medication, there is no follow up on anything. Constantly dropping the ball. Terrible service. Very messy and unorganized.

Anything perishable YOU NEED TO CHECK THE DATES ON! If it's refrigerated CHECK THE DATES! Bread CHECK THE DATES! This Safeway will sell items past the posted "Best by" or "Use by" dates.

The young blonde female cashier is totally arrogant and dismissive, not to mention rude and incompetent. Overcharged me, then denied that she did. I had to prove it to her while others in line waited. Unbelievable! When she realized she was wrong, she didn't apologize. Instead, she told me to take my issue over to the manager's desk to be resolved. He was rude and condescending. I took my refund, left my groceries, and walked out! Miserable!

Why does it take so long to get a deli sandwich? And why do the employees act like they hate their jobs so much? Lastly, why is a sandwich $20?!?

This place is crazy busy at least the store is. I purchased a home in Rio Vista I love the area but I have to drive a good 19 miles to any convince. I loved my Safeway pharmacy in Roseville but there was no way I could keep driving 2 hours ti get my medications! I called this Safeway and spoke with the pharmacist Dale and told him I has some issues with one of my medication and wanted to switch to this pharmacy y and keep all my vaccination records and medical records just transferred and if they could do that and told him when u would be picking up my medications in the following days. He was very helpful and friendly. There was some confusion when I got there and my medication wasn’t ready but it was my first time there so things happen ya know. But when I went to leave I said nice to meet everyone and trey all said nice to meet you too Suzette made me feel welcomed !!! Thank you Dale & all the staff for making me feel like a local now and there kind help. This will be my pharmacy from now on! :-))

*** This is more of a tip than a review*** I live by the Mayfair fairgrounds/ Dixon HS so I'm not too far from Safeway. I went to pick up my cake which was ready and sitting out on the baking rack, waiting to be boxed. If you order a buttercream frosted cake and the weather is above 80*, bring a cooler or something to put the cake in on the ride home because blasting A/C and pointing all vents towards the passenger seat will not help. Unfortunately, the $27.99 cake did not survive the 10 minute ride home. I decided to "just go with it" because what else could I have done at this point? Would refrigerating it have let the frosting stiffen up more before pick up? Maybe. The cake was beautiful when I initially saw it. Although the cake wasn't aesthetically pleasing after the ride home, the taste was still on point. Overall, the store is clean and the customer service has been professional. There's barely any fresh seafood in the meat department- most of the seafood can be found in the freezer section. Sometimes, stock can be hit or miss but I consider that more of a supply chain / availability issue.

It's a fine supermarket. Stupid gas station is usually closed. I don't live in Dixon, i time the stop. Close the gas station permanently or keep it open by but the mystery status is annoying.

This review is for the incompetent management, not the store itself. I've been to this store many times and had no issues until now, thus an extra star.On Tuesday 4/25/2023 I put $20 into the CA Lottery Machine located at this store. First I pressed the $5 Poker scratcher on the touch screen, but the ticket did not come out. Figured these tickets were sold out, so I pressed another $5 scratcher and nothing came out again. Thinking that the third time was the charm, I pressed for a different ticket and got one $5 scratcher. Assuming I still have $15 left, I tried going for a different scratcher, only to be notified I have only $5 left. So in case you are not following; I was charged for the tickets I did not get. At that point, I went to the register and asked someone to come help with the machine malfunction. A younger gentleman came out a few minutes later and had a hard time understanding what I was trying to explain to him. The machine charged $10 for tickets I did not get. It should really not be hard to comprehend. He kept on telling me how I only have $5 left and that's all he could refund. Finally, after explaining for 5th time, he seemed to get it and said he would talk to someone and told me to wait there by the machine.15 minutes (!) later, he comes out with someone (who I presume would be his supervisor) and they both start explaining that I only have $5 left and that they will give me back $5, but a person who handles the lottery is not there and how she will call me the next day. They asked me to write my name and number on Post-It (LOL), and Shanice (sorry if I didn't get the name right) will call me on Wednesday. Reluctantly, I took my $5 leftover and gave them the benefit of the doubt. 5 days later, no one reached out-as suspected. Since neither of the two staff I dealt with left me their contact info or gave their names, there is no one I can turn to. The Safeway website does not list the store manager's email or phone number.I hate leaving bad reviews for local businesses, but this one left a bitter taste in my mouth. It is obvious that the customer does not come first here and the staff is in need of some serious training on how to handle situations like these. I will not go broke because of lost $10, but I will surely be more careful when using automated systems at this store from now on.

A great place to have curbside pickup if you want expired food. A recent order had not one but two items that had expired. One that day and one that was over a week old.Trying to reach a human that gives a @#%@ about the quality of their customer service is another not fun experience.I won't use their pickup again, if you shop in person at least you could see if it's expired. Better choice drive to a Nugget Market that has good service, good quality and is local.

I'm only complaining about the lack of customer service I received from a cashier named Kira that checked me out today when I visited the store. When it was my turn for Kira to ring me out, she didn't greet me and she didn't seem very friendly. The young lady that bagged my groceries was very friendly and I only wish I could have gotten her name to say thank you. When Kira completed my transaction, I thanked her and the nice young lady for for the service given and Kira said nothing to me yet again but the young lady thanked me and wished me a happy weekend. As I was walking away, I heard Kira speak and say hello to the customer behind me. I've been coming to this Safeway for over 20 years and have always felt welcomed.

This review is strictly for the Deli department. I have been going to this grocery store since 2017, the staff has been great but the deli staff. First, it was one lady who would ignore you for a good 10-20 mins. before helping, I figured it was because she was short-staffed. After my other encounters and listening to my mother's encounters and now seeing from my own eyes I see that the older ladies in the deli have a problem with colored people. They are unprofessional and rude and Safeway should be ashamed to have such disrespectful people on their team.

I have been ordering cakes for years at this Safeway and even though they had made minor mistakes in the past I kept giving chances because I get it we all make mistakes! But on Sunday I called to see if the cake was ready and once they put the cake decorator in she was immediately snappy with a major attitude and argued with me that I didn't ask for anything specific and the cake was DONE! She spoke with me about the cake the week prior, and knew what I wanted, and then on the day of pick up played stupid, and said we never spoke lol! Mind you she has been decorating my cakes for years and always says oh yea I know you! I know what you want! lol Needless to say she ruined my day the cake was so sad, I still can't believe it and what makes it worse is she argued with me! I had her on speakerphone and 3 other people listening couldn't believe it! So disappointed to say the least!!! never again lost my 8 years of business! Below is the cake! I HAVE NEVER ordered a plain birthday cake! I expected rosettes at the least and she didn't even write happy birthday!

People here are genuinely nice and the bathrooms are super clean! Per usual, this Safeway also partners with Wells Fargo for your banking needs. I like how people are working hard to keep this place tidy. But if there's nothing left to do - don't feel pressured to "pretend" to work. Breaks are necessary for efficiency.
