The Downey City Library is a great community resource located next to the Downey Theater. It offers many things, from free sewing classes and a small recording studio to 3D model making machines. They have laptops, charging cables, and study rooms that can be rented. Staff are often described as friendly, wonderful, and knowledgeable, making visitors feel special, though there is a rare mention of a staff member being rude. The facilities are generally top notch, but the restrooms are noted as not so clean. A past issue with limited free WiFi hours appears resolved. The library's hours have improved, though noise in some areas can be a distraction for studying. It remains a favorite place for many, offering free books and diverse resources.
We visited Downey library to see their Carpenters exhibit. Staff member Andy was delighted to share with us his knowledge about its curation, and made us feel like we were very special visitors. Thank you, Andy, for our making our visit the highlight of our Carpenters pilgrimage to Downey. You are a great asset to the library.

Cool library all though I only went to use the restroom. It’s easy to find the restrooms but the restrooms aren’t so clean.
