I had never spoken to, applied with or done business with this credit union. However, they ran a hard inquiry on my credit without my consent. This is highly illegal under FCRA. When contacted about this, they essentially said we can’t help you, talk to the credit bureaus. I am now in a long drawn out process to dispute their illegal behavior.

The parking is excellent, and the customer service is outstanding! The interior is tidy and well-arranged. However, I must rate them lower due to the absence of a customer restroom, which is unacceptable. It's puzzling that they don't provide this basic amenity. Whoever is responsible for facilities management should improve this aspect. They should make this change immediately as there are lots of elderly people who go to the bank and or people with children.

The service has really gone down in the last couple of years. Also they hold deposits and push bill withdrawals so you end up owing them 25 dollars. I use to think the credit union was the way to go but they are just as hungry as the other guys.

I enjoy banking with this convenient location. The tellers are always attentive, personal and eager to help. Recently, I had a special financial transaction I wanted to do in which I had to make an appointment with a specialist. She made a comment and said "I recall reading an email where I can actually do this for you..." This was added information she gave me that was going to save me so much time and effort to complete the transaction. She asked if I had a few minutes for her to confirm it. She found the correspondence, researched it in a special book she pulled out, confirmed it and got approval with the manager to do the transaction. I couldn't believe how happy she made me! So glad I said goodbye to the big bank Nextdoor!!

Zero stars if I could . This has happened more than once , but when I call to speak to a representative by the name of Alex or Alejandro , he is rude , impatient , and cuts me off When I am speaking . I've been to the branch and has the same demeanor . He is very weary of female clients when it comes to asking questions about their own account they might share with someone else . I just realized this is very consistent . Why would Southland continue to hold such an employee in their branch ??

I've been a Southland Credit Union member since 2018 and from day one the service has always been top notch. All the tellers have always been friendly, courteous, fast and accurate. Rodrigo Estrada has always been efficient, friendly and courteous and has treated me and all the other customers with respect. I would definitely recommend Southland Credit Union to anyone who is looking for a friendly, efficient and customer focused bank since it's very hard to find financial institutions these days who are still looking out for the customer.

I stop by a couple days ago to get information about getting a loan; all my questions were answered by Edgar who was very attentive and informative. He was able to help me what will be best for me! Overall customer service was very pleasant and I will be coming back to start my process! Thank you!

If you're going to do business with SCU, avoid the Los Alamitos branch. The employees are AMAZING, but unfortunately the manager at the Los Alamitos branch is a poor and embarrassing representation of 20+ years of amazing customer service that has kept our family with SCU for so long.While my mother--who like all of my family, has accounts at SCU--was in hospice, this ignorant, rude manager could not have been more insensitive and in fact, made some very inappropriate and inaccurate comments regarding my mother. In addition, he internally processed a transaction that, while entirely legal, was executed with zero communication prior--which is exactly the type of VULGAR and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior that is typical from this horrible excuse for a human being that they allow to function in a management position.Any other representative of SCU would have, and has always, been responsible, ethical and professional and handled family illnesses over the years with sensitivity--something that the Los Al manager is entirely incapable of, as he is nothing but offensive, vulgar, and the reason I will soon be closing all of my accounts and advising my family members to do the same.It's actually quite appalling how business during my mother's illness was handled by this professionally and socially deficient individual--not because anyone expects better from him, but because EVERYONE ELSE at SCU is so opposite. He is not only insensitive to a family going through a painful and difficult time, but seemed to enjoy making things even more difficult.20+ years of amazing service has been erased by his rude, grossly unprofessional, and inconsiderate actions, and has sent a very clear message that my family is NOT valued at SCU, but instead just amusement for this angry, petty little man's need to be malicious.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The staff was extremely rude when I called. Not to mention that all online systems were down and I no longer live in the area so I had to drive 2 hours to go in. I spoke to two representatives on the phone. The first one cut me off before I could finish explaining my issue and the second one was getting frustrated with me for no reason. I'm new to this bank but I'm for sure closing my account after this. I was nothing but nice with them and tried to give all information possible that would help them but they were extremely rude.
