Ignore any negative reviews. I find in life sometimes people think they deserve respect when they haven't been respectful. I have had the best experience at orchid salon. Nyeisha is on time, she has excellent knowledge about hair care and how to keep hair healthy. She is always very professional and gives me feedback about my hair each time I go. I naturally have very fine thin hair. I've had challenges with keeping it full, long and healthy my whole life. Since I've been going to Nyeisha for the past year my hair has been fuller, longer and healthier than it's ever been. She also gives an excellent cut. I get compliments on the hair cuts she gives everywhere I go. She's worth every penny of what I spend in her salon. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Visited Orchid to get my hair done. The place is seriously a vibe, great company, good times, good laughs and I left feeling confident with my hair whipped to the God's! For those looking for a REAL hair stylist that does all the things including an OUTSTANDING shampoo. GO THERE!! It's sad reading prior reviews that honestly sound like a problem that unfortunately most black women face and that's the expectation of a song and dance for one's business. It's sad that people will bend over backwards to ruin someone's reputation, attempt to take food off of someone's table because they didn't like something about them. The audacity smh!! I understand hard work and expecting the absolute best for my money and I got exactly what I expected at Orchid. Perhaps approaching others with kindness, grace, and respect may take you privileged folks much further in life....and the best part is it doesn't cost you a thing to do that!! I absolutely love this place and I highly recommend Nyeisha and Beatrize they definitely have skills and will keep you entertained while getting your whole life together!

Rude. Thought I caught it on my initial call but then thought maybe she was just busy. But it happened twice more in person. She has a bad habit of responding quick and cutting you off. The whole pre-pay thing is BS. I didnt feel like she wanted my business anyway. Walked out. When a 12 year old asks "why was she acting like that with us for no reason?" It spoke volumes and made me feel bad. All these other reviews with the same complaint are valid.

Excellent customer service. Excellent barbers. Cut my 3 year olds hair today and it was a good experience for him...he cried on the way out did not want to leave. So grateful for good barbers and optimal customer service.Beingtruelove.com

I was refereed to Nyeisha's salon by a friend. I am an Asian woman with thick, coarse , frizzy hair. I have worn my hair short all my life because of how unmanageable it is. I have tried several hair salons and have had the same problem with every one of them. My hair looks great only for a day and then it goes back to looking and feeling awful. I am pleased to say that for the first time in my life my experience has been completely different. Nyeisha has given me a hair cut that is so chic and is super easy to style .My hair is finally manageable for the first time in my life! I have had my new hair for a week now and it takes me only 5 mins to style it every morning and my hair has never felt or looked better. I highly recommend this place. Nyeisha was very friendly and took the time to listen to all of my concerns before she gave me my wonderful hair cut.

I had a very uncomfortable experience at this salon. I rarely give one star reviews, only when I experience both horrible customer service and poor services. My experience began with Nyeisha talking down to me over the phone about how the root touch-up that I initially wanted would have to be a complete color correction. I am grateful that she tried educating me on what she felt needed to be done, but she was very rude. There were 3 other major red flags for me: 1) I asked that at the end of the process that my roots be darker than my ends, but Nyeisha flat out told me that my whole head would be the same color. 2) I asked halfway through the process if I could put a brown over my hair, and was told that it would be a dark brown. I wanted light brown, but Nyeisha just told me it would have to be dark and I believed her, so I had them carry on with their treatments. She didn't give me much space to share the desires I had for my hair, so I just believed her. The next day when I came back and had them finish the last bleaching treatment, I was still looking crazy, so I asked again if I could put a brown over it. Nyeisha was talking (a lot), but literally stopped and looked at my with her eyes wide like I was crazy and said, "If you wanted brown we could have just done that yesterday!" I was stunned. 3) They washed my hair and put an olaplex conditioning treatment in it (they even wanted to wash it out, but I didnt let them. Type 3 hair should always have something it in after washing ESPECIALLY after bleaching it so many times). Then after drying my hair, I need a pick to give my hair volume and both Beatrize and Nyeisha could not find one in their whole salon. This is a black salon, but I guess not for afros. Additionally, I did not have to undergo so many bleaching treatments to get to my desired look. Throughout my time at the salon, Nyeisha repeatedly told me that we would discuss what type of blonde I wanted to be, and eventually began talking about honey blonde, which I accepted. I told her that I'm fairly open to be whatever type of blonde, but at some point she adopted the idea that I wanted to be platinum all over my head. I never once said that I wanted to be as light as possible. Platinum is what my ends were, and I did not want to have my whole head that color AND suffer the damaging treatments it takes to get there. Amidst my red flags were a multitude of other things that were not ok. Hair appointments are often stressful, but this one was extreme. This salon did not try to understand my vision nor work with me to get there/near there.

Nyeisha manages her time well. I appreciate walking in at my appointment time and not having to wait for my service. She is professional and insightful when attending to a client. I love the treatment she does on my hair. And she let me know when my hair can not handle products or styles. Orchid Salon is a win for me. Thank you Nyeisha!!!

I found the salon on Yelp and stopped by for a consultation. The moment I entered the salon I was met with hostility. While giving me her "professional opinion" on how to care for my hair, the owner was insulting and rude. She told me that she was not accepting new clients; however, she would take me on because I looked like I needed help. In order to make an appointment I had to give a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 via mobile cash app [the only acceptable method of payment], which I did. Despite the deplorable customer service, I booked an appointment since she seemed to know her craft. After sleeping on it, I figured I must have lost my mind. I could not see pass the initial meeting despite her knowledge, so I called and canceled the appointment. I'm out $25.00; hopefully she uses it buy a new attitude. Please see business owner's response, which substantiates my review.

They don’t braid, which is fine I guess but when I was asking if I can just get a wash and blow dry over the phone the lady was rude and had a condescending attitude. My aunt actually recommended them to me and I doubt we will be using their services going forward if this is how we are greeted when just trying to make an appointment.

Great experience every time. Consistent, professional, timely, relaxed, and informed. Enjoy coming here to have my daughters hair done. We call ahead to snag an appointment, and we've never had to wait. Fully trust my daughters hair to this salon!

It's taken too long to write this review. I've seen Nyeisha four times now and all I can say is she is the whole package! After literally years of trying different salons in my area and getting the same reproduced look that suits most of their clientele, I decided to seek out a salon that understands how to cut, shape and style naturally curly hair. What a difference one decision can make! From the moment I walked through the door, I knew something special was about to happen. Nyeisha is so warm and welcoming! She's created a space that conveys her commitment to her profession while also keeping a relaxed environment. She listens! Perhaps the the most elusive quality in previous salons I tried. Full disclosure, my hair was a disaster. Layers of pandemic root touch-up home coloring paired with previous bad cuts left me wearing baseball caps on a pretty regular basis. She changed all that. Lifted the kaleidoscope of saturated colors then went to work on my advanced, pesky grey roots. All the while, chatting away like we'd been friends for years! What a welcome change at a time where things were just opening up again. She knew exactly how to frame my face, match my skin tone to the highlights I wanted and most important of all: Worked WITH my curls! Every salon in the past ALWAYS tried to straighten my hair. Nyeisha just gets it. Kind of hesitate to get the word out because she's already in high demand but she's a revelation! The compliments continue on a regular basis about my hair. Do yourself a favor and see Nyeisha. She's a keeper!

The lady had a bad attitude for no reason, very rude. She lost a potential client. I went in to just ask about a posible appointment and she snapped at me because I pulled down my mask to talk to her being socially distant standing by the door, salon is small anyways, mean while shes not wearing a mask or even busy, hypocrite much! So even though I thought that was rude, I still was like ok sorry. But then she had an attitude again about the stupid door that didn't close behind me, it's the kind of door that should have closed, but nonetheless it was not on purpose and uncalled for attitude. Don't waste your time here! I would give zero stars if it let me.

It's really hard to find any stylist in the tri-Valley area that does African-American hair for young girls. I found Nyeisha on yelp and booked an appointment for my young teenager. She let me know upfront that she usually charges somebody an advance on your credit card so in case you don't show up she can still get some money for booking her time. We were really excited to go have her hair done by Nyeisha. When we arrived she wasn't very friendly and it made me nervous because I haven't taken my baby to any studios here in town to have her hair done. She let us know that she does not usually style children's hair even though on the yelp reviews I see several children or young women getting their hair done at her studio. I'm not really sure what it was about my child that she wasn't interested in having her be a return customer. She sat perfectly still in the chair and didn't complain at all. She gave her a washing a blow dry and straightened her hair which was good. But because she is so unfriendly I won't be going back. And that's really hard because we hope to find a sale us here in the tri-Valley area so I'm sad about it instead I found a stylist in San Leandro and I'm willing to drive the distance to be able to have somebody who understands my babies hair. I wish she would've been a little more friendly it would've helped a lot because we are looking for a stylist in the tri-Valley area and I just can't find one. I tried to book a second appointment with her because what am I gonna do I can't find a studio here and she refused to book a follow up appointment telling me to call her in a month or so and I just felt so rude. Even my baby noticed and she said obviously she does not want to do my hair which was really sad for her because she starting to pay attention to her beauty routine.
