Great beet salad, fries and beer on their picnic tables in the warm spring sun this weekend. Can't wait to return. Affable helpful service too!

Shockingly Rude Server girl. Last night we were returning to our Forestville home after some beach combing. Hungry for some takeout fish & chips we stopped in at the Blue Heron. We waited patiently while watching her flirt with the cute guy & take his order immediately even though he arrived behind us. She made every effort to avoid eye contact, jumping on every other customer's request besides ours. Evidently she Only speaks to folks from Duncan's Mills, not us from just a few miles away. Anyway, she is a disgraceful face for your restaurant. FYI I very rarely leave reviews & try to never leave bad ones. Her actions simply cannot be ignored. Clearly we just left eventually, having never been spoken to.

I always love coming to Blue Heron on weekends. Their clam chowder, potato skins, and Fish & chips are incredible! Also love that they keep Guinness on tap!

This is one of my favorite local restaurants for nearly 20 years! Cozy dining with great upscale pub food, awesome staff (Dave the bartender rocks!!!) and friendly locals. They have pet-friendly outdoor seating, kid menu, in-house dining, and separate bar with great music on Thursdays and on weekends (Sunday afternoons!) during summer. My favorites are seared ahi salad, salmon fish & chips, burgers, sliders, and the BEST FRENCH FRIES (sweet potato, garlic & regular)!!! BBQ’s oysters from What The Shuck on summer weekends and Sundays (??Please come back again this year Neil). A great stop for families, drinks with friends and hanging with the locals.Wheelchair accessibility: stair free with ramp inside back dining room

Always great food and often great live music playing. Bartenders are awesome. The fish and chips is my go to for food there.

Fun place to go to. Pack patience as the kitchen is slow. However the atmosphere is friendly.

I can’t tell you anything about the food, because we could not get service on Saturday night at about 6:30. They seemed focused on the bar patrons. We stood waiting for anyone to come acknowledge us in the restaurant, even after my wife mentioned to someone tending the bar that we were waiting. She just shrugged and turned away. Waited a few more minutes and then left. Went to Cape Fear Cafe across the street, and had delightful service and food.

Dog friendly, good service and tasty food. Casual dining, bar food and a lovely outdoor patio. I loved the shrimp and chips. Big, perfectly cooked shrimp with tasty slaw and tartar sauce. Boo loved his crab cakes. Nice green salad. Good wine selection and reasonable prices.

Ordered the beet salad with a side of chicken. I love beets but being the center piece of the salad-- they should have been better quality-- not boiled waterlogged from a can lumps with no taste. Beets are cheap and it wouldn't be that difficult to buy fresh and roast them...love to support our local businesses but lackluster dishes make it hard for me to return.

It's a weird setup... I would have rated higher, but was with my 87 year old dad and it was nowhere near what is implied by their website. It seems like a fun place, and I will be back to try it again without him. On a side note, if you are a regular it appears you will get much better service, but stay nice and treat the staff nice and I don't think it would take much to be brought into the fold LOL!!

Been coming to this area for years. This is a local and tourist favorite spot . Great vibe. Dog friendly but.. tonight... the waitress just shouldn't have been taking orders. She's in the wrong career- she was short tempered, dismissive, impatient, and all around Not happy to be there. . Well, the hospitality career you choose to be in -calls for you to at least fake it.. Don't put your hardships on customers. Don't make us feel bad for asking for things. We are all going through crap in our lives and the last thing we need is planning a night out to relieve some stress only to be met with an attitude like yours, Sasha.

Spent a lovely day at the Blue Heron Restaurant yesterday. Food was great, lovely patio area with music and dancing, and dog-friendly! Couldn't ask for more!
