We loved spending the weekend in the caboose, surrounded by the mountains, River, and gorgeous views! The first time we stayed here it rained the whole time and was still magical! This time it was sunny and warm! The dog friendly space is great and our pup loved running around in the dog park!

We like the place. But when we had a problem, follow through didn’t happen as discussed with owner or manager.

We love it here. The addition of cats wandering in and out of our caboose will prevent us from visiting in the future, sadly, due to my daughter's severe cat allergies. Thank you for the memories.Nearby activities: Hiking, beautiful views, sitting area by the crag view, a working hot tub during winter, the restaurantWalkability: Walking around the grounds and doing a few outdoor activities including a play area for the kids was very enjoyable.Noteworthy details: Great responsive service, kind management

This is my favorite campsite in California. I love being surrounded by trees with the sound of the river close by. The restaurant is so cute and the food is good. Two small camp stores make staying very convenient. The team are all so very friendly and helpful, they are the best part of our stay! Thank you for a magical camping experience!

I've stayed in the caboose before and loved it. This time I stayed in a cabin and loved it too! Had a fantastic breakfast in the dining car.

Rooms: We stayed in Caboose #9. It had a full bed and 2 twin beds. The whole thing was very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. There were all the hotel room amenities you could want including a modern heater/air conditioner, TV, coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. We had a blast and enjoyed the decor and charm.Food & drinks: The Dining Car restaurant was a highlight of our trip. The waiter explained all the unique features of the interior including the local historic photos and antiques. They have a vintage steel Pullman car and an authentic dining car made of solid oak. Even the bar is made of an old caboose. The food was very good.

The honey bacon Brussel sprouts were potentially the best vegetables I’ve consumed in this lifetime. Great selection of local beers. Prime rib was also top notch along with the great service from our waitress. Cheers and ty for having us!

Stopped by to try out the restaurant and was not disappointed. Their prime rib dip special is awesome, would recommend if it’s available. Now I know all about the camp ground as well, will definitely come back to stay some time soon. Seems like a great place to bring your family for a vacation.Walkability: Decent amount of walking distance between the campground and restaurant/gift shop. Great for an after dinner walk back to your campsite.Food & drinks: Food is great and not too expensive, good selection as well. Nice bar within the first train car as well.

This was a great evening. The food and service were fantastic and great nostalgia live music. We loved the concept of dinning on a train. We walked around the resort, and each hotel experience is a separate rail car. We could barely see inside the rooms, but what we saw it looked great. The next time we go we will probably stay overnight.
