I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at Kohl’s deserves serious attention.
I came across a 20% off coupon shared both online and by a store employee, and it clearly stated:
“20% off the whole store” — no small print, no terms, no exclusions listed anywhere. Naturally, I assumed this was a storewide discount.
So I drove all the way to the store, only to be told at checkout that the coupon didn’t apply to most of the items I picked out. When I asked the employee about the restrictions, they gave me a halfhearted shrug and said something like, “Oh, it just doesn’t work for those.” No reasonable explanation, no apology, and certainly no awareness of how misleading this was. It honestly felt like a bait-and-switch tactic, which may even violate consumer protection laws or Department of Weights and Measures regulations.
To make matters worse, the in-store experience was just as disappointing. There was a long line of customers waiting to check out, but instead of helping out, one employee stood behind the counter opening a box of books and casually flipping through them like he had all the time in the world. He took about 10 minutes slowly sorting and arranging them while customers stood there waiting. Meanwhile, only one person was actually working the register.
This kind of lack of urgency and poor awareness of customer service is shocking, especially when people are already frustrated by misleading promotions. The whole experience was a waste of time, gas, and energy.
Kohl’s, if you're going to promote a discount—be transparent. And if you're going to have employees on the floor, train them to actually be helpful. I won’t be returning to this location and will be reporting this to the appropriate consumer protection channels.

What is Kohl's thinking, making it impossible for customers to accept their offers ($10 off $25 purchase Memorial Day) everyone (including my daughter and I) who were at the store while I was there DID NOT QUALIFY for the $10, that's just disgusting, what's going on Kohl's??? (P.S. Michelle, cashier was helpful after the fact)

Well stocked store that is clean. Been awhile since I've been to a Kohl's. Self checkout was nice. Was just buying one item so I was in and out in minutes. Whoever was using the electrical outlet on the floor to vacuum didn't close it though... So I ran my foot into the brass cap that covers it. Nice hole in my toe. Other than that, nice store.

The girl who helped me and the manager were not at all friendly and not even a greeting. They also couldn't solve my problem, I didn't return to that store again.

This Kohl's location is kinda hidden in plain sight for budget-friendly apparel and home goods. Their clearance section always has some amazing finds, you just have to be in the mood to do a little digging. Plus, their rewards program is great, giving you points for every purchase that you can redeem for discounts and coupons. I always say with these bigger department stores, you always want to find the one that is least visited because it has a lot of items, and I think this one is one of those gems.
