2023 Corvette Z51. Inquired about swapping out Z51 brake pads for low dust Carbotech pads and was told it would be ~$230. I asked why that much and was told the book time was ~1.25 hours and rate was $185 per hour. After car was on lift for between 45mins to an hour service writer asked me if I wanted to have both front AND rear pads changed (YES, obviously) as he said he only quoted for one end (front?) so it would be double the original estimate for all brakes. In the end all pads were changed in about 2.5 hours for exactly $434.70. I'm a 35 year aircraft mechanic (over 30 years in United Air Lines heavy maintenance) and have worked on a couple of race car crews. Had i been allowed to work on my car after it was raised on the lift and the wheels removed I could have swapped out all eight pads myself in 20 or 25 mins. No special tools are required except, optionally, a 9mm 10 spline socket for the front calipers (I would not have used this method) and literally no tools specified for the rear brakes. I'm still reeling over $434 for a brake pad swap ... in TWO AND A HALF HOURS.
Edited to add: The release form i was handed for payment already had my photocopied signature on it accepting the properly completed car and acknowledging I was notified of any increase in the estimate and gave oral approval of it. I signed NOTHING after the original estimate.

I bring my car to Mountain View Tire for repairs or tires. I took my car in on a Sunday for tires sensor replacements. The wait was a little long but worth it. As long as I got it back the same day.

I had one of the worst customer experiences of my life at this shop this past Sunday.
I came in with a simple request: a patch for a nail in my tire.
Instead of offering the repair I asked for, the staff insisted I had to buy a new tire — no options, no discussion. I was charged $65 for something that should have been a basic patch.
Two hours later, I was told that my other tire also “needed to be replaced” because it was supposedly in bad condition. This was simply not true — that tire was brand new. It felt like they were trying to upsell unnecessary work.
On top of that, we waited a total of 3½ hours with zero communication. I kept asking for an estimated time, but the clerk refused to answer or even give a simple update. When one of the mechanics eventually handed him my keys, I politely asked if we could be rung up, and he told us we had to keep waiting — with no explanation at all.
The worst moment was when my girlfriend tried to give feedback about the long wait time. The clerk ignored her entirely, looked at me, and said “I’m talking to the man, not you.” I wasn’t even talking to him! What the heck was that suppose to mean? I’m talking to the man. Not you? Wow.
That level of disrespect is unbelievable in 2025. Completely unprofessional. I would never expect that kind or repose from an establishment. Ever.
However I didn’t push the issue because it was clear he was already irritated and taking things personally, and I didn’t want the situation to escalate or cause us to wait even longer. We just wanted to get out of there. Also I don’t want my girlfriend getting into a debate with this man which could then escalate into something further. It was clear to me he wanted to argue. No way. I would not allow that. We we trying our best to get out of there.
I will never return to this place and will make sure my friends and family stay far away as well. There are plenty of tire shops that are honest, respectful, and actually helpful. This is not one of them. Here is the picture of the nail by the way. What should have been a 20-30 dollar service cost be a few hundred dollars and an insult to my girlfriend. She simply told them they should have given us an eta instead of having us sit there for over 3 hours. Worst worst worst service ever. It’s not about the money. It’s not. It was the man who was dealing with us. Never ever again will I come here.

Skip if you care about your time. Our experience from 11-16-2025.We arrived at around 8:00 hoping for a tire patch and agreed to get an entirely new tire. They suggested getting new back tires bc they were also in bad condition fine. It’s been now two hours and the car is just sitting there elevated with no one working in it. I asked for a time estimate and the worker said 30 mins after giving him the color make and model. He said ‘they’re balancing the tires now’. I peep in the garage and the car is still elevated with no one working on it. I would suggest transparency when it comes to giving time estimates. We could have planned accordingly and found workarounds to complete our errands. Don’t expect zippy service. Don’t expect accurate time estimates. To me it looks like they were understaffed. Don’t know my gripe is be honest to your customers. It’s been almost three hours and we’re still waiting for the car. Do yourself a favor and go to another tire shop.

i paid $834 for 1 tire sensor replacement and 1 front light replacement (they didnt show me the busted light). after paying, i found that the light cover is not secured and the tire pressures were 30 and 31. the paper they gave me showed that they checked the pressure and recorded 36 in all tires. now i have to go back again and leave my car for them to fix. very inconvenient after i paid $800+

I had s tire that kept losing air which they filled for me on s few occasions in the last 2 months. I had time so I asked if they could take it off and look at it. They found a nail and repaired it. They are always so polite and fit me right in.
