It's been back and forth. There have been moments where they have helped, and they are kind. Usually I have to wait in line for 45 minutes for that though. Which I'm patient so it's okay. I just wonder if I come at the busy times, or if it's always like that? A busy location maybe. The tellers are way more kind than people on the phone.I was having financial problems. I called to talk to someone about the issue. She tried to give me advice on how to spend my money, which seemed very unprofessional. I did need help, so I wasn't sure how to respond. It felt very judgemental.Also one time I called, and it was obviously someone taking the line from another country. This teller told me my account didn't exist, and to not call? Which was even more confusing when I called back, and then it was a normal call. But they didn't find it weird or suspicious when I told them someone just took my info from their bank, and told me I didn't exist there?Now I'm traveling internationally, and they randomly put my card on hold at the worst times. Sometimes I can't receive calls to fix it. I travel a lot for work, so it's not the best bank for that. This may be my last time giving the bank a chance. I will see how it resolves.But having an experience of kindness and an experience of rudeness. Also I feel judgement from this place. I'm not sure what to think of this bank. Even though I wanted to like it and not go to big banks. Hm

Grateful for the warm welcoming team here! Special shout out to Arthur who is always kind, efficient and quick to answer any inquiries I may have! I'm never waiting long, but perhaps that's because I strategically plan my days to avoid any potential banking traffic. This bank has the worst customer service I was on the phone for over two hours trying to get my debit card to work in Texas after I already called and told them I would be in Texas they told me I cannot use my card in Texas that’s why I will be closing my accounts there and no longer using California coast

horrible bank!! thieves! Have an auto loan with them, submitted proof of ins couple of week after purchase. Months later I get a letter asking for proof of ins and billed me $8178.00. So I submitted proof of ins to them AGAIN!! haven't heard from them so far, its been couple of days. Seriously, $8k ins!!!! Yeah you can dream about getting that money from me. I'll happily drag you to court! Bunch of thieves, who pays $8k for ins. BTW, My driving record is clean, no accidents or tickets and I'm 33! lol $8k. Going to refinance, I'll happily pay extra in interest but actually deal with a legit company than a bank who tries to steal.

Went in for an auto loan and was assisted right away. Thank you to Dylan for being such a big help!! He made the process so easy and stress free. Communication and attentiveness to all my questions and concerns superseded my expectations. Highly recommend you go see Dylan at the El Cajon location!!

CCCU is the only bank I’ve ever used and have been going to this specific location around 10 years and have had nothing but amazing service. I highly recommend this place. My first time auto loan was so low when other lenders tried to offer me a new loan most literally said “Oh wow! Yeah, we can’t beat that APR.” No stupid credit card fees. Makes you feel like they actually care about you and not just doing the bare minimum job. Ive received nothing but great communication form them as well. One time I missed a fraudulent purchase on my card and they called me to let me know they were turning that card off and I could pick a new one up that day. Always willing to do everything they can, but can only do so much with all of CA laws. Never had a bad experience at any location.

Management really needs to step it up at this location. The lines are always long. Customer service is sub-par. They usually have only one teller serving customers. The outside of the facility is filthy! Had to stand in line outside on a littered walkway.

No. Just don't go here.I came here a while back before going on orders for the military. Switched bank accounts and needed a debit card like, within that week to access my funds and dang I shouldn't have to justify wanting access to money I worked for.They told me they give a temporary debit card for 3 weeks once I get the account and if I don't get the real one in the mail, I have to wait for another one to be mailed which could also take three weeks. What do I do in the mean time? Go eff myself I guess. I asked many follow up questions. I did not misunderstand. I had to be a total j*** to get them to give me a debit card and got a new one in the mail that week. They genuinely don't understand why you need your money and can't wait another few weeks.Just go to the one in La Mesa. It's worth the the drive. Friendly people, professional and they gave me my debit card same day. Just don't go here unless you need super basic stuff like a withdrawal with specific bills and count it afterward. I don't want these people handling my money. They act like it's company policy but every other Cal Coast branch I've been to is remarkably better.

I cannot say enough amazing things about my banker Austin. I was applying for a loan and he took his time helping me through all of the steps. He took his time to explain to me interest, monthly payments, worst case scenario, and best case scenario. He took away all of my fear and anxiety with all of the education he provided me with. I saw 2 other banks when applying for this loan and no one took the time like Austin did. I got the best rate at Cal Coast. It was 1/3 interest of what the other banks were offering. More banks need people like Austin!! If I were to rate my service on a scale of 10 it would be 11!!!

Poor customer service. The bank tellers ALWAYS seem bothered when dropping off my rent check. Anyone who is not fair skinned BEWARE they seriously give off some of that real old school El Cajon vibes if you know what I mean.Thanks for reaching out but under no circumstance will I give you the opportunity to treat me like that over the phone also. It is what it is. Just be better

I've been a customer here through many iterations of name changes and personnel changes. Generally, they provide really great customer service and they have good auto loan rates. They're generally friendly and easy to deal with. Today, I went in for a motorcycle loan. I was told I was pre-approved for a $40,000 car loan and they wouldn't even need to check my credit, get pay stubs, or any other paperwork if I was buying a vehicle. Because I needed a loan for not even half of that for a motorcycle, I had to provide all the documentation, get my credit checked, etc. like the pre-approval never existed. Lets use common sense Cal Coast. You'll give me $40,000 as a loan for a car, but not $15,000 for a motorcycle? I've paid off over $60,000 in vehicles with you, each loan in only a few years, much less than the duration of the loan term.

TERRIBLE and INCONVENIENT SERVICE! How does a financial institution exist these days that CANNOT or WILL NOT process requests via phone or online? I have, on many occasions, had to call and/or come in to the branch office to complete small transfers, get a new password to my account, etc. The latest was my attempt to have my money transferred from Cal Coast to my other banking account. The first rep told me, no one was available to help me and to call back later, although she could not tell me WHEN to call back...just later (WHAT??). I called back 5 mins later and the 2nd rep told me she could not find my list of security questions (although she had already asked my name, account number, place of employment and occupation) and that I would need to come in to make my transfer (which, mind you, was a whopping $50)! I only opened this account for discount tix to the Gulls games and I can't wait to withdraw my whole $50 out and never bank with them again!!
