Our whippet puppy was vomiting this morning; it was his first time dealing with it so we wanted to ensure it was nothing to worry about. Our regular vet was booked for two-weeks and recommended ECVVH since they were walk-in only. I checked their website to see what was up and saw we were within the walk-in time frame. I was ready and prepared for a long wait given "check-in" only. Check-in from the car was easy; called, provided information, and then waited for the call for us to go inside. I really liked this process as it keeps the time one is with other pets and people who are stressed in a waiting room to a minimum. We sat in car with AC on for about 15-20 minutes. Inside one is assigned a space, which again I liked. Wait once inside was again maybe 15-20 minutes. My wait time at my regular vet is typically 30-45 minutes with an appt. I was ready for a much longer wait here but got out very quickly. Cost was very reasonable. Process was smooth, communication with vet and staff was great. I would recommend.

I cannot express how amazing the staff here are. My dog came in with a spinal injury and they took him in right away. Staff here are very understanding and empathetic. They made me feel like I was not alone. RVT Hilary and Brittany were amazing. Hilary offered to watch over my dog the following day after his initial appointment because I was so worried about him. She truly is a gem in this industry. I have yet to meet a RVT like her and her team. I went to work knowing my dog, Pickel, is in the best hands with amazing people. I would definitely recommend El Cajon Valley Veterinary Hospital to anyone nearby. Your pets will be in the best hands with knowledgable professionals. The clinic is also walk-in, so that is a plus.

This place is old and run down. I was standing outside of the room they took my dog into. They put a muzzle on every dog. after they take them back from where they will let you go. I just happen to see in when an officer staff member open the door. The drive way has a bunch of holes in it. Really glad i drive a truck because if not i would bottom out in a car. This place inside is super filthy. I would not let my family member be treated there let alone my dog. They keep going through doctors as well. The staff keeps turning over new doctors and staff. I would stay clear of here and find somewhere else to take my service, dog or a pet. Its funny other reviews here someone from here has posted back on them. To tell them they are lying however they say the same similar things. My service dog is the nicest dog and yes she didnt like the people trying to help us. Witch to me my dog is a really good judge of character. We didn't even stay just got up and left. I stopped them when i seen them putting a muzzle on my dog. I got my dog and left do not go here.

As you can see, this business owner does not know what's going on. If you look at previous reviews, you can tell how unprofessional this business owner is when replying to the reviews. I see why the employees act the way they do. I was not rude. The unprofessional and rude employee at the front desk is what really bothered me. I got a letter saying my pet has been terminated of medical treatment because I wrote a inaccurate yelp review. It was 100% Honest. Also, they said I slammed the front door which is totally false. Check the video tape. Everything makes sense now on why they have such a low Yelp Rating Before they sent that funny termination letter, I've already went elsewhere to a cleaner, more professional, real veterinary Hospital where they were more than willing to care for my Senior Boxer even though they were really busy. They're good people out there! Just don't expect it at El Cajon Veterinary Hospital

My expectations as a customer are not only not meant, but also the company failed to do anything about my complaints. The front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. I don't understand how this place is still in business. I'm a business owner of a medical facility and our customer service is a top priority. We care for our patient's well-being and family. We promote a positive imagine by listening and resolving their needs or issues. This place failed me and my pet. To make matters worse, the owner has poor communication skills and uses language that is not expected nor appropriate. I will no longer recommend this place after coming here for 5+ years. I will also be filing a complaint through the city of El Cajon and suing for negligence. This place needs to be closed down. I hope no one has to go through what a went through or their pet.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about with having a rude receptionist and it's not often someone leaves a good review! Brittany was awesome. She answered all my questions, gave me advice for showing up in the morning and offered me a time to bring my pup in today, with the "estimated" wait time. Thanks so much Brittany!

First the owner is stating they were at capacity when we came and that is why they referred us elsewhere but that is not, true they referred us elsewhere because they don't provide the treatment my dog needed. Secondly, me and my boyfriend were not rude to the staff at all. If anything, we felt like we couldn't even say a word from how much judgement came from the doctor and the receptionist didn't even look at us when checking us out, that is no way to run a business. It's so disappointing to see a business owner make up their own story instead of having the decency to apologize for the way their staff handles patients. I will definitely tell everyone I know not to go there. If they can lie like this who knows how many people they've lied to, to get money out of them. I wish I didn't have to leave 1 star they don't deserve any.

I don't want to even give one star but I have to. The girl who answered the phone and hung up on me three time you are rude and mean I feel discriminated for asking about a voucher for my dog from the human society I recorded her being rude and she kept saying it's Illegal to record her I wouldn't of but she's so rude I feel helpless and there's nothing you can do why do people get away with acting like this! I'm so darn tired of rude customer service!

It's unfortunate that this clinic has a vet such as Dr.Ixchel,Mosley because she is rude, dismissive, and uninformative. She will not answer your questions about your concerns with your pet. She also belittle you with your concern. If I can rate this clinic zero stars I would.

The vets here are wonderful, if you can get in. You literally have to take PTO from work and plan at least four hours. You cannot schedule an appointment. it's first come first served. You have to call on the phone when you get there, then wait in your car, even when it's 100 degrees outside. I can't for the life of me, understand how such nice doctors can have such rude staff. The last three times we've been there, the staff is rude and snarky. I'm assuming that the doctors are okay with their behavior because it's consistent each visit. These employees wouldn't last a day in human medicine, so why are these doctors allowing this? Since the staff are the first and last people you see, you'd think the doctors would require more professionalism. It's mind boggling. Dear Docs at ECVM, your clients deserve better treatment from your staff. They represent you! They are making you look bad. Dr. Thank you for your response. Please read the reviews. Many people have had issues with your staff. You and the other doctors have been amazing. Your staff does not represent you accordingly. I have an idea to ease the check in process. I've been to another appointment where you scan a QR code when you arrive. It puts you in line. You are able to put the reason for the visit, like labs only or office visit. Sick or wellness visit. You could put them on the parking signs next to the space number. It could help everyone, your staff included. Maybe it would reduce everyone's stress.

Open until 6pm, but don't think of picking up your pet's prescription medications a minute after 530pm. Why are their hours are 8am to 6pm, but they don't provide medications during those hours. Hope you don't rush out during rush hour traffic to El Cajon to make it before 6pm... The customer service is severely lacking.

They are friendly & caring and provide reasonably priced quality care. I don't feel "raked over coals" after a visit. They found no problem with my dog's ears when I suspected an infection and there was "no charge." Very kind place for animals.

I had a very great experience at this vet and will be coming back from now on. My cat is very aggressive so I understand it's hard to work with her. They gave me meds for her and came back 2 days after as a walk in and she was behaving like an angel. The doctor was great and gentle with her. The front desk girls are very polite and I can tell they work really hard. Brittany (and all the girls) are really professional and quick to answer calls. I appreciate the hard work they do on trying to maintain COVID regulations even if people don't like it. Overall, I think this is the best vet clinic I've been to!
