Today I had an appointment at Golden 1 to open a new Trust account. As soon as I walked in Lori greeted me by name and began helping me. That was a pleasant surprise since I was anticipating having to sign in, and then wait a while to be helped.Lori helped me sort through my Trust documents and easily worked through a couple issues in order to make sure the account was set up properly. Lori really took the time to make sure everything was correct and ensured I understood every step of the process. Lori even helped me resolve a couple issues with my other Golden 1 accounts in the same visit.Lori was thorough, efficient and seemed very focused on making sure I had a great experience with Golden 1. I was very impressed with my this Golden 1 location and how helpful Lori was.Going forward, I plan to drive the extra distance to come to this Golden 1 location since the customer service here is probably the best I've experienced in years.

Local Credit Union. Most people do not go inside a brick and mortar financial institution. On occasion I do and this group of people are outstanding.Courteous and friendly.

Still no fix from the bank as my Zelle and Bill Pay have not worked now close to a month. The only way to get a response from them was I once again had to call them. Amazingly poor customer service. A complaint has been filed with with NCUA, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and with the FTC all naming the CEO as the contact. As they say the "Fish stinks from the head down." Here is my original note below. You figured someone from this bank would have picked up the phone but no one did. Frankly, after a month of this nonsense management should be embarrassed. A simple call back when the bank was first alerted would have alleviated all this. Frankly, I am tired of pursuing Golden One for a fix."I wrote to this bank's executive personnel and no response. In addition to many other reoccurring problems, for more than a week the "pay bill" and "zelle" functions do not work so I can not pay my bills. The functions simply have disappeared with no explanation or solution. My wife was in the bank and overheard other customers complaining along the same lines. Has the bank software failed? Have they been hacked? In logging in today, in addition to not being able to pay my bills, I got a disclaimer "that certain functions may not be working."Here is my letter to the bank. Still no fix and I have yet to hear from management. This bank does not operate in a vacuum. Tomorrow I will be filing a complaint to the folk who regulate this establishment. There is this thing called accountability.Golden One Headquarter8945 Cal Center Dr.Sacramento, Ca 95826Attn: Donna Bland (CEO)I recently received a survey from your company. I excoriated your company and marvel how badly run is your bank. For a customer to write a letter there must be a lot of frustration. I suspect you and your Senior Management team sit in an "ivory tower" and have no idea. Well, I have some outstanding issues with my next letter being to the NCUA. You definitely need to be investigated. Let me give you the outline:* About a week ago my ability to pay bills on line through the bank simply disappeared. I called your customer service and they intoned that it belongs to an unnamed "third party" and someone will call you back. A week later I still do not have the function. I do not recall opening an account with a "third party" as your personnel are apparently trained not to take any responsibility for anything. Does the "buck" stop at your office?* Your machines are constantly down. I remember one particular ATM in the southern part of the County down a month. (I had to reach out to one of your VP's to finally get it fixed.) Many times, machines partially work and in one instance I had a check shredded. Who runs your maintenance and feel free to publish the metrics associated? I bet they are not very good.* I wrote a check that your bank cleared long before the date on the check. I did file a complaint and never heard from anyone. When I initially spoke to your customer service supervisor once again, they took no responsibility and spoke to me in "third person" as if they were an uninterested party. Is this how you train your employees?* When I transfer money from any other institution it usually takes one day. At your place a minimum of three (3) days. Are you floating the money to glean additional interest?* I try avoiding going into your locations. Most of the folk appear to "hate their jobs." Do you have any training in customer service. Are your folk aware they are not representing a mortuary?* I have seen a lot of software problems and a year ago someone did try to hack the bank account. I have no confidence you have safe guards in place. Also, as I recall a software upgrade you performed you were down a long time. Does the responsible I/T person still have a job?As of this writing I still can not pay bills. When I board an airplane and see a "dirty seat tray" I begin to wonder what else might be wrong with the rest of the plane. No different w

Went in to open a membership for my SCorp and was notified I’d need to provide my business license, so I’d have to make another appointment. No big deal, that was to be expected.Made an appointment for the next day and as soon as I put my shoes on to head to Golden 1, I got a phone call that they do not accept SCorps at this time. Why wasn’t this mentioned when I initially went in and clearly stated I wanted to open an account for an SCorp? Pretty bummed, but at least they called me before I left.

Ivan was amazing! The staff was very helpful. Even on a Saturday being understaffed they hustled and got things done efficiently and effectively. Thank you Ivan for the great service!

I have never had worse/more rude customer service in my life. MARK insisted he could not help with a transaction that in his words "would take about 10 min" due to only having two people working on a "busy Friday afternoon." Worth noting there was only 1 other customer there when we walked in and he spent more than 25 min explaining to both my sister and I that he would not step aside to complete this transaction. He stated this was company policy but that nobody can confirm that? Also, as I was leaving a 3rd employee came back from break and I said, why can't he help me when he's off break and he yelled, loudly GOODBYE. Not the first time I've been turned away here but the idiocy of the argument that he couldn't help because of time (incorrect, had plenty of time to deny my support as a 30 year member) and the fact that there WAS, in fact, a 3rd emplolee working, is mind boggling.

Today was the day -- I finally decided to open up a checking/savings account at a credit union vs. my usual, U.S. Bank. Where I live, the closest U.S. Bank branch is 1.5 hours away, and I was looking for a credit union that is located in my hometown (Folsom/EDH), as well as where I currently live. Golden 1 seemed like the best option. I made an appointment at the El Dorado Hills Town Center branch for this afternoon, but somehow, my clumsy self canceled the appointment. I still walked in, and asked if anyone had time to help open a checking and savings account, thinking they would say I'd have to reschedule. They were happy to help, and took the time to help me open them! Mark was awesome, and explained things thoroughly, and was quick, too! I was in and out of there within half an hour, and I think I made a great decision! Glad to be the newest member of Golden 1 Credit Union. Thanks, Mark! Carson C.

After 10 years at Schools Credit Union we came back to Golden One Credit Union to open up 4 new accounts with a significant amount of money. It was a Saturday and the CU closes at 2. We were there for over an hour and as 2:00 approached we were constantly reminded that the bank closes at 2. "OK"....my wife and I will come back on Monday to complete our accounts....lets finish up with the kids. The banker told my kids that they will receive their new cards in the mail in 7-10 days. I told the banker that they are both heading back to college and asked if he could print temporary cards as they were heading back to college on Sunday. He kept saying that it will take 5 minutes for each card and it was 1:52. It was very clear that HE DID NOT WANT TO PRINT THE CARDS BECAUSE HE WANTED TO LEAVE AT 2:00 SHARP. I insisted that he print them and to get his fingers moving on that keyboard if he wanted to leave. He was rude the entire time and never showed good customer service. We were led out by the branch manager because it was 2:02 and the doors were now locked. She was just as rude seeing us out. We were so disappointed that we immediately went over to Chase just to see what their fee's were. I hate paying fee's.The people at Chase were amazing. After about 15 minutes talking to the banker at Chase we determined that it was worth paying their fee's than having to put up with rude Golden One employees. We immediately set up 4 new accounts and built a new relationship with the folks at Chase.Monday morning we went back to Golden One and closed the only 2 accounts we set up on Saturday (remember we wanted 4 accounts but ran out of time). They never asked us why. Banks and CU's are in the customer service business and their jobs are going away because of online banking. Golden One needs to up their game with customer service or they will continue to lose customers and ultimately deposits in their branches.

The worst fake bank aka credit union in the history of the cabal. They took over my car loan after pinging my credit through schools.Someone dropped the ball and it appears schools owns my car but I'm making payments to g1. Neat.Payment system is horrible, can't use their app, for goodness sakes I have to do EFT through a lame web portal meaning I have to keep my checkbook handy until I memorize the account and routing numbers. Garbage.Dear God why did this third rate mediocre entity take over my car loan, why? They refused to adjust my payment due date when they took over the load after purchase from the dealership. Phoned in and human slave number 666 told me I could adjust it to the date I desired, waited on hold then was told I could not because I did not have a loan longer than 7 years on file. Well DUH I use a real bank not a kiddie bank for the state's endless army of paper shuffling drones, and I don't have any control over who took over the car loan.Overall I'd rather shred my money and eat it and p*** it out for them, at least that way I could get some doomsday fiber.

Called their call center that my Debit Card expired and did not get the new one. I was given the option to either get it in the mail or go to a local branch. I chose to get it on this local branch after asking if the El Dorado Hills branch has that option. Drove to this branch right away . Guess what? That option is not working in this branch and I still end up having it mailed to me...

Understaffed, terrible service, usually really long wait in line.... The manager is great but she is only there a few days a month..... Been banking here for years.... Even though they know me, they wouldn't let me withdraw money from my account because my license expired a couple days ago on my birthday.
