“I'm on my way to George's produce right now to pick up some cabbage and also to get some jalapenos this place is wonderful for low price deals they had Oreo cookies chocolate dip a box of 12 for $1.... yeah they may be a little out of date by like a month, but they're just as good and crispy as ever! God bless everyone that works and owns George's produce! They're wonderful people very kind,super friendly and helpful ... I absolutely love this place, and the people who work there... I highly recommend!”
“Staff are helpful. They don't always have what's in the ad that's why they're getting a 4 star. Prices on produce are usually lower than others. Today they had the nee doh chick eggs which will make great easter basket treats for the kids. Reasonable prices on seasonal attire. The bathing suit has interior mesh and love the corset back.”
“While in line I went to check for a drink in another fridge. The customer behind me assumed I was stepping out of line and started putting her stuff on the coveyer belt. This turned into a verbal argument between the other customer and I. I was pretty upset but knew this was an argument over spilled milk. No biggie. When I got to the cashier she seen everything that had happened and apologized even though the cashier was not involved in the little tiff. This cashier is really welcoming and kind. I didn't get to take a look at her name tag but she has beautiful brunette hair with blonde streaks. She deserves recognition for her courtesy.”
“Aldi is a very nice low cost market. Some of the brands are unknown, but almost always as good as the majors and they always have something new to try that the majors don't have. They are constantly changing special deals and special items which make it a great place to shop!”
“I want to commend the young man who was checking out customers and had to professionally explain that they don’t support holding a place in line. The person was extremely angry and your staff member remained calm and clear. Those of us who were in the growing line appreciated how he handled the situation. This just occurred at the Alhambra store on Main Street. Please extend our thanks to him!”
“As slways, a trip to Aldi is an adventure as you always find things that catch your eye and suddenly you can't live without trying. If you are in luck, not only will it be something that is regularly stocked, but not on the will return later list. If you're not in luck, try it and like it, go back and buy as much as you can store! One example is the chocolate cherry smoothy. Gone for now and hopefully returning soon!”

“I really enjoy shopping at ALDI in Downey. It’s one of those places where you go in for a few things and end up finding a bunch of stuff you didn’t even expect. They’ve got a great mix of meats, snacks, household items, and little treats—you can honestly get most of what you need in one trip.
The prices are a big win. You definitely pay less here compared to a lot of other stores, which makes a huge difference.
My only small complaint is that I wish there were more options for fresh vegetables and fruits. The selection can feel a bit limited sometimes. But honestly, everything else makes up for it.
Overall, it’s a reliable, affordable place to shop with good parking and a solid variety of products. I keep coming back for a reason.”

“really had a great first time here and got everything i needed. I had trouble finding doubanjiang that i needed for a recipe. I had it written on my phone. I asked 2 employees for help. they both immediately brushed me off about “no english” before even looking at what i was after. I spent a lot of time looking for it independently. Later an older white woman asked one of the same employees for help and he decided to help her. It put a bad taste in my mouth but the store selection is great”
“Clean store and great prices. My only gripe here is that every time I go, there's only one checkout lane open forming a big line. So odds are even if you're there to buy one or a few things, you're gonna be waiting a bit.”

“My go to grocery store and i love that they close late because sometimes i have an emergency for something i have to make early in the morning so that helps a lot. The only thing is the strawberries and grapes are never in good shape but sometimes they’re pretty good, wish it was always that way. Other than that i love it.”
“16pc chicken great buy at $14.99. It looks dry, but it's not. It's tender and juicy. I also bought chicken wings. The price was fair. The wings were tasty and meaty. They weren't messy like other wings. They're deep fried. Carlos took my preorder of chicken and did a great job. They were low on wings and he fried me a new batch of 2 pounds. I definitely will be ordering more chicken from them.”

“Shun Fat Supermarket is a great supermarket for a variety of Asian items. Besides getting live fish and veggies, they also have lots of instant noodle options. Vifon is a brand that has so many options of noodles. This time I tried their pho which came in a bowl or square packet. The bowl was convinient and authentic. I made a chicken pho ramen which was filling. It is a great price! The supermarket is clean with lots of items to get.”

“That said, you have to be careful with packaged frozen seafood. Unless you know exactly what it is and how to cook it, do not just trust your eyes. Do not assume that something will have the same taste and texture as what you remember from hometown just because it looks similar. I once bought frozen razor clams that turned out to be chewy, smelly, and almost impossible to chew. Another time, I bought a bag of frozen green mussels. They had exactly the same shape and color as the ones I usually bought from Chinese markets, but they were not cooked. Once defrosted, they practically melted into water.
Vietnamese markets also sell many kinds of fish by weight. Most of them are good, but you need real experience when buying raw seafood. Otherwise, it is very easy to waste money.
Thuan Phat is a typical Vietnamese market in this sense. You can get most of the ingredients a Chinese family needs. Their fried or dried pork skin is actually much better than what I have found in most Chinese grocery stores. But again, only buy what you know. You need to know the quality, and you need to know how to process it.
This Thuan Phat also has several tanks and a full seafood counter for live seafood, including crabs, tilapia, and other fish. The prices are lower than at many Chinese markets, and honestly, the quality is not bad at all.”

I was shocked and happy about the change, considering that they use to have a grouchy cashier lady giving my elderly mom attitude. I think it's great that they improved customer service and I have to say, this place is clean. I can't comment on freshness of produce since I only came here today for an emergency Chinese sauce purchase. This 99 was not my first choice after my past experience with this store, but it was a pleasant surprise and nice shopping experience! I hope they continue on this trajectory.”

“This place is the best, I walk here all the time and if you have 6 dollars you can get 2 bags of chips or 1 bag of chips and 1 soda, AND you would still get change!! Place is clean and extremely cheap unlike the liquor across the street. This will always be my favorite market.”
