Working on establishing a vet for dog. Set appointment and arrive early understanding how busy businesses are. I'm told that they can't checking me in because I'm early. Come the time of appointment they tell me that they can't check me in because vet went to lunch. What is the point of appointments? Then they tell me maybe they can get me in an hour but have have other appointments. What kind of professionalism is this? So far, not impressed. Not sure I'm going to even consider doing business here.

I am NOT one to go on google and write reviews, probably left a total of 5 throughout my life. But this needs to be said.Paid premium dollar to have our cat spayed at this location. The first time, the hospital didn't have the medication to give the cat for her spay. They notified me the DAY BEFORE leading up to her appointment. Two weeks later, scheduled again, took a day off work again, they notify me 30 minutes before the appointment that there is a "leak" in their surgery suite and that they can not perform the surgery. Banfield is a multi million dollar operation. I have never seen anything like this before. I told the lady we already gave the cat the prescribed anxiety medication, the response..."we can prescribe more medication." The only room in this whole hospital that happened to have a leak is the surgery room? And some bow last time the medication required to perform the surgery ran out???? Yeah no, save your pets and go somewhere else, this place has red flags all over. Horrible. Zero regard for people's schedules.After requesting a refund of all the money we have spent and the full plan we signed up with, the response "OK, I'll talk to my manager" and hang up. This place is a joke. Read the other reviews. It's not just one person. And it's a different reason every time. No regards for other people's schedules or accommodations, just cancelling appointments left and right.

Front desk staff is super unprofessional. They never answer the phones. I’m not sure if they don’t have a consisten vet at this location but they constantly are canceling appointments because a doctor isn’t in and the front desk won’t call you to let you know your appointment has been canceled. The vet techs and doctors have always been kind but Banfield and their wellness plans are pointless if you can’t get an appointment to be seen.

If I could use minus stars I would. My recent experience with Banfield Pet Hospital on Elk Grove Blvd, in Elk Grove, CA was horrific and inexcusable. On Monday, Oct. 9 my poor dog was in great distress and I needed to, at the very least, speak to someone to get some advice. I was told a vet would get back to me in the afternoon. No one did. I HAVE pet insurance with Banfield and cannot afford the $1000 out of pocket fee I would have to pay at an emergency vet. I needed to make a decision, for the sake of my sweet pet. She's been my constant companion for 14 years. When NO call was returned I felt I had to do what was best for my dog. On Wed. evening I took her to Vista Pet service, which is a 24 hour emergency service and had my dog put to sleep. In addition to the pain of the experience I felt guilt ridden. Had I done the right thing. If only I could have spoken with someone. Finally, on Thursday afternoon, a vet from Banfield returned my call, four days later, and the day after I had put my pup to sleep. Oh, and to add insult to injury, when I called to cancel my pet insurance I was told that I had an outstanding bill of $479 for service I had received on May 30, 2023. A bill which I NEVER received and only learned about after having just putting my beloved pet down. Banfield should be ashamed and I will be telling EVERYONE I know who is a pet owner to steer clear of this group. P.S. I'm only giving a one star review because my review won't post without a star, but as I said at the beginning...I wish I could use minus stars.

Friendly staff and reasonable wellness plans to cover your pets basic needs make this place a good alternative to other expensive veterinarians, although the price can add up quick if you need a service that isn’t covered by your annual plan.

The vet and animal technicians actually care and listen! They always listen to our concerns, accommodate our pets opinions, and follow up the next day with a phone call to check on them.

never answer the phone, or they put you on hold forever. the place needs cleaning. the doctors don't call you to tellyou how things went/going. they only want to do all day drop offs where your dog doesn't eat or drink all day. the prices are outrageous for surgery. just overall terrible but their plans are a good deal so i unnecessarily put up with them. the banfield business is understaffed and has poor customer service.

6 days ago took my dog in. Today has to put him to sleep. Not paying attention to blood work papers from another Dr. Killers. DON'T TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!!!!

When we first started coming here we were happy. It was a perfect place for preventative care and care for our pug terrier who had ear issues and allergies. Lately, this place has been horrible. First, when we went to go in a week or two ago just to pick up flea medicine the office was randomly closed due to staffing. No notice anywhere except on the door. We have been trying to take our dog in for his allergy shots, vaccines, and to have his ears looked at again. We scheduled the appointment to get the shots without any issue. But on the day of the appointment they called and stated they can't do the appointment without scheduling a comprehensive exam first, which resulted in us having to reschedule. They showed no care when we told them he needed to have his allergy shot to help with his itchiness, it was comprehensive or nothing, which makes no sense at all. I could understand if we were requesting a medicine, and they wanted to exam him first to make sure it was correct, but this was a monthly shot that has been in his record and vaccines. When they rescheduled we told them he couldn't be kenneled due to pug related behavior (anxiety that causes him to scratch at his ears.) This was something THEY told us to say on previous visits so he didn't \"self-harm\" his ears while kenneled. They scheduled us for an in office visit that was supposed to be for today at 3pm. Just now, we got ANOTHER call to reschedule his appointment. They stated they were \"Closing early\" today because of \"staffing\".... AGAIN. This is frankly the last straw. We are going to cancel our dogs from Banfield and will never be back. I called the Franklin Ranch Pet Hospital while my wife was on hold (she's still on hold and just driving to Banfield now) and they answered immediately. Franklin Ranch even scheduled an appointment for today (same day) at noon to look at our dog. I don't know what has happened to this location, but something changed and everything has been awful. I do NOT recommend signing up for this location and will never recommend Banfield to anyone.

I am so very disappointed in Banfield. 13 years ago when we brought our chihuahua to Banfield they were great; appointments available in a reasonable time, promptly answered the phone, and they followed up on everything. I don't know what happened between then and now, but its not the same company. It took them 4 weeks and 5 phone calls to respond to Chewy for my dogs medication prescription despite saying each time \"we did it\". Surprise surprise, Chewy never received any correspondence from Banfield. No one answers the phones, and when they do, they put you on hold for 20 minutes then send you to voice-mail they never use. I had to drive over to the location and wait 45 minutes in the waiting room to get them to do something, after calling multiple times today. I have been with Banfield for over 10 years, and I have just cancelled my optimum wellness plan because of how incredibly bad the customer service is. Believe it or not, this is the better of the two locations, which says a lot. If they're ignoring the humans, i wonder how they are treating the animals. As soon as the Banfield optimum wellness plan goes up for renew for our other dog, we will not be going back here again.

Great location separate from Petsmart. Love the people here, especially Amber W. She was so great with our cat!!!
