This place is ridiculous..this morning I come in you have only 2 tellers in training working the window ..you have one lady sitting at a desk seeing this line get long.. like 12 people in line at 11:13 am people need to get there money before lunches are over ..I don't understand how you only have 2 tellers in training and the person I charge who isn't with a client can't get up there and helpMove things along ...definitely don't waste your time at this branch

We have been banking with G1 for about 10 years. We recently opened another account for the sole purpose to keep track of money and payments for an insurance claim on our home. We deposited a check from State Farm Insurance, drawn on a JP Morgan Chase account. G1 put a 7 day hold on all but $10K knowing FULL well that we needed this money immediately to pay the contractor who rebuilt our kitchen. His bill was $38K and we had to tell him we could only pay $10K because that bank won't release OUR MONEY!!!!!! WTF happened to loyalty and customer service. Is G1 so fricking tight that they are afraid to pay on an Insurance check. I sent them a letter from State Farm showing that the check has cleared AND THATS STILL NOT ENOUGH PROOF!!!!!!!! The branch manager of the Elk Grove Branch, Danielle Hogge who said I'm ALWAYS AVAILABLE has yet to respond to my phone calls or emails.IF YOU DON'T WANT ANY HEADACHES.......Use another financial institution that has some sense of loyalty.

Always good service when I come here, they are always nice. Lately there has been very very long lines inside and sometimes only one person working because the other person went on break so that is reason I am giving 4 stars

Most of the branches have varying customer service qualities. From the low end to the acceptable. But as for the call center your customer service sucks.. I don't even want to describe what the young ladies attitudes are but the word starts with a B. Needless to say my relationship with golden one has come to an end. A member owned and not for profit Bank should not be spending millions of dollars on a city-owned arena call Golden 1 center. I think I spent too much time focusing on their public appearance and taking care of their members. And don't ever complain or file complaints against their back or they will retaliate against you like they did me. When I noticed funds disappearing for my account I suspected that identity theft was going on and it was being portrayed by somebody within the bank. So instead of investigating the issue cashier's check that wasn't worth the paper was written on unless you went to Golden One to cash it. And I'm sure not all my funds were refunded back to me. If you have an existing account I would sincerely suggest you look at all your statements going back at least a year and if you see anything something it doesn't make any sense you probably have some kind of frog going on yourself. And if you do complain to every Bank regulation agencies you can. FDIC BBB etc so alpha suggesting I closed when we open my account they wanted me to write a letter explaining why I deserve to be a customer there and it would take 30 days to reapproved. So needless to say I told him to pick her up and kiss my a*** Checking account at a competing branch that offered $200 free to my checking account which I took promptly. And if you have it back with golden one I suggest you not even bother to try

Needed to stop and do an inside transaction..Closest Golden 1 to me is over an hour away..But here I am surrounded and that is a big plus.Four people in front of me, and also customers visiting with the other reps.Glad I stopped and was able to take care of my transactions without any problems..

Worst bank ever. I have a car loan I pay 640 dollars a month on. Had the loan over 5 years, for two years I have been fighting with them because they said, I have missed a payment. Actually the payment was made early and they didn't advance it to the following month. I have had to prove 3 times that the payment was made. They have told me they would reverse the late fees and fix it all the while ruining my credit for payments that I proved were made. They even photo copied my recites and assured me it would be fixed 7 months later still saying I missed a payment. Im over this bank and never want to deal with them ever again. Horrible service horrible bank!

I always get so nervous going to the bank! Once every 2 weeks i have to deposit my tip money and i just have to say Maxwell Hill is a phenomenal employee! He works so fast and is extremely helpful and kind! Almost everytime i go in he is ready to help me and it makes the nerves about going to the bank disappear!

They randomly rejected my routine balance transfers between two Golden 1 accounts with my name on them after months of allowing it and with no provided explanation. When calling customer service, I was finally told they now realize I am a secondary on one account so they blocked the transfer. My name is still on both accounts and this is not acceptable, especially without warning right before bills are due. They have since held the rejected money for weeks and then slapped me in the face with fees for the ACH requests that were impacted by their own inconsistency.Edit: The second customer service member I called quickly recovered my lost money, waived the fees, and helped create a workaround using cross account transfers. I changed review from 1/5 to 4/5.

I believe this business is racist. They refused to cash a government issued stimulus check to a married couple. They provided valid identification with matching a address. The wife has had an account with golden 1 for sometime. The so called reason they could not cash the check was that the married couple did not have a joint account. How ever the married couple in the past have cashed multiple checks issued from the IRS with golden 1 in the past. It is standard for the IRS to to have the names of both man and wife on the check, therefore they must both be present when cashing the check. I went to another golden1 location and proceeded to tell me that there is no such policy.

This is for all the golden 1 banks in the area . You don't know how to train your staff on a representative payee records account for social security. I have been at this since 12 /2019! I was shamed and made to fell like a pos for paying for my mother's dementia home bills. Even right now I am getting f with for this account. I ordered checks over 2 weeks ago. No checks. I can't leave at this time because of having to pay for my mother's home. I was told so many different things on this account that I have documented what happened! I can still go to a golden 1 and deposit the check where ever. The tellers are not trained correctly! Handling SS you are treated like a criminal.

I am only giving one star because I have to. I should have read the reviews before entering this Golden 1.The staff is very rude. The lady who did not help me out. Called me a name. I've never dealt with someone being so unprofessional. I will never go to this Golden 1. People take your business else where!
