Always kind and gentle with my cats. Always courteous to me and the wife. Been all over the U.S. one of the best offices hands down.

So my dog started scratching his ear and shaking his head. I figured he had an ear infection so I called the vet. We just had an annual exam about a month ago. I asked them to check his ear, which they did and confirmed his ear infection and prescribed meds. Problem is 1: they charged me for a full annual exam even though that is it what was required or asked for. Bill was $108 to get ear meds!!! 2: they want you to sit outside and force you to wear a mask to come in and pay even though it is not mandated. 3: every time I come they start the appointment late. The appointment was quick and ended at 3:20, but it took until 4:00 for me to get the dog and pay the excessive bill. 4: a vet assistant called to explain how to apply the ear meds. I tried to stop her to provide information multiple times but she would not let me talk. I finally got her attention and asked if I could please speak after being talked over multiple times. 5: they called me to the front door to pay the bill, said they would meet me there. But the door was locked. I waited a minute and then finally rang the bell. Someone came out from behind the desk and asked me who I was there for. There was only one other person there and they asked me to come in.... ??? I guess they had my dog for so long that they forgot who I was? 6: I will be looking for a new vet. I think this one has been severely affected by the lack of personal contact with its customers and has probably lost focus. 6: all that being said, I think they were at least nice to my dog.

My dog is doing great. They only thing she needed was her rabies shot updated, so I book an appointment with a technician. They took her at the door and gave her back to me 5 minutes later. THEY CHARGED ME $41 for "technician exam/consultation" and also the shot. REALLY? What consultation? She was there for the shot only!! I didn't ask any questions and if she was examed I got no feedback at all!!!! If I want a consultation or an exam, I want a doctor, not a technician. They basically overcharged me for her shot.

We called a few vets when looking for care for my cat, and by far they were the nicest and most informative on the phone. I guess that's why my best friend's parents have been taking their dogs there for years. We just had his first appointment and literally every person was nicer than the last. The vet was super sweet and took excellent care of my baby. Also, their prices seem very reasonable compared to some other vets I've visited in the past. I cannot say enough good things about this place and I would definitely recommend!

Laura Takata is unethical to say the least!!! Both my dog and my cat have been patients here for over a year and ALL encounters with Laura Takata left me irritated and dissatisfied. She is condescending and prioritizes herself over your animals. When a question of pricing was brought up she basically threw a fit and sent a long email stating that she was canceling the future treatment for my kittens worms. HOW EXTREMELY UNETHICAL to start and not fully finish treatment, only because her feelings were offended. I strongly advise that you avoid this place if you can. The niceness of the rest of the staff does not compensate for the despicable behaviors of Laura Takata. Her license should be removed as she clearly cares more about herself then the animals she "cares for."

Wonderful care for our 4 legged children. Please, if you're looking for a veterinarian call them.

Our current vet couldn't get our dog in for a week to look at a lump on her neck, so I contacted Hatton to schedule an appointment for my dog to be seen and was told they can't accept her because she already has a vet. This is ridiculous!! I would never recommend a vet that will pick and choose which pets it will see based on the fact that they already have a vet.

Dr. Takkatda is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. Extremely rude, unprofessional and uneducated. She shouldn't be around animals or even humans for that matter. Worst vet in the Sacramento/ Elk Grove region. Please take your animals anywhere else if you actually care for your animals.

I have been using this vet for the last two years. Dr. Chen is great, as well as Tasha and Judy. The other vet can be extremely critical, even knowing the let's last that isn't associated with its current owner and can come across as rude. Scheduling issues are NONSTOP as well as tacky service. I had a (nonserious) emergency with one of my intact female dogs this morning, they said they just didn't have the time to fit her in. I took her to an ER vet, thankfully and got her taken care. But then Hatton calls me a few hours later AND WANTS TO SCHEDULE MY DOG'S SPAY AFTER HAVING NO INTEREST IN HER EMERGENCY. This vet clinic is in it for the money. The other vet is who I'm referring to. Be aware.

I normally don't write that many reviews on people but you guys should be aware of these people. After taking the my pets here for several years I came to realize that all they care about is peoples money, not your pets health.

Came here a couple of weeks ago for end of life services for our family cat of the last 16 years who was deteriorating extremely fast and we knew it was time. Called over 15 vets in the area and this was the only place that would allow us to stay with her while she passed despite all of the covid19 stuff going on. Every other place was "drop off only" which we could NEVER have done. The staff was able to get us in the next day and they were absolutely amazing. Not only was the whole team extremely sympathetic and patient, you could tell that Dr. Chen was an extremely caring vet. He was so gentle with our cat and let everyone stand around comforting her as she passed. Despite grieving our loss when we left, all of us felt a sort of relief after because we felt that she was able to pass in the best possible way. We received a beautiful engraved box with her ashes and a hand written letter with her paw print from Dr. Chen. So grateful we were able to find this vet in the time that we needed them!

We love Dr. Takata. She's the best vet we could ask for. One thing we were worried about was going to a vet that mostly cared about taking your money but you can tell she really likes to help the most she can. I've been taking my dog to Hatton for over 4 years now. The staff is very friendly and they always find a way to squeeze us in for last minute appointments when necessary

Christmas was stressful when Shiloh became lethargic and weak, on the brink of death, I called Hatton Veternarian Hospital and they immediately had an opening for Shiloh. Dr. Chen and his staff took her blood and checked her out, determination: Autoimmune Disease with few options to live at 17% red blood count! 1) transfusions @$3K or 2) intense medication - steroids. Dr. Chen patiently went over the details before I decided to do the meditation route (more affordable for me). To date, I have taken Shiloh in 4 times spending $100-$250 per visit and she is fully recovering. We are going to be slowly weaning Shiloh off the steroids beginning today! Great office and awesome Doctor.
