The next upcoming year I'll be switching to a new medical facility with my new insurance so I thought I might write a review for Sutter. I've been coming to Sutter for the past 6+ years, my primary care doctor was good and my experience with the urgent care was alright. However getting an appointment with a dermatologist is impossible. I had even received a referral letter from a doctor here and they still wouldn't let me schedule an appointment. I'll be switching back to the doctor I had before Sutter. Hopefully their facility has better office service.

I had the worst experience with Sutter during the worst moment of my life. I found out from my private OBGYN that I had a second trimester miscarriage. I had to get an ultrasound done the next day from Sutter for whatever reason. To confirm what we already knew? I'm not sure exactly what my paperwork said but it did say "abortion". The lady (Kris, older lady) at the front desk said to me "I hope your baby is cute and you don't do it." I was completely numb and caught off guard that I just sat down. This was a planned pregnancy and loved so so much. We were devastated when we got the news and she threw so much salt in my wounds. I have never felt so low in my life and cannot believe she said this to me. I don't care what your beliefs are but it's not anyone's business. I will never return to Sutter for any reason and not recommend them to anyone.

Been going to Sutter for 20+ years and I am fed up with a number of things that I've experienced in the past several months. - appointments are over two weeks out for a general appointment - forget trying to cal to book a specialist appointment (mri or specialist doctor) unless you plan to wait over an hour on the phone on hold- after care "emergency" care now needs an appointment meaning you have to go to ER to be seen for a simple issue. - 9 hour wait at ER for 2 stitches - messages to your primary doctor takes up to two days to return and with information that is not consistent to questions asked in original email- the over worked support staff has become rude and non personal. I suspect this is due to their short staff or work balance. Imo, we pay for premium service that Kaiser did not provide however I. Or ask, is there even a difference?!

Sutter Medical Group has this medical facility in Elk Grove / Laguna Creek area back to the day when Laguna Creek just developed 30+ years ago. The facility still looks up to date. All visitors and employees are required to wear a face mask when they go inside the building. But don't worry! They have free face masks everywhere if you don't have one. The lab and x-ray are located at the ground level, and most of the doctors' offices are upstairs. They have a listing right in front of the elevators. The parking lot is enormous. I may not get the parking spot I want. But I never have problems getting a parking space not very far from the main entrance.

What type of doctors office cancels visits for Covid like symptoms. Isn’t that what a doctors office is for to get help when you’re kids are sick? No phone support no other options offered. You can’t even talk to the office directly and have to go through the general receptionist. And their “high priority” messages are apparently not a priority.. been waiting 2 hours for a call back.

Worst possible place to go to. Avoid at all costs. Incompetent staff, billing department makes mistakes with insurance providers. I would never go to this place again.

Terrible! We made a Saturday appointment for my 16 year old who desperately needs help for severe depression and we were hoping for input and/or referral to the Mind institute to find out if there's deeper root issues. But PA and office staff refused to see him because we were told 10:30 by the scheduled yet they tried to say it was a 10:20 appt and we were 10 minutes late. Are you kidding me?!? There was NOBODY there, not one person in the waiting room. Not to mention we would have been earlier had the back door not been locked and we had to get back in the car to drive around to find an entrance that was open. They did not even bother to find out that it took me an hour just to get him out of bed and convince him to go. Pulling him out of bed, bargaining, bribing... They do not care for their patients, we are a slot, an appointment, money. That PA needs to take a class on compassion- she should NOT be in this profession since she has no willingness to help. I'm disgusted. We will be switching out and never be back to that Peds and Sutter can thank that lovely PA for disappointing service. We needed help, relied on our provided and were sadly let down. I'm in tears for the lack of help for my son. I hope she sees this review and gets remedial training on customer care. Ask the right questions before turning away a CHILD that really needed to be seen.

Why is the Security Guard parked in the handicap spot and she's not handicapped? She was sitting in her car when we parked in our handicap stall.

I’ve loved my time with Sutter. The doctors are great and worked with me when I got sick. They care about the little things. For example they matched my checked sticker with my bandage when I had my blood drawn.

Open on Saturdays which is a plus, starting at 7am. Medical Office Building #2 (Urgent Care) entrance, I arrived around 7:10AM and was #6 in line for check-in. There were maybe 10-12 people already seated in the waiting area. I did not know about making an appointment ahead of time and thus was a walk-in; will definitely remember that next time via the app or website. Social distancing while in line, masks enforced. When you get up to the counter, answer two Covid questions verbally and then fill out a white form with a clean pen. To be honest, if these blank forms were made available with clipboards and pens, you could fill it out while in line which would save a bunch of time! No ID check, but if they couldn't find you in the system or had a question about your form they'd call you back up. If you had an appointment, check-in was to the leftmost window and I believe they had a different colored form. Patients may be called out of order, but I kept an eye out for the lady who was ahead of me in line anyway. I got a seat where I could see past the reception window into the hallway to see whenever they'd call the next person. This wasn't that useful, as I couldn't tell based on how many labels they were holding whether that meant a single patient with a lot of tests, or several patients with less tests. Anyway, it took me about a 45-minute wait until I was called. Exam room #1, Sara P was my phlebotomist and it went pretty quick, urine sample as well no issues. Interesting while waiting though, the observations/overheard things -- whether people needed to fast for their test, come back later, whether addition paper lab order needed, people registering for their parent or child, etc. If I have another lab test, I'll try to go to the newer facility in Natomas during the week.

Sometimes in life you get back what you give. With little exception it's been good stuff for me at this facility. I've had my periodic lab work done right here for many years. I'm reasonably certain that over time this has been under at least a couple of groups that were not Sutter. I'm also reasonably certain that it is now under Sutter and it's operations. Today's shining star for me was Amellia. What a sweet kind and caring phlebotomist. We were all masked up but the kindness and smile in her eyes alone gave me a welcomed boost to my day. Pro tip to the cranky people out front: make an appointment to spare the arduous wait times. I get it many of us can get hangry with the fasting etc. I was in and out in just about 15 minutes. I suspect most of that time was my issue as I arrived 15 minutes early. I had the usual glares from those who thought I was cutting the line. In fact it's as simple as making that online appointment. I ran across this options years ago. It recently escaped my mind and I was in a very large line. Likely it was going to be at least an hours wait. I popped out my phone and say an available appointment and grabbed it while I'm line for check in. When I arrived at the desk I mentioned my appointment and was able to get in for lab work in a matter of minutes. I get it labs and the process can be trying. Please be kind to the hard working staff doing a mostly thankless job. Today the nice woman and check in thanked me for nothing that I had an appointment. While it's been a variable experience for me. Far more often than not kindness out is reciprocated with kindness back. For today the kindly started with Amellia and was reciprocated leading to a very pleasant chat with a very sweet individual. Thanks again to the staff I encountered today and a huge shout out to Amellia for her exemplary kindness.

First of all, this place is a barn. Very dirty and old. Staff was rude with a negative attitude. After appointment my daughter was issued a prescription for albuterol that she was supposed to start immediately and continue every 4 hours. We went to pick it up and it was never called in. We called Sutter and they said it would be taken care of. We tried again next day and it still wasn't there. We are on the third day now and it still hasn't been taken care of. Ive called multiple times and they said it would be figured out but they still haven't followed through. Everyone can be nice but when integrity is lost , none of that other stuff matters. Especially when it's your kid who is having lung problems.
