We took our puppy Winston here to get his second round of shots and the entire team was SO helpful and kind! The employees here (special shoutout to Jaq and Sarah) were very knowledgeable and helped recommend some awesome things for our dog. I highly recommend getting your dog vaccinated here & browsing around after. I saw them helping another family find some stuff as well- it's so nice to see employees engaging with customers in such a helpful and supportive way. We will definitely be coming back for our final round of shots and look forward to seeing the team again :)

Went in to look for an XL dog raincoat. Had several quality brands on clearance. Found a cute reversible pink/red striped/pink fur, zip up by Youly that was perfect! Ended up being too small. But, the store was clean, well stocked & the staff was very pleasant. Took it back and was given a refund quickly, with no issue. Will definitely go back.

I come here every single month for the past 2 years to get dog food. The hours have changed back and forth for the past two years the ONE time I'm on my way here and my pick up order is ready I call the store and talked to someone and told them that I will be there in 5 mins prior to them closing if they can have my order ready I can grab and go I get there at 7:03 no one is upfront understandable. Then I proceed to wait for my order at wingstop and there come two women out of the store and I asked them I called in and told them I'll be there and they said it's fine and they are like no we are closed we are closed then why did you verbally advise me it was fine my dogs don't have food and she's like we are closed too bad come tomorrow. I'm just very upset with this and how rude she was I showed them my phone where I called ahead of time and asked. The person who was speaking to me I understand was pretty straightforward with no empathy and the girl next to her was just laughing. These new people they hire have no respect and it just angered me so much. I've done my business with you guys for so long and even calling ahead I was told it was fine. This location is just going downhill just like it's employees and customer service.

I have been taking my Pug to Petco for grooming the past 4 years, and the past 3 here in Elk Grove. Initially, I wasn't happy with how my dog was treated, or how they treated me. I kept going and changing groomers until I found the perfect one, Ariel. For the past 2 years, every 2 months we go in for grooming and things have been great, never a missed appointment, great service etc. Then about 3 months ago, I brought my dog in for their grooming appointment the employee said I missed an appointment. I explained that is incorrect as my appointment was today. When the employee looked into the confusion, they found that they apparently had made a change to my appointment and never notified me. Twice they called to reschedule, all the while customer service was back to where we started...rude, and unprofessional. This last appointment I was told Ariel is not available and had to choose another groomer and a new time/day. Typically for my grooming appointments knowing the traffic down Laguna and Elk Grove Blvd, I leave 10/15 minutes early. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment, which is typical if there are no traffic issues. Past practice is if the groomer is busy, she calls someone over to check in my dog or they will stop and check us in and place my dog in a cage until she's ready. Upon arrival I was waiting at the check in desk and the groomer was grooming another dog. She looked over and saw me, I saw her reach and grab her phone and text someone; shortly after another employee walked up, passed me and they chatted in the grooming room. The second employee then walks out and says, "Your appointment is at 10, correct?" To which I said, "Yes," and they walked away saying nothing else or acknowledging my response. At this point it is 11 minutes to 10 and I've been standing there for 4 minutes. I stood waiting for another 4 minutes when the manager walked past me (no acknowledgement) and went in to talk with the groomer. Finally, I turned to the second employee who is now at the cash register and is just standing there doing nothing and said, "Is anyone going to check me in?" This is after 8 minutes of standing there while each of them passed me with no acknowledgment. Her response, "Your appointment is at 10, right?! That is what you said?!!" My response, "10 minutes is early is better rather than 10 minutes late, right?" I have reached the final straw of how they treat their customers, I walked out and told her to cancel my appointment! I have two spoiled dogs, that get groomed, outfits, leashes, collars, and lots of food and treats all of which are purchased at this location. I'm certain I've spent a few thousand over the years and I will never spend another penny at this store! All this could have been prevented by a simple "Looks like you are early, unfortunately, we cannot take her in until the exact appointment time." Or something to that effect, but to walk by us as if we were not standing there and treated this way by all three employees (one of which is MANAGEMENT), this obviously is an acceptable practice of theirs.

This is the first time I visited this store. I was severed very well. The young lady there was very helpful, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I got everything I needed and would come back for more service and stuffs.

Came at 8:40 PM. Window says that closing hours is at 9 PM. There were 20 minutes left! Dorrs were locked, but lights were left on. No cashiers inside at all. I knocked on the door twice, no response. Very upsetting that this happened. Also, why is this place called Petco Dog Training, and that it closed at 6PM? It doesn’t even have the info of the actualstore itself! Very unprofessional. Will not be going here again if this happens one more time.

The people there were very welcoming, asked me if I needed help finding anything, then again when checking out they found a coupon for me to knock off a dollar off the total. And finally super nice guy offered to take my purchase out to my vehicle for me - I could handle it but I appreciated the offer. I always enjoy going in where other animal lovers are at, makes one feel very welcome. Thanks for having awesome employees!

The staff are so friendly and know my dog by name. Also, my dog and I enjoyed the training offered at this location for adult dog obedience level 1. Location is convenient and offers a vet clinic sometimes.

This is one of those mini petco locations, definitely doesn't have as much stock as the larger box stores but I find myself coming here quite often compared to the larger store on Laguna. The nice thing about this location is that it generally less busy and a quick way to get those small emergency items for your high maintenance animal. Even with the small size, they still host classes here (I have attended any of them but have seen them set up) and they have all the basics you need to keep your animals alive. One thing to note is that they don't have cats or other pets for adoption, this can be a negative or a positive depending on if you are prone to picking up cats for adoption. In this case it's a positive as I've hit my cat allotment for the year. The staff has been warm and friendly and about the only thing I've had an issue is sometimes parking can fill up but it shares a lot with quite a few stores so it's bound to happen.

I just wanted to spot light one of your sales associate, Ashley. I went in to Petco looking for a few things for our new puppy and she was more than knowledgeable and led me to the right product for our new pup. I appreciated how she didn't mind stepping away from a tasks to assist me. Honestly everyone in the store that day was exceptional and friendly. My experience here was much better than any other location I've gone too in the past. Thank you Again Ashley for your help.
