Switched insurance to have a local Dr. but was told 3 months after signing up that the rolls are full and they have no room for me locally. Super frustrating when they showed available physicians to select from in EG but then pushed me to a different facility 15 miles away after my enrollment period expired. Bait and switch.

My doc, Dr. Herrador is leaving. UC Davis called and left me a message stating they made an appt for me and if I wanted to continue having my meds approved, I would need to come to this appointment. I did and it was with a “locum?” Doc, Allison Steinmetz. I was very concerned about losing my doctor and I was also told they didn’t have a new doc for me, and I’d have to be seen by “floaters” which is what she was. When she came in to the room, she wanted to know what I was there for. I basically told her the meds to continue on schedule. She said she couldn’t do 2 of them. When she said what else, I told her I’ve been having trouble breathing. There were other concerns but she threw her hands up and said this is too much, I can’t see you for all of this. I didn’t get any sense of concern, warmth, ANYTHING. She smirked through most of the visit! What a difference coming from Dr. Herrador to her!! I finally broke down cause I felt so helpless and don’t know where to go for my health care! I have heart issues, breathing problems and many other things but now I’m being told I can’t get a regular doc unless I go to another clinic. I live in Galt so the closest is midtown or Rancho Cordova! WTH is going on?! All I can say is if you come across this doctor, cancel your appointment!! I can’t imagine how an elderly person would feel about a visit like I had today! I honestly don’t know what will happen from here, I’m completely at a loss! On top of all that… I pay for this!!Disgraceful!

I had complained to her that I was having trouble swallowing and felt at times like I was choking. I told her that my previous endocrinologist would schedule ultrasounds of my thyroid every 6 months. She told me that this was not necessary and there was nothing wrong with to cause the sensations and difficulties in swallowing I was feeling. I had a second opinion. That doctor scheduled an ultrasound and found a new nodule in my thyroid near my trachea. It was small and he said we would keep an eye on it and asked about my swallowing feelings. Approximately a month ago, I had a routine ultrasound that the nodule discovered while I was living in California double in size in about 6 months. He recommended a FNA biopsy. The results came back 2 weeks later and I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma. I have had surgery to remove my entire thyroid and 3 lymph nodes.. If Dr. Garcia-Vargas had been a good doctor, and listened to my concerns my cancer would have been caught earlier.

Only recommend going here for something very specific, like a specialist. Their prices for basic care visits are $500+ (my insurance only covered about $100 on average and the rest I had to pay out of pocket). I got my reoccurring infection treated multiple times at a nearby urgent care and was charged way less (try $80) than going here. Something as easy as getting diagnosed and prescribed antibiotics for a very common infection shouldn’t be $500 per visit.I would also like to add they threatened to send me into medical debt over a bill that was less than $200 and hadn’t been sent to the right address. I hadn’t been getting my bills, and it turns out they were sending it to an old address that I hadn’t used in over a year. And they even stated the mail had been returned to them and not received. Ridiculous!

Had an appointment at 10 and didn’t leave 12 why does it take an hour for discharge papers? I thought it was a one time fluff but every time we come here they can’t seem to be bothered or are mindful of peoples time. Looking at the other reviews they definitely do not care.

I was charged $700 for 30 minutes of them being absolutely helpless, I still have pain in my breast and they said I was fine, they clearly just care about a paycheck. Absolutely insane that I was not helped in any meaningful way and was still being charged $700 for three to touch my breast and say I'm okay. Horrible healthcare experience.

I have been at Uc Davis for many years now, and I have zero complaints with ANY provider I have seen here. My primary care physician is Dr. Sarah Louie and she is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I don't know what I would do without her, she has the best bedside manner. She listens and is just so sweet! I can't express enough what an amazing doctor she is. Every other provider I have seen when she is not available has also been great. I will say they are very busy, if you need an appt I would recommend booking in advanced but while some appts can't wait any provider will be amazing. I will say one thing coming from dental background working as a registered dental assistant and working front, the front office receptionist are very unpleasant.

I gave it 4 STARS only because there is no such thing as perfect anything. The care we've had at UCD/EG is the best.! The facility is always clean, plenty of parking, never crowded. Staff is attentive and basically no waiting more than 10 minutes. The down side is having to drive all the way to downtown for special services. We live south of Galt so it is quite a drive to downtown. But other than that, we are very happy with UCD.

Had an appointment with my primary care physician Dr. Chethana Eswarappa…dear god help us all.I waited 2 months for this visit just for my doctor to say “yes I understand you have a brain injury. However, I just don’t like writing additional documentation for people because it wears me out…& then I’ll have to write something for everyone”.News flash LADY. THATS YOUR JOB! What a great doctor…denying someone with a ADA traumatic brain injury a letter for school/work because she’s lazy. Thanks UC Davis Health for nothing.

I don't usually need a doctor visit very often but twice in the last year I have had serious health problems I felt I couldn't manage at home. I have been a patient at UCD Elk Grove for 20+ years with no complaints. But this year I feel completely abandoned by their system. There are no available appointments for months. There is no Urgent Care. They want to dump you by calling 911 or heading to the ER. They don't answer their phone (during regular business hours) when you are referred to your GP's office. You stay on hold forever. They are obviously severely understaffed. As a health care provider they are absent. If you can get into seeing a doctor, they are caring and great. But their system blocks you from getting the care you need.

I am new to the area and made an appointment with Dr. Luu for a physical. When I arrived I was told I couldn't get my physical because it was my 1st time seeing Dr. Luu and he only does a "meet and greet" for an initial visit. What a money grab!!. I wasted an hour driving, gas, time off work, and this joker wants e to pay for a meet and greet! Shame on Dr. Luu and shame on this medical group for not telling me in advance. I'm obviously not going back
