I came in to re-up and buy a new foundation I’ve been wanting to try out (spent around $300 total). I asked the makeup artist to shade match me. Instead of swatching properly, she picked one random shade, brushed me off with “I don’t know, you pick,” and then walked away leaving foundation on my face with no wipe or direction. That’s not only insulting, it’s unsanitary.
When I asked the lead for help, she offered a wipe but no accountability. As a manager myself, I know staff behavior reflects training and culture. No customer spending hundreds deserves to walk away with less dignity than they walked in with.
I usually shop Ulta online, but this was my first time at this location—and it will be my last. Respect, professionalism, capable staff, and proper training should be the bare minimum.

Horrible service at the salon! Daughter went in for a bang trim she came out with layers they gave her a hair cut! Elite at scamming people we specified that all we wanted was a bang trim! We gave specific simple instructions and they couldn’t even follow!

The salon service is not good at all . I don’t understand how they can wash your hair first and then cut it. Then do the blow out after cutting your hair . Which means you have hair everywhere and to wash it all over again . . Maybe do the hair cut then wash the hair . Also you pay for Elite services but get an assistant to finish the job . Why would anyone want to pay for full elite services with an assistant service. I am so confused. I feel like they move around too much and not finish taking care of their customers they go from one customer to another . Their only worry is the money apparently and not providing amazing service to that one customer that they should be focusing on. Maybe schedule less people to provide better service . I will not be returning ever again .

Anisa, I OWE YOU MY LIFE!!!
I went in so frustrated with my routine right before a 4-day music festival. She walked me around the entire store and set me up with sunscreen, primer, foundation, a makeup brush, setting spray, and brush cleaner. She listened to me and understood what I needed so well! She explained how to apply everything and gave me great tips, too!
Every recommendation she made was a 10/10. When I got home and did a full makeup test, I told my boyfriend we had to go out to dinner because I felt so beautiful. I had HOT POT, and my makeup still looked amazing afterward. Girl, thank you!!!

Came in originally for a facial cleanser. I left with 6 more other items !! All thanks to Nanda!! I had some concerns about darks spots and pores opening during the hot weather. Nanda helped out big time and showed me items compatible with my skin tone and needs/ advice on keeping my skin hydrated. Within a week not only did my skin feel rejuvenated and glowing but felt even more happy to see the difference ( all before a trip to Mexico). Thanks Nanda!! for you’re expertise, highly recommend checking her out if in the Elk Grove area. 👍🏾⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I went here a couple of days ago to buy a couple of colognes with my daughter, and it was a positive experience. Our space was respected, the staff was nearby to help us when we needed it, and everyone was super friendly. Even today, when I went to return a blush, the staff was super friendly and helpful. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to for my makeup needs.

I went it with my mom who's never worn makeup, to set her up with all the basics. Trinity was incredible! She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the shades and products. Even after feeling like we were taking too much of her time she suggested more products and helped us until we collected all we needed. I also appreciated her fun and quirky comments that made this an overall fun and memorable experience. Thanks girl ♥️

Trinity was the most kind, helpful, and warming person ever. She showed me literally every product she was wearing and then showed exactly how she applied it, I left feeling somehow relaxed and feeling super pretty. She honestly deserves a raise for how amazing she was. If you ever have any makeup questions just ask her she will got you! 13/10 service I hope her pillow is always cool and has every green light when she drives.

Kim was amazing! Went far out of her way to help me find a moisturizer when she didn't have to. Gave me a bunch of tips and was knowledgeable about skincare. Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is what good customer service looks like!

My sister, mom, and I had a great experience especially with our girl Duanette! She was such a great cashier and offered us so much help with paying and using our points. She was very patient and understanding, great customer service! She even shared the excitement with us for buying our first dyson!!

I love Ulta. This is my happy place, and I tend to go overboard. I try to come in monthly, to de-fur my face. Then I discovered the facials. O! M! G!!!!! Ashley is incredible!! I look forward to yesterday's appointment for so long. When I'm getting waxed, scrubbed, and anything else you can do to a face, I get to drop the stress of life, and it's behind me. Ashley truly does an amazing job, and her personality is perfect. She's kind, thoughtful, and always caring for her client. Really, she's closer to a 10/5 stars. ??????????
Then we're off to the yummy smells of perfumes. I can't pass them by without shopping. I met another very sweet Ulta member. She knows her perfumes. Wow! She was informative and helpful that I bought 2.
I've even met the greatest customers at Ulta and never have a problem waiting in line. Sometimes, it goes by too fast. ? ?
So, in line, I found men's items that I ended up buying for my husband, and he was excited to get something from my awesome day out.

I buy many beauty products from Ulta but this location it’s the worst. I rather going to another location even I have to drive a bit further. It’s always a bad experience in EG location. The floor sales women are so desperate for commission or else. As they follow you everywhere you go. I like to go and check what’s new and read labels. The sales ladies approach to customers every aisle you go. It’s annoying. My bad experience it’s I asked about a product to an old lady that has bad hair, terrible skin and awful makeup that works there abad she couldn’t help. She was clueless about the brand. She told me “it’s what it is”Ulta just hire ignorant employees. From now on, I’m just going to buy from Sephora which it’s much better customer service.

Me and my partner had a terrible experience at this location . The customer service was awful.. Marium was mainly expressing her service in a rude tone such as huffing&puffing / rolling eyes .. I will never go back to ulta beauty in Elk Grove ever again. If anything I would give this place 0 stars .
