If I can give no stars I would. Never had I had so much issue with a bank. We were trying to help our dad (he's in his 70's) reset his online password and they made us go back to the bank 3 times because they couldn't do their job the first time. Then they proceeded to tell us we can't assist him on answering the questions over the phone as to why they made us come back. So I'm assuming they didn't reset the password the first two times. Then they rejected on accepting our power of attorney paperwork telling us we need to submit it online. We told them that we were told to submit it to the bank to scan. But they would not accept it. Until this day we have yet been able to submit our power of attorney's request. Jessica and the other lady were very rude and was enjoying the hassle they were giving us. They were smiling and laughing. The real Karen's of Umpqua.

My wife and I went in to sign our final loan documents at the Elk Grove branch with Michelle Brushilla for a HELOC. Her knowledge of the paperwork that she was having us sign was not very good she had to call and get assistance 2 times and we still did not have a clear understanding of the charges involved which were $250.00. She also informed us that she did not renew her notary license so we would need to go to a nearby UPS store to have the paperwork notarized by them and bring it back to her. It was a very unprofessional situation and she is the branch Manager! We walked out of the loan signing and called customer service and dealt with someone named Katchet that set up a signing at another location in Valley Springs CA. We hope it goes better as we bank with this bank for personal and business and we have never had a bad experience like this. The customer service was awful and I'm not sure if we will continue to be a customer of this bank.

I got a call today from my banker in Antelope where I originally signed up. She was concerned because my account was negative and just accumulated a fee. I had to explain to her that I wouldn't have gone negative if the employees at this elk grove location decided not to be lazy and let my wife sign over her check to me yesterday. She thought it was really weird that they didn't because they DO in fact do that. So the 6 ladies who were standing around doing NOTHING 10 minutes before closing just decided they didn't want to do it and just gave an excuse. So the lady on the phone basically says that maybe no one was around who could do it; nope, gave the excuse that it was third party since my wife didn't bank with them, and even refused to take the last minutes of their day to sign her up. The rep on the phone was very confused as to why we were not helped yesterday. Perhaps it was because my wife's name is very clearly Latin, or perhaps they just pick and choose which customers to like or help, I'm not sure which one it is, but something is very off with the people who work there. As soon as my checks come through electronically, I'm closing my account because putting up with the BS of these Elk Grove employees just ruined our experience with the entire bank.

I've banked with Umpqua bank for over 10 years. I have to say they are much better than any of the big banks out there. All the employees are wonderful. Michelle the manager and Jessica and Jennifer are so sweet. My husband who runs his own business has several accounts in other banks as well also prefers Umpqua much more because of the great customer service you just can't find else where.

Tried to deposit cash into the ATM and the ATM kept my money but did not deposit it in my account so I had to go into the bank and speak to them. When I went in, they said they received an error message from the ATM after that happened and would have to have it serviced and balanced. They took my information down and said they would give me a call. Obviously they were going to have extra money not accounted for once the ATM was balanced and serviced. In the days following, I had to keep calling to follow up because I did not receive any updates or phone calls from them. One of their workers, Michelle, was incredibly rude and not helpful. She cut me off as I spoke and acted as if I was bothering and inconveniencing them. Said she understood and clearly wasn't listening to a thing I said. I was polite and patient and trying to get the money back that their machine took. I got the run around and Umpqua never followed up with me. It is extremely upsetting and irritating. I didn't do anything wrong. The machine took my money. Literally. I will never bank with Umpqua or return there again.

This the worse bank I ever worked with in a comercial loan. Make sure not to deal specially with the loan officer RJ Rieta all lies.

Ive had a bank with umpqua for about 10 years now and have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. When ever I go in there are no long lines to wait in like BOA and I get in and out quickly. Thats all I need in a bank so I highly reccomend Umpqua bank.

Very Friendly staff! Great place to bank if you have kids (nice play area with clean toys). I usually bank in the morning and the longest wait time I've had was about 3 mins. Love how they have fresh hot coffee and current newspapers. Have been with them for years and never had a bad experience.

I have bank many years, as a business owner, treasurer of an association and personal banking, and I believe I'm qualified enough to compare apples to umpquas... this branch (or perhaps it's their small banking culture) doesn't understand customer service. I have called several time to have very pertinent questions answered, and have been placed on hold for unreasonable amount of time. Left messages on there voice mail only to not have them responded, requested call backs and they are too busy... Busy??? Really?? Lousy, small and unsophisticated. They try to market themselves as socially responsible, lol... that too is a joke. It appears to me that Umpqua bank has found a nitch market to survive the financial industry, how else can an "Umpqua" still be around. No doubt, they are doing something right, it sure isn't customer service.
