Brilliant surf shop! I rented a board/wetsuit for two days and had a lesson. Brent & Hagen helped me find the right board for my level as well as giving some useful local surf knowledge. My lesson with Mickey was brilliant, he’s a great teacher and I learned a ton during the two hour lesson. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Socal!

Hands down the best surf shop in Encinitas/ north county. Bryan and Hagen are so helpful and knowledgeable. They clearly really care about the customers and the sport. Would rate higher if I could!

Always wanted to try surfing but don't know a thing about it start here. We were in town from Texas and my 12 yr old son decided last minute he wanted to try surfing and most experience we've had was tubing on the lake. Colin was our instructor, also my son's name, and his energy and communication with my son was perfection! My son has a condition that impacts his coordination but Colin was so patient with him and got just as excited if not more as my son excelled. Colin helped create a memory we will never forget. Only drawback is now we're back in DFW and my son keeps asking how quickly we can get back to the ocean waves not our TX lake waves

Was visiting the area from out of state and wanted to spend a day at Moonlight beach. We rented a boogie board and 8ft soft board surfboard for the day. The girl who helped us and checked us out was very friendly.

We made it back this year and Concept Surf Shop is better than we remembered. Emily helped my son and his buddy get outfitted with bodysuits, and the surf camp they run is second to none. If you're looking for the best surf shop in Encinitas make sure you stop this family operated gem. Appreciated as always.

The employees are so kind and helpful!! Concept always has everything I need and is a great place to learn how to surf. They make everyone feel welcome and happy. Concept Surf Shop is the place to go for all your surfing needs and when you visit Concept, you are supporting locally!!! This shop has every necessity for a beginner surfer to a pro surfer. Brent and Emily are the best owners and have done an awesome job with the place.

This is exactly what you want for a surf lesson! Friendly, knowledgeable and laid back staff. Incredible instructors and easy to sign up and access. My son had a great connection with Max and was up almost right away. He can’t wait to get back in the water.
