I can't rave about this place enough!!! I love coming to French Nails & Spa and my girl Carina has never disappointed with acrylic sets. My sets always last upwards of 5 weeks and look PERFECT (minus grow out but that's expected). Carina pays attention to detail, always nails the shape I ask for, and is able to replicate any inspiration photo I show her. My friend and I have been a regular at this place since the beginning of the year and we can't imagine going anywhere else. I'll be moving soon and am considering making the drive down every month just to have my nails done here. Cannot recommend enough!!

If you need your nails done in Encinitas, COME HERE!! They consistently do an amazing job on every kind of service I've had done here over the last year - acrylics, gels, chrome, everything! They are attentive to detail, have great customer service, and their prices are really affordable for the area. I would recommend calling ahead to see their availability rather than walking in.

I had an appointment with Carina and she was incredible! I had an old gel I had done elsewhere that needed to be changed out because it was time. Carina had me in and out in 45 mins with a new gel color. I don't have a photo but my nails came out perfect! She shaped and painted them perfectly. I will def go back to her. Going forward this will be my new spot!

Well I had a terrible experience there yesterday. Rude rude rude! The woman who was working on me, was obviously in a bad mood when she started. Then the length of my two big toes was different and so I asked her to shorten the longer one a bit she said she couldn't. There was no reason she couldn't have filed it to be more the same length. So I said "I think you can." Then screamed at me, literally screamed "no I can't". I have never been actually literally yelled at like this the manager named saw it happen and didn't say anything except smiled and looked a little embarrassed. I saw the same manicurist being nasty to someone who came in the door and asked for a nail repair. She just harshly said "no!" not: no I'm sorry or I don't think I can help you sorry or anything just "no!" The woman was shocked and said,"Bummer!" And left. The manager should have stepped in and taken over and given that other manicurist the day off or fired her. I came home after paying a lot and filed down my own toenail to make it the same length as the other one. It's a great location nice chairs but I won't be back and I didn't tip. Tip is for good service.

Walked in with a girlfriend on a Saturday afternoon hoping for a mani pedi. Parking is not easy in this area especially on a weekend. There is pay parking underground but only free for the first hour. $63 for gel French manicure and regular pedicure with calluse removal plus tip which was good. I would come again for the quick service and a good job and pricing but definitely make an appointment in advance and keep in mind it might take a while finding parking depending on the day.

I have been to this salon twice, both times courtesy of a gift certificate. On both occasions I found the staff to be very rude. The most recent time was the worst. While I was waiting a woman walked in and asked if they took walk-ins, one of the employees said "not now" and never even looked up at her. The poor woman stood there in shock, as I was, then walked out. No one asked her if / when she could come back, etc. While I was having my pedicure the woman working on me wouldn't make eye contact. Okay, bad day, something else, fine. But just plain rude the entire time. I tried to chit chat, I was nice, smiling, etc. When I went to pay there was quite the upset that I was paying with a GC. I had 2 - one with a balance from last time and a new one. The woman working on me actually tossed the one with the low balance back at me. WHAT?! Another gal - who was very chatty and nice to the woman she was working on - came over to assist, it got worse from there. One gal had told me the price but the next gal said it was higher. I had no problem paying the higher price for an extra service but said "I'm just telling you what she told me." At lest if there is a misunderstanding, be cordial about it. I certainly was. I went to leave there was no follow up on whether I wanted to make another appointment (not that I would)... then when I gave the woman who worked on me a tip (yea, I still did!) she didn't look at me, grabbed it, said "thanks" and walked away. I looked at a gal next to me and said "good luck to you... I won't be coming back here" and left. The thing is, I have another gift certificate! I gave it away, perhaps they will have better luck. Just awful and rude is all I have to say about this place. Interesting there are so many good reviews. Perhaps they were having a bad day when I was there - both times! - but no excuse. Hence, this review.
