I don’t normally leave reviews, but super bummed by the customer service and lack of communication with this company.I love their products and ordered a refill of their hand soap. It’s been almost a month since I placed my order and have yet to receive it. I also contacted them three different times throughout the month (via email, their chat system, and contact form) and still have not received a reply from the company or received my order :-/

If I could give zero stars I would. Local Scoop/The Nada Shop I was so excited to stop in the shop and check it out. As my father and I were walking thru the Lumberyard I noticed the shop. I had heard of shops like this with no packaging in other countries but I did not know we had one in town. I have lived in Carlsbad for over 30 years and have spent a lot of time in Encinitas. Unfortunately the customer service was so unwelcoming I had to leave before I could even enjoy the idea of the store. I was not greeted when I walked in. The store was empty, no one else was in there but the lady at the register area had such an attitude, I guess whatever she was looking at on her cell phone or tablet was more important than her 1 possible customer. I walked up to her to greet her and explained that I hadn't been in there before all she said to me was, "...we've been here four years. We now carry grocery items..." points to the grocery area and then went back to doing whatever was so important at her tablet/cell phone. As I'm looking around, within probably 3 minutes, at the most, a family walks in. OH yeah! She greeted them! They explained it was there first time in the store. She asked if she could help them find something and they said they were just browsing. She then comes out from behind the register desk area and starts to give them the pitch of the store. She says, "....so you've never been here before, we are..." and explains the concept of the store. That is when I left, because apparently I wasn't worthy of the speal, my Carlsbad $ is not good enough for her Encinitas store. HI! Pretty Women movie experience.... "...big mistake....huge!" I will never go in there again, you have kissed my Carlsbad $ goodbye. WOW! Just looked thru the other reviews with low stars, same experience as I had, the lady with the big blue eyes. You need help in C.S. !!!

I can’t imagine that working in retail is that rewarding so maybe that’s why the shop attendant was so awful today. She was on the phone in the door way when I arrived and looked at me with utter indifference so I thought she was a customer. Turns out she’s the shop girl. She said her car broke down on her way to work, perhaps as a explanation as to why she was one the phone? For me, the awful greeting was forgivable maybe it really was the car? So I asked how she was besides the car…her reply was after a brief pause “good….what can I get for you?” Which, in type-face, sounds like it’s not such a rude response, but it was in her demeanor. Like the cool look we got from the door as we walked in, she was just so rude! So I grabbed my refillable bottle and left. I don’t think I’ll go back. I understand bad days but one would think she wouldn’t let her bad day undermine the fact she has a job to do?

I love shopping at Nada. I needed laundry soap. I have my own container I bring in. The person working there filled it fo me and I just pay by the ounce. No wasted packaging or container. This is the way to go. Great laundry soap.

I like arriving with an empty vessel and walking home with it full. I tried the lavender hair conditioner this time . I love that this shop is in our neighborhood.

Love how easy it is to get all my skincare (the masks and the fact that I can fine tune my face oil tincture with different oils I know work for me!!) and soap/shampoo/conditioner refills all in one trip! I especially love there's a grocery option now as well! I'm not sure what all the previous reviews are about.. I've been in multiple times over the last few years and have had nothing but great customer service and help with any questions I had. My favorite products by far are the jojoba oil and conditioner and face masks! Their hand soap is perfect for my office as well - everyone loves the smell!

The shop is now split in 2.Now need to wait in the line to weigh your containers, to then wait in line to pay.Highly perfumed soaps next to nuts and other produce. Not good.Out of hand soap.Body wash now $53 for 64oz. Far better environment friendly options out there.

Such a great idea and the quality of the products I've purchased are really great (I love the cleaner with lavender, a really nice experience to use). I've had the same issue however three times. Twice I purchased prefilled cleaner. The first one opened up in the car and I lost half of the product. No worries, I want to support small business so I overlooked it. The second one I purchased I lost the whole thing in the car. Again, this was on me, I should have known these bottles were hard to stay closed. My main issue was when I returned to refill one of the bottles. I told the woman working that it seems like the bottles become unscrewed and to maybe let people know when they are buying them to be careful. She told me people open them up all the time and essentially said it was my issue. Fine, again no worries. This time however she refilled the bottle for me. Learning from my mistakes, I put the bottle in the drink holder in my car. By the time I was home the whole cap was unscrewed again. In sum, a really great idea, but I think building some kindness and community would really help a lot!

This place is awesome and It’s one of a kind. It has a good selection of everything from household items to skincare (my favorite skin care items are the day serum and the lotion candle). My skin has cleared up so much since I switched all my stuff over 3 months ago.

Love finding how many ways I can reduce my consumption of things that are totally unnecessary(like plastic tubing for toothpaste!?) at Nada. Great people, always a good conversation!

I love the idea of this store. As an eco warrior I was really excited about it. I went in with the intention to buy shampoo and conditioner, was stoked to see they're starting a membership option and was going to sign up without even having tried the products. There was one guy working that barely acknowledged me when I walked in. The place is pretty industrial, with large bins full of all the refill stuff. I told the employee that I had never been there before but he didn't really give me an instructions on what to do. I asked if I'm supposed to fill the bottles myself or if someone does it for me and he just said "either way, whatever you want" but didn't offer to help me out. I wandered around and another couple came in. They had been in before and were attempting to buy containers of multiple products. The employee was not being very helpful to them either and they had to constantly ask questions and ask him to fill the bottles. I stood there for a while waiting after picking up a couple empty bottles that I wanted to fill with shampoo and conditioner. It's not the couples fault it was taking a while and I didn't mind waiting. But then the employee finally acknowledged me again to say that they've been out of the shampoo for months and they recently had just run out of the conditions. Apparently both come from the same person that makes them, so it sounds like that's a bad partnership. Again, the idea of this store sounds super awesome. I'm fine with the prices and everything. They just need to get it together with their inventory and their customer service. I'll give them another try, but I'm going to wait a few months I guess.
