De olmedo was amazing diagnosing, treating and caring for my beloved dog! We were back to full health in ten days after the perfect prescription was provided. We switched from a prior vet to come here as our prior vet misdiagnosed him, wasted a month on the wrong meds and cost us loads of time and money treating! So happy we came here and will continue to do so to keep my boy happy and healthy!

Dr Foster has had a huge impact on improving the health and quality of life for my senior Frenchie! The staff are always great, and I always leave a vet visit feeling like I was listened to and my pet was advocated for.

I was nervous because I had read their yelp review which was not very favorable. I had even considered going to our regular vet but I knew they wouldn’t have any openings last minute. The staff (Tracy especially) were extremely friendly and welcoming . The staff didn’t try and push extra labs/services. The prices were reasonable so we will definitely be back! Thank you!

Can’t speak highly enough about the care we receive at Vetco Total Care Encinitas. Dr. Olmedo, Jake, Tracey, and the entire staff make us feel special and cared for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Went to see about getting microchip information they provide free scan. But decided to get vaccines updated also. Then found out my sweet dog had an ear infection. The staff was incredible. Service was efficient and friendly. Dr. Olmeda was awesome and nurse Nathalie was also 5 star!!! Thank you so much for all your help!!!

Big shoutout to the team at Vetco Encinitas, especially ASHLEY! I was super unhappy with the changes to the vital care premiere plan earlier this year - which Petco has now rolled back. The team here understood and shared my concerns, and took the time to walk me through my options, with amazing transparency! Thank you to Dr. Olmedo and Jake who take great care of my pup. The care and service at this location is incredible.

We went into VETCO last minute at the Encinitas location and were seen by Dr. Olmedo and Brooke. That was the most pleasant vet experience ever! Their prices are very reasonable and affordable. They are super upfront about any pricing. And they go over prices before starting any treatments, so you aren’t going to be surprised with a total at the end. Dr. Olmedo was very knowledgeable, thoroughly check out my dog for multiple issues, and made sure he answered all/any of my questions. He even mentioned some concerns/findings he found (that I didn’t mention, but very much appreciated the thorough checking.) Also, that was the most calm my dog has ever been at the vet. Will definitely be going back to VETCO!

I will start by saying that thankfully I was using a "free new client" coupon when coming here and the vet was nice. However, I brought my new dog that I had rescued two weeks prior in for a checkup and to ask about a few concerns I had. The vet seemed inexperience and I do not think he did a proper check of my dog. My dogs temperature was never even taken, he did not listen to his heartbeat, didn't look in his ears until I asked (said he forgot to), and gave my dog the ok without asking additional questions or doing much of an exam on my dog at all. One of the reasons I came in is because my new dog had loose stool and I saw blood in it as well. The vet again said he was fine and it was probably normal (he is only 9 months old and had been in a rescue 2 weeks prior) and to just come back again if it didn't stop which of course would require me to pay for another exam). Flash forward 1.5 weeks the problem not only didn't resolve but got much worse so I had to pay $100 for ANOTHER exam at a different vet to find out that he has had a parasite this entire time. I am now spending much more money to have him retested, and most importantly my dog has been uncomfortable/ in pain for the last few weeks because of the lack of examination on my dog. Again I will say that the vet seemed very kind and like he had good intentions, but his lack of questions, no real hands on examination of my dog, inexperience, giving my dog the ok without much info, exc caused me to waste time and money as well as leave my dog untreated. Though a free exam seems very enticing, I wish I would have done more research on the vet and just paid for him to go to a reputable place to begin with.
