I am so impressed with H&R Block. I needed to do my dad's tax returns after his passing and didn't want to spend too much.
Aaron was amazing, he really knows the tax laws. He was able to look through my dad's taxes from last year and catch that he still had a loss to carry over from investments. The end result is no taxes due. Just speaking with him, you can tell that he knows his business.
There is no need to pay high prices. I couldn't imagine that anyone would have been able to do a better job.

I had a terrible experience with H&R Block's tax preparation services. My preparer seemed inattentive and preoccupied, even completing my return for the wrong tax year. I had to repeatedly remind him of potential deductions and strategies to maximize my refund. This lack of attention to detail cost me time and peace of mind, and I won't be returning.

I had booked an appointment today for 1000 am. Got there around 0948 and waited patiently for my appointment at 1000. No one showed up and I was very disappointed. They wasted our time and not showing up was very disrespectful. It was 1023 and my husband and I left. We went to the Sherman oaks branch and they were much better suited to take care of us, door was open, kind people there. I DO NOT recommend the h and r block in Encino.

They are terrible. After our long-time CPA died, my husband and I decided to finally give H&R Block a try. One of their CPA's did our joint 2022 tax return. Consequently: 1. We significantly overpaid our federal taxes, which resulted in a very large tax refund. 2. We significantly underpaid our state taxes, which resulted ongoing tax bills from the state that, of course, included late fees. Even though the company has been around for a long time, given our experience, we strongly recommend people go elsewhere to get their taxes done.

Charged me a lot of money, they were paid. They lost the credit card receipt so didn't send to IRS and state. Didn't notify me that they never actually filed. I found out from the urs that it was never filed. I had to go back to the branch after spending hours finding the receipt to prove I paid. 9nce I went back with the receipt they filed. I wanted to get my money back so I can go elsewhere but they would not return the funds. Will never do business with them again

We made an online appointment with Glenn, but when we showed up he said that he had no record of our appointment, so we had to wait for some time before seeing him. After seeing him, we scheduled a follow-up to finalize our taxes, and this time I made an online appointment but also called the office. Over the phone, Glenn and I confirmed the day and time of our follow-up. We arranged babysitters for this appointment, but when we showed up, the office was locked and nobody answered the phone. After waiting for 30 minutes, we went home. After many unanswered calls over the ensuing days, someone else in the office finally picked up and said there was no record of our appointment having been scheduled. After I told this person that our appointment had been verified online and over the phone with Glenn, he said he would look into it, and we have heard nothing -- whether to apologize or to reschedule -- since. Save yourself enormous frustration and avoid this place.

Stood there in front of my pastor on speaker phone to let GLEN know we would be coming in at 6;30. P.MAll of the sudden, Glen decides to totally disrespect me and my pastor,telling us,we don't have to call him and make an appointment. This is the weirdest thing Ive ever heard. Just two days ago I spoke with the receptionist and she told me not to come because Glen had appointments!.Then, for lack of a better term, Glen insulted my Pastor saying that he didn't have to call and play games? I almost fell out of my chair! What a tool. It's also noteworthy that three people I know that got their tax returns paid after they came in and directly out of the money they recieved from tax returns. Glen must be playing favourites! He told us that we needed to pay up front! This sounds like discrimination.If I could give a half star I would. Very rude, and unprofessional, his comments were unacceptable. He must have us all wrong. Some people do not tolerate disrespectful comments like this .Disappointed!

Went in to do my taxes. They said they needed to file for an extension and now I can not get a hold of them. Paid them a lot of money and they STILL haven’t filed my taxes.
