In order to get a certain game they force you to reserve it in advance, or else they might not get the game in at all.I reserved and paid in full in advance to guarantee a game. The day of release came and they didn't have it! But yet Target did.So I got my money back from gamestop and bought it at Target.Gamestop back in the day was great but now they are just a pathetic joke.

Came to this store because no one showed up to open the San Marcos location on Grand. They were supposed to open at 11am and after waiting until 1135am I gave up. When I arrived at this location I was pretty irritated because I needed to fix an issue with my sons pro account (caused by the San Marcos location). Cory was FANTASTIC! Not only did she resolve the issue entirely with a smile on her face she did it all while balancing busy phone lines, other customer complaints and multiple customers needing assistance in store. What a great employee who deserves recognition from GameStop leadership. Thank you for turning my experience around entirely!

The reason why I’m giving this location 1 star is because I was about to purchase two games: Sonic Frontier for the PS5 & Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader for the Nintendo Switch. When I was about to checkout, I noticed one of the cases was broken. I asked the guy if I could switch the case for one that wasn’t broken and for some reason he said no. If I’m going to buy something, I’m not going to buy something that is broken. I don’t see what the big deal or why he couldn’t give me a case that wasn’t broken but he refused. I walked away and didn’t purchase anything. I wish I would have asked for the guy’s name but this happened today (06/24/2023) around 7pm. He was the only employee working at the time. I’ve been buying from GameStop ever since I was little and that’s just bad customer service.

This incident was on 02/10/2023 in the eveningI was picking up Hogwarts Legacy and wanted to use my $25.00 Pre Paid Visa Card. During the transaction the system froze and no transaction occurred.The ladies said hey no worries its not going to pull. They were wrong.IT PULLED MY MONEY AND NOT FOR MY TRANSACTIONPlease see attached picture. Branch manager would not give me name of employees or for herself but did say she would forward my information to upper management on 02/21/2023.Call Corporate, email them everything, and still gotta wait 7-10 business days for maybe a resolution 1. Very disappointed. We bought a Nintendo Switch from the Game Stop at the Mission Valley mall (we were in the area) and the customer service their was great. The clerk who helped us was very friendly and informative. Welp, our charging port malfunctioned before the warranty expired so we googled the nearest store to our home and this one came up. We were looking forward to doing a fair trade in and get a working Switch once again. When we walked in there were two (caucasian) customers whom Jade was helping so we decided to browse while she finished helping them. All the while I could over hear her providing said guest with professional, informative, and friendly customer service. Once she was done she wished them a good evening and went about her personal business. As my husband (bald hispanic) walked up to the counter her demeanor changed drastically. He started telling her the issue but was quickly cut off with a condescending, "we dont have any Switch's in stock at this store" and it seemed that's were she would have ended it if I wouldnt have walked up to the counter and asked what she thought could be wrong with it. She then proceeds to take the switch out of the box and tells us it could be the charger we have and connects it to the charger she has on the counter and again, very condescendingly says, "my charge is working fine" with an obnoxious hand gesture. The proceeds to say, "do you have another charger at home you can use, if not I'd suggest you buy a new one." I proceed to let her know I dont believe it's the charger as the light on the charging port had been blinking continuously. I was confused as to why she was being so short and unprofessional with us provided she was just demonstrating the complete opposite with previous customers. Now, I can't help to feel there was a bit of discrimination. That's the only reason why I mentioned ethnicities. Anywho, as I kept insisting on a solution she then provides us with a store who had Switch's in stock. Like it was so hard?! As we were heading out we thanked her and she didnt even respond. So rude. We were polite enough despite her rudeness. The next day we went to the Game Stop in east Escondido and the young lady there was very professional and friendly despite being the only one working and helping multiple guests simultaneously. She was equally as polite and helpful with everyone. Much appreciated. That being said, thank you Jade for letting us know what Game Stop not to walk into.

Kind of upsetting, I have been here many times and received excellent service. Today I had to call in with my questions as I was at work, and I really seemed more like a burden then a potential customer. I got a new XBOX series X for my birthday and it arrives tonight - I'm super excited but have done no research on games and called to ask a couple questions and I was met with sarcasm and shortness on the phone. Worst part is after I hung up I realized I can buy all those games on Xbox live marketplace and don't have to even use your store. I am someone that likes giving my business to store fronts and you can check my history with you guys Game stop has not lost my business- but this location has. I remember when the GameStop employees were genuinely excited about video games and knew their products and had opinions and shared in my enthusiasm. That's what coming here and nerding out was about for me - today was very disappointing exchange on otherwise my most exciting video game day in 10years

I literally just spent 45 minutes in there to merely check out because David the one employee that they have there is as slow as molasses! When you have three people in line waiting to check out and you're just sitting there chalking it up with one person when you have a line and people have places to be!

Went in a couples days ago with my hubby and the manager and one of his coworkers were very helpful and kind too us trying to help us move our animal crossing information to our new switch. Highly recommend this place

Transactions take very long to complete, around 7 to 10 minutes each. Currently only 5 people allowed inside the store at one time.There is a few up selling parts to every sale. The gentleman working, Brooks, is very good at selling and explaining things very clearly by the way. It's not fun to stand and hear the indecisive person decide. The prices are to make a profit, stop complaining about them. This industry is as tough as your grandfather was smoking cigarettes and eating 20oz steaks every night. No noobs here.
