The VCA system is a bit over priced let’s get that out of the way, and they don’t have a payment plan set up. They do take care credit which helps a lot. That aside for this location all the doctors are great. I especially like Dr. Thomas and Dr. Cu (I might not be spelling that right). They’re great with my cats and I trust them whole heartedly. Dr. Geller is not the most sociable but he is committed and a great surgeon.

I just moved to Escondido so I went today to see how much shots are at this location since my pets were going to be new there, a vet assistant started laughing at me. I felt disrespected and embarrassed.

These fools killed my cat and still charged me $800. Don't trust your fur baby with them.

This is business is dishonest-beware. The staff is nice and they might care about the patients, but they care more about the bottom line, A LOT more, and will manipulate you to pay. I brought in my sick exotic pet and explicitly stated that I did not want any services done with my consent and they agreed to do only the exam. But then when I came back to hear the results, I did not trust their diagnosis and recommendations (of a min $3500 treatment) and wanted to take her for a second opinion. They then listed the "services" they had done, and demanded I pay twice as much as I had agreed to for just the exam, because they would not return my pet to me without payment. I paid the ransom and left in tears, and went to VEG in Encinitas, who were much more transparent, let me stay with my pet as they examined her, and only did the services I consented to. They also determined that there was no hope for my pet at this time, which means VCA was trying to extort as much money as they possibly could before they knew my pet would die. Stay away from VCA. After it got incorporated, it is a Business first, and animal hospital second.

I was so blown away by the kindness and care that everyone at this place showed me and especially Hannah, from walking me through every detail of what to expect and next steps. I came in after a horrific situation with my bunnies and didn’t know what to do. I was showered with love, kindness, attention, and care. Thank you so much for caring for me on this day, it was such a hard day for me but one that God redeemed through the kindness and care that you showed me. Thank you so much for all that you did for me. I will never forget it. God bless you all!

Extremely professional and caring. Don't know if all VCA vets and staff are the same, but the Escondido location is excellent all the way around. I couldn't recommend more!

VCA - Escondido, CAHighly disappointed at the lack of compassion for helping get our dog in this morning by the male receptionist on the phone. My dog had her teeth cleaned and several teeth extractions a few weeks ago. This morning she is having rectal bleeding. I called to get her in and all he said was "Sorry we are booked there is nothing I can do." This is a hospital right?? By the way this is the second time we have called for an emergency appointment and they would NOT see us! Our shih tzu had an eye issues (half popped out) and they wouldn't see her because they were booked!!! If VCA is an animal hospital you should be able to see animals urgently. When I was there with my dog for vaccinations they had an ER for a dog that was hit by a car they saw that dog! But if you call they don't care what the emergency is. I have brought my two dogs in multiple times and when the male receptionist is he pretty much ignores you. No greeting or "How may I help you". NOTHING but RUDE. He just sits on the computer. (lucky I didn't get his name). Anyhow, because VCA doesn't provide time for animal emergencies for current and established dogs for years and because of this male receptionist we will be taking our fur babies elsewhere. In any business the Receptionist is the most important person when welcoming someone to your office.

Shout out to Andrew!!! (And team) Shout out to Dr. Hackett!!!We have an old girl with less-than-amazing teeth! (Understatement!) We knew that her dental was going to be a challenge, and we appreciate the detailed and kind care that they gave to our Cali. We heard from the front desk crew, the dental tech, and the doctor during the day. We were walked through her after-care, and they helped me put her into the car gently and kindly. They prepped me for all of her nighttime craziness as she was coming out of anesthesia. I was prepared for everything and could care for her rather than worry. Thank you!!Thank you!!Thank you!!

I made the mistake of coming here out of convenience. I took my puppy in for an examination due to loose stool and they asked what vaccines she’s had. I told them and the vet tech lectured me on the importance of them for 10 minutes. I told her I understood and had already done all the required shots and would be waiting on the others. 3 months later, I made an appointment for rabies shot. My husband had to take the puppy in when he got there they told him she NEEDED 3 other shots as well and handed him the paperwork to sign without explaining further. When I called them for an explanation about the matter later, they passed me around to different people and told me that my husband signed for it and that everything they did was age appropriate and that there was no note about it being rabies only (even though the previous two representatives admitted it was in the chart). Very disappointed in their desire to make more money off of pushing vaccines on people all at once.

These vets really care! Their staff really cares! Hannah is tremendous; I asked her if the vet could help me with my situation, she put me on hold and went to ask. They didn't have an available appointment, so she let me do a drop off! They're so wonderful, and dynamic in their approach to care. They just impress me every time. I would give more stars, if I could.

Do NOT trust them with your exotic pets! We brought our healthy chinchilla in for a routine dental check-up including teeth X-rays. Her heart stopped for unknown reasons in their care. The only explanation the vet could give is that "sometimes this happens with these little guys". A couple months later, we received a bill for $424.15. Our chinchilla should have lived for many more years and I really wish we had never taken her here. Please do not make our same mistake.

If I could give negative 5 stars I would. Time and time again... my pets appointment was at 9am and was not even seen until noon. Incompetent staff...if I could curse on this review I would.
