Great customer service. Their mechanics changed part replacements, on most occasions, on the same day. They also have a great inventory on bikes and other recreational needs.

Super knowledgeable folks here! I am touring on my bike and was able to stop in and get seen right away. They looked at my bike, showed me what the problem was, and talked to me about mechanics and basic maintenance I should be doing. Highly recommend.

I have been here many times. Great spot to pick up any last minute items before heading out on the trails.However, I just went in to buy some things for Christmas gifts and I was asked what I was looking for. I told the guy I was looking for mens down jackets— as I point to to $400 Marmot jacket that I was wearing.As I was looking around, I felt like I was being watched like a HAWLK! I was asked 3 separate times “if I needed help finding something” within less than 20 min. I was about to drop $400 on a nice jacket and I need to read the tags to see what the fill number is, the type of fill, etc. I’m not just going to grab anything off the shelf. I tried on a beanie and was asked if I needed help again… after that I got the hint. I just grabbed a small item for myself and left.I completely understand you might get some shady people coming into your store.. but come on now. Let me shop in peace without feeling like I can’t even touch things or read the tags on items. When I spend money, I like to take my time.This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way, I went with a friend and she felt it too. Put alarm tags on the clothes if you are so worried. That $400 went to REI tonight and not to you.. ??♂️

Our first stop was Adventure's Edge in Arcata. They called this store to confirm they had a tandem sit-on-top kayak like we were looking for in stock. First of all, we are so happy we found what we are looking for locally, because another company we had ordered a kayak from had just told us they did not have a reliable way to deliver to the area. We were about to give up hope about being able to get what we wanted anytime soon. Second, staff were incredibly helpful in answering questions about what we needed to get in order to safely transport the kayak on top of our SUV. They helped us find the right products specific to our vehicle, roof rack, and the kayak we were buying. They also made sure we had accessories we needed (like paddles of the right length), without ever feeling pushy. Finally, they actually installed the kayak carrier on our vehicle and secured the kayak for us, all the while talking us through what they were doing so we would know how to do it ourselves later. Talk about full service! I couldn't be more pleased. We are new to the area and look forward to shopping here more in the future!

My derailleur cable snapped, leaving me stranded. Adventure’s Edge’s bike mechanics got me all fixed up in no time with a smile. What a big help!! I highly recommend this place; they have a lovely selection of bike and adventure items with excellent service.

Great shop for touring cyclists. They have tons of bike accessories, camping gear (including the jetboil type gas canisters that are hard to find), and lots of outdoor oriented clothing. I received fabulous service with a quick turn around on a bike repair.

You probably don't know how good you have it. Lived in Arcata and this was my bike shop. I did try to "share the love" a bit and support other bike shops--but, these guys were where I went when I really needed something. Long story short, I moved away about 7 years ago. Currently live in Sacramento area. Have a problem with my bike (missing chain ring bolts) that are special SRAM parts. Visited two bike shops who have been helpful in the past--Nope, don't have em. Called three other shops--Nope, don't have em. One shop told me they wouldn't be available to order until June. The other said they could "probably have them for me in July!" Called Adventure"s Edge--"oh yeah, we have those, but can't ship them until Monday. Hmm, I guess I'll have to wait two days then. . .Thanks AE! Did I mention I moved away SEVEN YEARS AGO? And I had to spend an extra two minutes on the phone to get my address updated in their system. My advice? Go here first!

I can’t say enough good things. They staff were super knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. They put up with our d*** questions and inexperience very well. They just conversed and gave us a lot of good advice on places to go and see without pushing products on us. I was genuinely impressed.
