These guys did a really good job and had good communication throughout. They let me know what was going on, walked me through every step, they made sure that they gave me a reason why things cost the way they did and showed me their labor. It was a lot of work (steering column) and he went above and beyond what he said he would.
I would definitely check these guys out. They seem honest, and their work is quality. Thank you guys for your hard work. It was nice meeting you all.

Great mechanic very honest people my car broke down got towed there in the middle of the night I received a call at 9 am as soon as they opened I told them the problem explained to them I needed to pick up my 12 year old son that night 3 hours away. They diagnosed the problem within 3 hours. It was my starter that had just been replaced by a different mechanic shop. They offered to help me figure out where my starter was bought and they got me a new starter under warranty gave me a discount on the diagnostic fees. They literally saved me close to $500 and made sure they got my car done before the end of the day so I could pick up my son. Great people great mechanics. They were so understanding and did everything they could to help me and save me $ on top of everything my old mechanic charged me 1,000 for my starter installed wich I couldn't understand why it was so much but paid it anyway dans auto electric was way cheaper for the same starter installed instead of trying to hustle me they helped me figure out how to use my factory warranty and get a new starter for free great great people this will b my new mechanic from now on

Took my classic car to Dan's for a running issue and transmission leak. Had no luck with the running issue being fixed, However, this is fine and does not bother me much. They did refer me to someone who may be able to guide me with this problem.
Next issue...It was suggested we do a diagnostic to locate the transmission leaks. We went through with the diagnostic, located leaks, a few weeks had gone by, I had to reach out to them. When I did, I was told they dont work on these types of transmissions. I feel as though this could have been said before spending time and money on the diagnostic. I know the transmission has leaks. I dont need to pay someone just to tell me this. Also was told there was trouble with finding seals and replacement parts. This is not and uncommon transmission, old yes, but uncommon no... very large after market. I hopped on ebay and found the parts needed within minutes. Even after all of this being said, it's really not a big deal. Although I did walk out of there with a $500 plus bill and nothing was really done to the car after 8 weeks.
Now the biggest issue... it was discussed and agreed that the car was to be left inside at all times during its stay. (it is a prize winning show car) Its clear that this request was not fallowed through with. We are on the coast, so leaving a car like this out for an extended period doesn't do it any good. The paint will now need a full correction and the brightwork will all need to be gone through. There is also knicks and chips that were not there before dropping the car off. The only time this car is out of the garage is when it's being enjoyed. I have no idea what would make someone think it would be acceptable to leave a vehicle of this caliber outside. Its not my fault the car was there for 8 weeks. If it wasn't possible to meet this requirement, I feel something should have been said and I would have gladly accepted it and taken my business to a location that could meet this criteria. If there was an extra fee required to keep it inside I would have happily paid it.
I will not be bringing another automobile to this facility, and I would not suggest it to anyone. I received the vehicle back in worse condition than it was when dropped off, which is a real shame. Thats not how it should be. I felt I was really patient and reasonable. I tried to be a good customer, I didn't rush or pester them, and in the end I still paid the bill without trouble. Im extremely disappointed to say the least. I dont think they are bad people but this is definitely not the way a business should treat someone. I hate to even have to write something out like this, but if it saves one person some trouble then it was worth it.
Good luck.

Called them, Dans Son who is in charge answered, I told him I need to get a copy of lien sale paperwork to register a car I bought that was last registered to them, and he started freaking out on me Saying he didn’t know what I wanted from him, and laughing at me because the car is still registered to them, easy to see why they have so many poor reviews, way to make your dad proud buddy!

I’d give zero stars if I could These people have Zero hospitality and no respect bought a car and traced the paper work back to them and wouldn’t help me at all and laughed in my face ….

Great folks. Trustworthy. They did my timing belt and saw other issues while everything was taken apart. They addressed those issues and didn't charge me an arm and a leg for it. I will be back for regular maintenance.

I'll give it a two since in the end they did fix the main issue, but only after multiple unsolicited "fixes" and a wrongful order for a part that needed replacing. Originally needed a new water pump, and supposedly an engine control module, which they did call to inform me of after dropping it off. Tacked on a new tensioner pulley without asking (I'm guessing they broke the old one) and then installed the wrong ECM and sent me on my way. After maxing out at about 10 mph driving down the street I quickly realized they never bothered to give it a test drive. The mechanic who did the replacement told me about how the ECM has a fuzzy logic and will adjust parameters as I drive it more and said maybe just stick to back roads for now, but I wasn't convinced. After some looking around he realized he ordered the wrong ECM for a different type of transmission. Another couple of weeks pass for a replacement order and now they've also replaced a relay, again no phone call. Maybe I've been spoiled by Firestone, but I really appreciate when I get updates and requests for repairs from the mechanic before they start tacking on things that I could do myself or maybe can't finance at the moment. $1500 dollars and a vehicle-free month later, I'm on my way. I know the auto service industry in Humboldt can be slim pickings, but I would recommend going elsewhere if you can. This is the most frustrating mechanic experience that I've had.
