Driver south bound on the 101 towards Eureka ca driving on the left hand shoulder trying to merge and almost caused major accident causing the drivers in front of us one to stop dead in the middle of the freeway and the other to swerve into the other lane. As a commercial driver myself I know that if he had been using his mirrors that he would have seen all the traffic there. 2 no one not even non commercials should be driving on the shoulder of a road for over a hundred feet trying to over take other vehicles on the left hand side of the free way. This could have been so much worse if the other drivers weren't so quick to act.
