We frequented this Walgreens for about a year, specifically for the pharmacy. The pharmacy was and still is the most difficult entity to deal with. More often than not they have been delayed filling prescriptions, Running out of medications, or simply unable to process a prescription accurately to the point where every interaction seems to be a chaotic circle of phone calls with the pharmacy, insurance company, and doctors- no matter who the doctor is. It seems very unorganized and have heard fellow customers in like voice similar frustrations. Additionally, they were often also out of vaccines, after scheduling an appt for vaccines, they advised me when I came in that they were out of what I requested, and they would call me when they got more in. They never followed up on any phone calls- I instead went to Safeway, walked in and got a vaccine the same day- the same vaccine that Walgreens said no one in the county had. So all in all I have yet to have a solid transaction with Walgreens pharmacy and have since taken my business elsewhere. If you're looking for a pharmacy, try something like ExpressScripts or Costco instead.

2/6 got a partial prescription of 10/180 pills. The rest was supposed to be in on 2/14.They had a malfunction & had to pitch all their medication and that somehow affected their computer system because they had no record that I still needed 170 pills.2/20: they used another one of my refills, tried running a 90 day as a 30 day which made insurance deny it. Fixed that, said they’d order it for me to pick up next day.2/21: same issue, this time pharmacist himself told me he’d ordered it & would be here next day.2/22: crickets. No text, no phone call saying it was ready.2/23: going in person to see why it’s still not ready. Been w/o medication for 2 weeks. Will have to go through the side effects all over again thanks to them.Thinking about having my doctor send my scripts elsewhere. I’ve heard this Walgreens doesn’t even bother transferring the prescriptions, creating another issue with people getting their medication. This really isn’t rocket science! They are playing with people’s health.

They’re totally overwhelmed and understaffed. Don't fill your prescriptions here.

This Walgreens on Harris is competing with the one on Broadway in Eureka for being one of the worst in the nation. The staff at both are incompetent, lazy and rude, don't listen, can't spell, don't know the names of common prescriptions or how to pronounce any of them, don't know the protocol with a drug new to a patient, don't know how to order refills. I've been hung up on a number of times by pharmacy staff too flustered or stupid to deal with easy questions or who just did not have the patience or who asked me the same question five times then still didn't get it! Where do they get these bozos? Is this where all the rejects come who have failed in pharmacy school and cannot get jobs anywhere else?? And they let homeless people camp out at the drivethrough windows and smoke and urinate and leave their garbage there and don't notify anyone to clean the mess up, so that you, in your car, are subjected to the lovely aromas and filth while being made to wait, and by the way, it's never a short wait either. Some Walgreens upper management Yay-hoo ought to pay these two pharmacies a visit, they both SUCK. So, when I finally decided I'd had enough and wanted my prescriptions transferred elsewhere, guess what - 2 other pharmacies told me they had had problems trying to get Walgreens to perform the transfer, that they were not cooperative, and that it would be easier to ask my doctors to re-direct the prescriptions!! That about says it all. Folks, stay AWAY from these horrible nasty Walgreens!!!refills,

The employees here are not given either the proper training or the right equipment/amount of employees to do a good job. In the last month we’ve experienced such disappointment that we reached out to corporate. It’s sad when even corporate makes the comment that this particular store is known to be awful.

Never expect to get your medication in any sense of a hurry. Usually takes them days or even weeks to fill a simple prescription, but they're estimated time is always "Give us 30 more minutes", making you come back multiple times just to get told "30 more minutes" again over and over and over again. Worst Walgreens pharmacy I've ever delt with

This isn't the fault of the staff. Humboldt County is an awful place to live for anyone who needs healthcare, even in the most general sense. The problems with healthcare in this county trickle down to access to medication. This Walgrens is awful. I never get my prescriptions quickly. I am waiting on one that was sent from my doctor about two weeks ago. After waiting over a week, I finally called and found out they didn't even order my medication. So had I never called, they never would have even ordered it. Five days later, I am still waiting for it. This is typical stuff I experience from this pharmacy on a monthly basis. Again, I don't think this is a problem with the staff; it's more complicated than that. I'd say avoid this place, but we don't really have many options here.

Don't send your prescriptions here. Went to urgent care and then waited for an hour and went to see if it was done. The guy told me it wasn't in their system yet and maybe they will get to it in a day or two

I can't say much about the store, but the pharmacy is a joke. The staff are ALWAYS rude, unhelpful and ill-equipt to do their job. Honestly no surprise, as most of the medical field in Humboldt is a failure. They couldn't refill a prescription of antibiotic ointment for my daughter because it had been 4 instead of 5 days since prescribing, so now we don't have her medicine for and entire day. And when asked about the dosage of another medicine for an infant, the assistant couldn't complete basic computations for a different mL concentration than she was "used to". So I ended up doing it and calling back with the correct information.Do not trust these people with your medicine. Go to the CVS in Target. Much more knowledgeable, though the receptionist is also a complete b****. So be prepared for that.

My 5 stars are exclusively for the staff who very obviously care about helping people navigate the completely broken and corrupted pharmaceutical system. They're polite and caring despite being completely overworked and likely underpaid for the value of the service they provide.Walgreens as a company, however, is a complete mess. This location needs to raise their wages so they can onboard and retain more staff. The amazing skeleton crew that they're working with deserves more support

I switched over to Walgreens because they had the right kind of meds that I needed that actually worked. But I have felt unbelievably frustrated with everyone in the pharmacy lately. They have very bad attitudes are extremely short with people. I couldn't get ahold of anyone over the phone and that happens often it is ridiculous how hard it is to get anyone in the pharmacy to pick up a phone just to let me know if my prescription is ready or when it will be ready. So I went down there and my prescription was put in a week before and they hadn't even started it. They told me to call next time and I would have to come back the next day. Another time I did the automated system and when I got there it was a day after it was supposed to be ready and again they hadn't even started it. I finally got angry because I didn't want to waste the gas going all the way back to arcata and back again gas prices are outrageous right now can you guys please be a little more respectful in getting people there prescriptions when promised and please start answering your phone calls. I'm sorry for the long message but I have to small children and don't have time to put up with serious inconveniences your pharmacy has been putting me through. If someone can please fix this I would be eternally grateful thank you.
