Allergic to nuts. Wish I knew that before going in. Heard the food was good, though.

I think promenade is a bit of a misnomer, this isn't exactly a walkable part of town. However there is a safeway and mobil gasoline here, so five stars.Although the chevron across the street has extremely nice employees so I go there.

Closes early, very rude despite the fact that they're supposed to be open until 10. Wouldn't come back.

Had a very unpleasant experience with this restaurant. Went in with three of my friends and got sat down and our order taken very quickly. We ordered the all you can eat sushi and almost instantly began grabbing plates from the revolving table. We had began finishing our meal when someone who i assume was the manager came over and complained that we did not finish all of our sushi and that we will be charged extra. Mind you we only had one plate with one piece of sushi on it when we had cleaned about 20+ plates between the three of us... after that I asked for the check and as she brought it back the person who i assumed was the manager sat down next to me blocking me into a corner of the booth. I was very uncomfortable on how close she got and on top of that she had touched and picked up my purse, continuously asking me how much i payed for it and that she would love to take it off my hands.. when she put my purse back down i wanted to just pay and leave quickly. I looked at the bill which was $90 and i gave her a $100 dollar bill and she said that i needed to tip more or she will be mad. i felt very pressured due to the fact she was basically sitting next to me and in my face ... i gave her the rest of my money that was in my purse which was only about $6 more and she became very rude and wanted us to leave. I will no longer be going back there which is very sad because it used to be a friend and family favorite.

According to an article published in the Sacramento business journal, Bento Sushi in Fair Oaks was served a 3 day notice to vacate the premises by Petrovich Development back in February of 2022. Apparently, they are still operating in dire circumstances. My family and I were frequent patrons of this location until today. After nearly two years of dining and some recent terrible experiences, I can see some of the problems with their operation. Im going to watch them fail and close for good. Before they close, reopen, and repeat the same mistakes again, I will draw some contrast between the failed business practices of bento fair oaks & the success of mikuni fair oaks. These two restaurants are about 1.5 miles apart. Mikuni fair oaks has a daily consistent wait list and also the best customer service of any sushi restaurant I've ever been to. Bento is almost never filled to capacity, In fact, they recently removed half of their dining area. I'm sure if you put another mikuni in the space bento currently occupies, it would also have a wait list. "The customer is always right" is a wise motto for a business to integrate into their mission statement. Mikuni fair oaks completely embodies this motto and always has. Bento fair oaks argues and barters with their disgruntled customers and shows a bias towards certain groups of people. This is suicide for a struggling establishment. Mikuni fair oaks on the other hand consistently treats you with courtesy, professionalism and respect. I honestly have never had an issue with ANY Mikuni restaurant and hold a mikuni club card, yes, they're that good. Tonight, the cowards at bento fair oaks tried to gaslight me into believing I was wrong for pointing out the flaws in their processes and the fact that their waitress overcharged us. I have no more energy to dedicate to this bs, but watch as this business fails, closes and is never heard from again. Furthermore, watch them continue to deny any wrongdoing or the flaws in their operation by attempting to discredit my review.
