One of my least favorite things to do is having to fill my tank up with gas. Unless you're the less than 5% of the population that drives an electric vehicle, then the majority of us find ourselves having to cope with inflated fuel prices; especially in the State of California. This is where "Safeway Fuel Station" comes to mind. The location I am focusing on is adjacent to the Safeway directly at the corner of Dewey Dr. and Madison Ave. in Fair Oaks. The main reason why I keep coming back here is that their prices are actually quite reasonable. And when I say reasonable, I mean they are just a few cents higher than Costco (in Citrus Heights) which can lead to much longer wait times. Additionally, this fuel station has very generous hours of operation being open for business 7 days a week from 5am-11pm. I do want to point out that if you pay with cash or use your debit card, prices are generally 10¢ lower than credit. And this applies to regular, plus, and premium. Furthermore, this fuel station also has pumps for diesel fuel. What I noticed in early-2023 is that they did a complete upgrade on their gas pumps and machines making it much easier to read. If you are a Safeway club member and do your fair share of shopping there, you are eligible for gas reward discounts. However, this is if you spend a LOT there meaning every $1000 spent gets you a 10¢ discount on your fuel. At least that is what I notice. Aside from that, this fuel station is never that busy and there are two different ways to enter/exit; through Madison Ave. or on Dewey Dr.With that said and done, I am being generous and giving the "Safeway Fuel Station" an above average four star rating. Prices are reasonable and usually fairly comparable to the other fuel station, "Kwik Serv" across the street. So to many that are on a budget and don't wish to spend more at Shell, Chevron, or 76, give this place a try.

I had a gift card. All 3 people working gave up trying to figure out how to use it to pay for gas. It's a Safeway gas gift card. ???? When I called the 800 number it said "an employee would love to help you at a location to identify your balance and use this gift card" apparently not.

The prices are ridiculous you have to watch what you buy. Today I paid 11.99 for a box of 10 GoGoz squeeze yogurt. Target had the exact same item for 7.49 and Winco 6.99. I shop there because I don’t want to bag my own groceries BUT today a lady just jumped in and started bagging and she wasn’t even a store employee!!! There are never any courtesy clerks available. It’s just sad.

Typical gas station but like the discounts you get from shopping at Safeway. This station gets crowded unless you get there very early in the morning or later in the evening. It's got a terrific location leading to the previously mentioned crowds. The station on Manzanita is another option and usually doesn't get nearly as many cars as this one.

Little known fact that their gas prices are pretty competitive compared to Costco. At least I don't have to wait in long lines just to gas up.

We bought some groceries on each of the last four Friday's ($5.00 Friday) at Safeway and also bought some gift cards and with Safeway's 3 or 4 times the points (w/ your Safeway Club card), so we accumulated 7 bonus points. Each bonus point is worth ten cents off of each gallon of gas, so we saved .70 cents off of the regular price of $5.39, which brought the price per gallon to $4.69! And you are allowed a maximum of 25 gallons, so we gladly bought our 25 gallons at $4.69 a gallon! Great Deal during these difficult times! We saved $17.50 off of the regular price of gas, all while buying only items that were on sale!
