“Jim is an amazing guy and he does absolutely stellar work. He is a total pro and you can rest assured that your piece will be handled with the utmost care, fit for display in a museum. He has a great eye and great taste for the perfect frame. I love hearing all of the wonderful stories from his life, and seeing the interesting pieces that happen to be in the shop whenever I visit. It's a long drive from where I live, but it is always worth it! His apprentice Quinn clearly has the passion and talent for the work, and I am excited to see what the future holds for him. I am so glad that Zoltron recommended this shop to me many years ago, I have taken every piece here since. I look forward to a lifetime of enjoyment appreciating the art that adorns my walls, so carefully preserved by Jim and his shop.”

“A Gem and Sacred Space ?

Routes Gallery has become one of my absolute favorite places—not just to shop, but to be inspired. Nearly every room in my world is touched by the beauty I've found there: my Skin Care Spa is filled with serene Buddha statues, shimmering geodes, and soulful objects that have helped create a sanctuary-like atmosphere for my clients. It's more than decor—it’s energy. A feeling of peace, presence, and reverence that people feel the moment they walk through the door.

My home and garden are equally graced by their treasures: a majestic Balinese water goddess by the fountain, a large Buddha watching over my deck, and a meditation room filled with meaningful, handpicked items—all from Routes Gallery.

What truly makes this place extraordinary is the owner, Richard Routher. Richard is a gem —kind, thoughtful, full of creative ideas, He always goes above and beyond, and it shows in every interaction that I have had.

Whether you're looking to infuse your space with sacred beauty or searching for that perfect meaningful gift, Routes Gallery is a place of wonder and heart. I’m forever grateful I found it.

“4/9/24 This is a delightful shop operated by Bonnie and resident jeweler, Jeffrey. I appreciate Jeffrey's jewelry designs for men and women and that there are many pieces and price points to choose from. My favorite go to was Gallery of Jewels on 24th Street but it closed a year or two ago. I am glad to have a new, wonderful place to find unique jewelry (and more) created by local artists!”

“My experience with this seller was OUTSTANDING in all regards: product quality, timeliness, and especially communication. My wife purchased a framed mountain bike destination map from them (as an Xmas gift for me) and it is very well designed - and looks TOTALLY COOL! I will be able to use the included pins to mark off destinations as completed. I saw a few maps online that allow you to check off destinations, but none that were specific to mountain biking besides this one. Also, there was a small issue with the order and they worked immediately to get it corrected. VERY happy with the end result and with this seller. Would highly recommend.”

“This museum had an exhibit of all the different kinds of art the children at the local schools have access to. Their art is displayed all around the museum and to see the beautiful pieces they created was a real blessing for all that walked through.”

“How can I summarize my feelings about Art Abloom in just a few sentences?? I am deeply grateful for Gabey and what she offers. My son is 5 and has been going in weekly since he was 4. Whatever idea the child has, she will help them execute. We all know how frustrated kids get when doing crafts with their own parents. Send them to Art Abloom! Gabey is truly a professional when it comes to children. She is encouraging and inspiring without patronizing. She magically pushes them towards independence, even if they hit that point of “I can’t do this”, she gets them moving forward. Building confidence! I also think what her students feel and appreciate is that she he has created a place for total creative freedom. At home it’s a lot of “no” you can’t use the glue gun, no you can’t use glitter, no no no. Some examples of projects he’s come home with: a garage for his hot wheels, a mosaic mirror, a portrait of his favorite Pokemon, a homemade leather wallet with little faux credit cards, a necklace for mom. He even used the ceramic wheel and made himself a little “maple syrup dipping bowl” which he’s proud to use at home! The options are endless in her studio! Kids love it.

I always do the drop-in weekly so I’m not committed to any packages. My son has become bonded with Gabey and it’s really sweet. I love when he spends time there. Plus, I get a break! Win/win.”

“MVPS is a wonderful studio. I started classes there two years ago and haven't stopped. The studio is clean, the kilns constantly firing, there are lots of community tools to try, and both rotating and returning glazes. Every instructor is a little different and all are top notch. The best part is the community of returning students, members, and staff. I learn so much from them and have made great friends. There's always someone to answer questions. I only wish there were more open studio hours! (PS. The sister studio in San Rafael, Amphora Ceramic Studio, is pretty great too)”

“Art Works Downtown in San Rafael is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. Located in a stunning, former opera house with a maze-like layout, it offers a unique setting to explore, making the venue itself a work of art. But what truly sets it apart is the community of artists. They are so kind and inviting, and openly share their passion for their craft. You'll find a diverse range of artistic styles represented here, making it an enriching experience for any art lover.”

“My luck could not have been better than the day I received a beautiful lithograph from Michael Mintzer, and then chose Bob on Michael's recommendation. Bob's experience as an artist was obvious as he easily provided attractive and reasonable framing options. He then blew me away by fast-tracking the job and having it ready for me before I had to leave town for a month.”

“? 803 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965. This photo shows the exterior of Studio 333, captured in 2024. I am a former Valet Attendant at the Hotel & Spa, which connects directly to this establishment. The store sells a wide selection of handcrafted art, jewelry, and accessories by local makers. ★★★★★”

“The first time I visited the gallery was back in 2016, during a trip to California. I fell in love with Scott Hanson's work (who I was lucky enough to meet in person), especially his bronze sculptures. The gallery staff was delightful and very accommodating. Later on my trip, I spotted a sculpture of the artist on display at Stanford University. Recently, while again in California, I decided to buy one of Hanson's art pieces that I was long desiring. The gallery provided all the support to get everything ready to ship the sculpture internationally (Thank you, Sherry!). The gallery is a must-go place if you are in the area.”

“Came here on a whim...we were visiting from Hawaii. We were staying in downtown SF at the Palace Hotel and walked to the Ferry building. While there, we saw the ferry and said to each other, "eh, let's go take a trip to Sausalito!" We found our way to Scrimshaw Gallery, which was a short walk from the port, just off the main strip. Good looking woodworks from local artisans. Not sure why all the reviews of the grumpy dude with the mustache, but Mike was pleasant and helpful. He was quiet at first, I'm sure just exhausted from the many looky-loos filtering through the shop. Mike was more than happy to share the history of the pieces in the store. There were tons of bowls and great looking, well-made wooden boxes with handsome inlays. In particular there was a bowl, small, really nice markings and designs from the natural wood, that I was interested in. Mike explained the history of it, how it was made and how the unusual naturally burnt rim of the bowl came to be. I was sold! One big problem I had was hand carrying it home...but Mike offered to ship it...for FREE! Of course, I was weary about that because I wasn't sure if it would be intact when I received it...and I really loved this one of a kind piece. After all, it was hand turned from a local artisan who has since retired! But I trusted Mike and agreed to having it shipped (and THANKED him for doing it complimentarily!). I received it in the mail yesterday...fully bubble wrapped in a box...in PERFECT condition! Much Mahalo, Mike!”
