Great PickleBall Courts! Generally a chill place with friendly people. The swimmers are detailed and passionate about their lanes and schedules, the tennis community is strong! I’ve met interesting and nice people here and had a lot of fun improving at PickleBall.

I've been a pickleball-only member of Canon Club for two years. There are four dedicated courts, lots of open play times and wonderful, friendly people to play with. The natural setting is spectacular and there are lights for playing in the evenings. All at a very reasonable cost.

The four official pickleball courts are a key draw but the tennis courts are excellent, too. Add in a heated swimming pool, amidst rolling hills, it is hard to complain. Yes, the locker rooms and hang out area need a big refresh but in a way that is half the charm. For the price (compared to some Marin private clubs), Cañon can't be beat! If you ever want to check it out, I am happy to show you around myself.

Have enjoyed this club for many years. Although it has always been funky long time members have tolerated dirty unheated locker rooms, sometimes a dirty pool because the setting is lovely and the atmosphere very friendly. Things have gone downhill recently. In a quest for more money the pool has been oversold to the point that there is not a time available to swim for many. Management does not regulate the activities and there are kids passing back and forth across the two available lap swim lanes in the afternoons. Very sad to see a happy place turned into such a non-friendly place. Greed and money rules.

I have fallen in love with this place! Gentle kind group of happy and positive older gentlemen run the place with good will and humility. Very casual atmosphere which is such a relief for those who seek it. We have been going 3-5 times a week this July and August and my kids have loved being there and arraigning to meet friends there. There are a few (4?) lanes always for adults only and kids can come after 12 and they take over a lovely wide lane and definitely cause a ruckus at times. We will be back next summer and through the fall.

The locker room is quite dirty and outdated. The pool is packed with kids in the afternoon. The sauna is not turned on so when you get there, you have to do it yourself to get it warm by the time you want to use it. Last year there was a huge black algae problem that closed it down by the health department for several days. The lawn chairs are broken and outdated. They raised the rates so if you are not a tennis player, you are paying as if you are. There is no swim membership.

Why are there no reviews? The setting of this club is fantastic. I've been coming here for years, but I have been MIA for the past couple of years. Now everytime I drop by for a swim, my heart sinks a little lower. For one, it's not a club like the Bay Club or any of the private athletic clubs in Marin. It used to be, but now the Sons of the Golden West apparently attempt to make repairs, but they go cheap and make things work. It took a near-lawsuit to get the locker rooms cleaned and up to code, then they fixed the tennis courts a couple of years ago and then the pool this year. Both repairs were awful. But I do not like to swim there as much because there are always kids, dogs, and a bunch of leering old men everywhere, of which the latter tend to smoke on the premises. Don't bring your daughters or granddaughters, that's for sure. The environment is beautiful, the people not so much.
