This is a bike shop and a restaurant. We consumed food and drinks , there wasn’t a single other customer , and they told us we can’t have our bikes on the patio. Super rude , just to make a point. You would think they would be friendlier to their main customer base

Chill spot with high quality bikes and brews, the food is delicious, even more so after a long ride. A great local spot, will definitely be back.

Awesome bike shop and cafe. Of course, who really cares about the bike shop when you have that wicked awesome Cuban sandwich being served up from the bar!

Stopped in to check my chain wear and get a price on some service and they quoted me $450 to change pads and my chain which they said was worn and should be replaced. I was surprised because I have about 1600 miles on my bike and this sounded way high to boot. Guy also said I should plan 10% of the cost of my emtb in maintenance a year. So $750/year? I don't think so!!To double check my chain I stopped at another shop on my way home who measured and said my chain wasn’t even halfway worn and the pad replacement would be a small fee.I don’t trust anyone who would upsell me on service. So hard pass

Purchased a Specialized Kenevo about 3 months ago from Splitrock. This is my 4th emtb. Jason, the owner, and his staff did an excellent job in dialing in the bike to my exact preferences. This was definitely the best emtb purchasing experience I’ve ever had by miles!! The staff was happy to go above and beyond in dialing the bike to my exact specs and expeditiously upgraded the forks as I waited in the great shop and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Splitrock restaurant. On getting the bike, I was able to immediately test ride it on some great trails (classic Marin trails) a short riding distance from the shop. After the maiden run, I enjoyed a cold brew at the Splitrock tap room with some local riders who were as stoked as I was after their trail rides!! Great and rare combination of mtb shop, restaurant, tap room and friendly post ride scene!! I hope to be back soon and feel so fortunate to have the experience I did at Splitrock Tap and Wheel!???♂️?

Excellent surprise! We are long time Fairfax residents but had not yet tried this place. On Labor day, it was lively but not overcrowded, and we found a table outdoors. We placed our order: 3 carnitas tacos, and an Asian chicken salad, plus a beer. The beer was very good.We waited quite a while for our food, but there was a nice laid-back atmosphere and the music was great (and not too loud!).The food was truly excellent. The chicken was first class, moist, properly cooked, not prepared days before. The tacos were flavorful, very generous with lots of carnitas. We loved it. We will be back

Stopped in for a bite + brew after riding Tamarancho and was impressed by everything. Solid food, great beer selection, and even a bike shop albeit on the smaller side to peruse after I placed my order. Tons of parking and a great outdoor patio to boot, I'll definitely be back.

I came to the Bike Shop to do a small repair on my Specialized Bike. I didn't realize the warranty didn't cover my situation. Henry was outstanding and said give me a few minutes and let's see if I can fix this! Well he did, and didn't charge me. Henry you rock and I am very impressed with the customer service this shop provides.

After putting in a few hours of vigorous Marin riding, my cycling buddies and I recently visited Split Rock Tap and Wheel to get a well deserved beer and some lunch. We had a mixed experience. Positively speaking, Split Rock offers a good selection of local craft beers on tap. The outdoor patio is spacious and a great spot to park your bike, relax and enjoy a cold brew with other cyclists. Additionally, the prices are pretty reasonable, which is always a good thing these days. Don't get me started on beer prices going north of $10 at other places.Unfortunately, the service was exceptionally slow, taking at least 20 minutes to place our orders, and another 25-30 minutes to receive our food. I was done with my beer by the time the food arrived and would have ordered another to pair with my food order but that long line was going nowhere. Yes it was a Saturday at 2pm so your experience may vary but it's no secret that Fairfax eateries catering to cyclists will likely get hit hard on weekends. The Cubano sandwich I ordered was pretty average and that may be a fairly generous assessment. If you are considering the Cubano - don't. My buddies fortunately had a bit better food experience than I did but still nothing to write home about. Maybe I should have stuck with the specials board but I always like to try Cubano's if they are on the menu.To improve the dining experience, I might suggest having more than one register taking orders. Or maybe have a register dedicated to beverage orders. Or if another register isn't possible, having a dedicated staff member helping the register guy out by just pouring beers. Hell, if people are drunk enough, the slow food services will seem trivial. Additionally, I'd recommend minimizing the menu to focus on a smaller selection of dishes (around 8-10) and ensuring that they are executed exceptionally well. Look no further than The Joinery in Sausalito for tips on that. This way, the kitchen can focus on perfecting a handful of signature items rather than spreading themselves thin across a wide range of choices. Finally, the lack of attention to clearing tables was noticeable. It would be beneficial for the servers to also have the responsibility of bussing tables upon their return trip from food delivery to ensure a clean dining environment. In conclusion, Split Rock Tap and Wheel has its strengths, such as the variety of local craft beers and a nice social outdoor patio. However, the slow service, mediocre food, and some operational improvements prevents me from suggesting a visit. It's a place that tries to do too many things, but perhaps it's time to focus on mastering a select few.

Dear Split Rock You are the only place I know that has bikes and food, my two favorite things. I didn't even know what a Cubano sandwich was before, but now I do I always come to you with my road and mountain bike when I need repairs. Thank you for knocking off roughly $200 on my mountain bike repairs. You have the answers to all my important biking questions. I'm so grateful for this I'm deeply satisfied with the service you have provided. I only wish there were more businesses like yours.

Solid lunch spot in Fairfax. Great chicken pesto sandwich. The wrap was good too. Cheeses garlic bread was bomb too. Pizzas are pretty standard/basic toppings but look great. Good beer too. Highly recommend going with dogs, kids, or messy hiking/biking gear.

The pizza is good and I like that you can choose between spicy and non-spicy sauce, especially since spicy sauce has eliminated some of our favorite pizza place options since we had spice-averse kids. We came for lunch at about 2pm on a weekday. I had skipped breakfast and was starving--the pizza, hot and fresh from the pizza oven--definitely hit the spot. I can imagine how it is the perfect meal for the cyclists stopping by post-Mt. Tam ride. The outdoor seating is nice and dog-friendly. The menu is small (I'm probably alone in wishing they also served coffee and something sweet), but enough to fill hungry cyclists and hikers.
