Fern River Resort is a peaceful, quiet, and nice place for a getaway, offering a retreat from the modern world in a beautiful, gorgeous environment with nature just a step away. The cabins, described as cute, traditional family cabins in the woods, are generally clean and tidy inside, lovely and warm, and super comfy according to some, though other reviews mention issues with cobwebs outside, a very hard bed, and pillows that did not smell fresh. The location is highly praised, being right on a river and creek, with beautiful scenery, birds chirping, and easy access to a park, trails, and the nearby town. It is family-friendly, highly affordable, and convenient to local amenities. The check-in process is typically easy, though experiences with staff vary; some found them friendly and helpful, even going above and beyond, while others encountered occasional rudeness, especially after hours, and minor booking or payment issues. Some practical notes include that heaters may not warm a room above 65 degrees on chilly days. Overall, guests report a decent, enjoyable, and memorable experience, often stating they will definitely be back to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy the simple, nostalgic atmosphere.
This resort is an absolute retreat from the modern world. The scenery takes you back to a simpler time, the creek is constantly changing, the beds are super comfy and the nearby town has everything you'd want outta a lil town. Highly affordable and just that memorable to keep you coming back through all the seasons. Family... read full comment

Delightful little motel / cabins. Just off the 9, far enough to be peaceful but close enough to be convenient to the road and local amenities. Friendly helpful staff. The cabin was lovely and warm , comfortable and super traditional

Nothing fancy but functional and in a beautiful forest location. We just stayed one night as a landing point for mountain wandering. Check in was easy. Rooms were clean albeit dated.
