Gave me the best price around, easy to communicate with dispatch, and a sociable driver, more than satisfied with their service

I recently had to get a car out of this company it had been towed by them after it was stolen. Over the phone on a Sunday they said that it would 300 ot cheaper to pick up on a Monday. When we arrived, my brother and I, on Monday. I gave my brother my debit card and my ID, while I sat parked in my car in front. The car was my brother who didn't have the money so I offered to help, cause it was stolen the cops found the car in Fortuna. My brother who is darker than me, we are African Americans. He went to the window they told him it would be 575$ cash to get the car out. I got out of the car and went to the window and asked one of the women why the price had changed from Sunday? The story did not add up so asked to speak with the owner or person in charge I was told the person is out on medical leave. Another lady in the office said she was the next in charge and said she would give it to us for 335$ after I questioned their fees and asked why it had to be cash since the had a card machine sitting there. She then let me use my card. The car was towed again for a different reason and now they want double the cash. Does anyone know the owner or someone I can speak with to help me, if so my number is 707-672-5050 thank you.

Will take advantage of you. They towed a car that we sold 2 years ago and was never registered. We submitted proper paperwork to the dmv. Police won't do anything. It would be nice if this company wouldn't take advantage of people trying to do the lag thing. Very unethical

Update: I'm revising my original review from 1 star to 5 stars. The owner promptly contacted me after he was aware of our situation and worked with us on the charges. He was sympathetic to the issue and even shared his own story of dealing with theft of a vehicle.. I would encourage anyone to talk to Leroy to work out a fair and reasonable deal.. Awful company! Don't do business with Humboldt Towing! They have the most unethical business practices I've ever heard of! My son's car was stolen, he reported it to EPD. EPD found it in an alley on B street, battery stolen and ignition ripped apart. EPD called to have it towed ( 2 miles) and now Humboldt Towing is charging $386 because law enforcement called it in plus $75 a day it's there...THEY WON'T TAKE A PAYMENT UNLESS IT'S CASH?!?? Seems a little unfair for the person who had their vehicle stolen!

I needed a tow for my truck and called Humboldt towing. They were not helpfull at all. There was a fire in the area l, but the route of travel for the tow truck was not compromised by the wildfire at all. They gave me the run around for days and I decided to go with another company that was willing to tow the vehicle from 2 hours away. I would never use Humboldt towing service again. They were rude and unprofessional. Don't call them!

Jeremy saved the day for us. He was at the scene of our accident yesterday right away to grab our disabled (totaled) Subaru. He showed empathy and compassion but was also business like. Made sure we were ok after police, and EMTs left. We told him we'd have to wait for over an hour for a taxi and he gave us a secondary phone number for a ride and that taxi was there in approximately 7-8 minutes of hanging up. Awesome service!

This towing company always goes the extra mile to help you out in the time of need. I have gotten locked out of my car and this towing company was more than willing to work with my insurance. So far the staff has been courteous, helpful and attentive. They have good communication with their customers. Thankfully they are understanding during difficult situations and and always willing to help. I am forever grateful for their services. I have had a chance to experience their services and ever getting locked out twice in my life. It can be embarrassing but they appear to understand :-)

LAZY LYING THIEVES I called in for flat tire repair service. Someone let the air out of my tire. They charged my card before they arrived. Once he got to my vehicle in Eureka. He said he couldn't put my full size spare on because there wasn't enough tread on the tire. He said he could tow it for more money. I asked if he could put air in my tire. He again said no. I asked if they could refund my $80 and cancel the call, they said yes. I never got a refund. They are lying thrives that leave people in bad situations just because they're lazy.

Beware Humboldt Towing I hired Humboldt Towing to come move a 5th wheel Rv for me. We booked for Monday at 10am. The owner of Humboldt Towing asked me to call an hour early to confirm. I did, and was told me he would call me back later. He didnt call me back, so an hour after the appointed time I call him back and he tells me that he'll be available after lunch at 1:30pm. I'm okay with this, it's inconvenient, but I understand the realities of running a business like Humboldt Towing. I can contact the 3 other parties involved and reschedule everything. At this point on the phone he starts being very rude about money. Quote: "make sure you bring $200, and it has to be cash. I won't have you trying to stiff me" (he may not have used the exact term stiff me, but the meaning was definitely there). Okay... this guy must deal with a lot of crack heads in the area or something, but it's rather insulting that he automatically treats a perspective customer so poorly. I was taken aback and considered canceling him right then, but I made the mistake of keeping on, I should have gone with my gut. I shouldn't have trusted Humboldt Towing. He (Humboldt Towing) does show up at around 1:30, so that's good... he asks me several questions about the RV which I don't know, as I'm the buyer. I ask the owner. He then tells me "well you seem pretty useless, so I'll talk to her". Okay... pretty rude fellow! Then he outright yelled at some bystanders for talking too loud. So he hooks his truck to the RV and asks again where he is moving it to, which we've already told him. We just need it moved a few feet to the side so the slide outs can come all the way out. He needs to pull it foreword, and then back it up slightly moved over. He (Humboldt Towing) is not willing to do this thing that we hired him for... He says he'll pull it forward and leave it there. Of course this is a storage yard and you just can't do that. I ask him if he'd be willing to stick around for 30 minutes while we check the slides of the RV. Nope he's unwilling... He will only pull the RV out, take my $200, and leave. Then he wants me to call him back, book him again and pay him $200 again to put it back. At this point I'm feeling very uncomfortable having the owner of Humboldt Towing do this job for me. This man has been rude to me and my guests for no reason. He was unwilling to speak to my stepfather because "you're not the one who hired me, so I'm not going to talk to you"... I'm sorry, my step father is technically your customer as well... (He was very offish throughout the entire encounter). I, and every other party, was very pleasant and cordial during the entire exchange. He was being unreasonable about doing a simple job of moving a trailer a few feet, trying to wring $400 (double our agreement) out of it. At this point I voice my concerns and tell him "I think I would be more comfortable having someone else complete this job for me." He says "fine!" and disconnects his truck. He disconnected the battery and wiring to the RV, but he just left it that way...He leaves, and even though he messed up the RV we were all relieved that such a negative presence was finally gone. I had to apologize profusely to everyone present for this man's dreadful behavior. I truly don't understand why this man was so unpleasant and rude to everyone involved. This would have been a $600 job for the man and his company Humboldt Towing (if I bought the RV I would have hired him to move it too). So after he left we found someone else to move the RV. He inconvenienced half a dozen people for hours, and dimmed all of our days with his poor attitude and bad manners. After we figured things out I called Humboldt Towing's office to complain and got put on the phone directly with him. I told him that because of his unprofessional attitude and poor behavior I would not be giving his company, Humboldt Towing, any more business, and that I would

Be aware.... Humboldt towing is shady AF. Son sold a vehicle filed the release of liability with DMV. New owner didn't register it drove it till it got towed. Now Humboldt towing is trying to collect $3000+ from him. He took in the release of liability papers to them. They told him he IS responsible because he is the LAST registered Owner ,and the Release of Liabilty does not matter ,Instead of dropping the issue they turned him into collections. The real irony is from what we have heard they sold it to the same person my son had sold it to originally.

Humboldt Towing did an incredible job with something we feared was impossible. A wide Air Stream trailer, 31 feet long, needed to be moved to a site that was not one inch more than it needed. In addition, the angle of necessary approach, we were told by others, was likely impossible. They came the Monday after our call, figured everything out, worked patiently and Viola! It fit perfectly. Everyone was kind, patient and very professional. These folks know exactly what they're doing and they have all the equipment necessary to do it. I will always call them for any future towing. Since you cannot have no stars I HAD to give them one star. If you read the reviews very few of any positive reviews are by women. My experience with them is dealing with the owner. He left me stranded on two different scheduled tows. I was 300 miles from home. He lied to the insurance company (drop off repair had no place to put it); then lied to me (didn't have a truck big enough). It is a 5th wheel. I did lose it and yelled at him because he knew there was nothing I could do. He acted like a good old boy, not in a good way. My parting words were vulgar in 1970. He did make a comment that I swore like a sailor. Well I am a veteran of the US Navy. He never did thank me for my service.

A+ service from beginning to end!!!! I had to call my Honda care to send someone out to help jump start my car. TWICE! But I had a great experience! The gal that called me from Humboldt Towing was polite and friendly. I can't remember her name, but she was very patient with me. Once she figured out my exact location, she let me know that Mr. Tim was on his way. We waited no more than about 10 minutes. Which to me is super quick. Living in southern California originally we can wait 45 mins to and hour and a half. Tim approached us and the car, and introduced himself and got to it. He was very nice and understanding. He got us going and we were on our way. Well, one stop later my car decides not to start AGAIN! I knew this was a problem with my car. So once again I call and am directed to Humboldt Towing. I was happy about that. The second lady to call me was just as warm and friendly as the first. She figured out where we were and sent someone out. Not to my surprise it was Mr. Tim again. My son mentioned he may be the one to help us again. We weren't too far from our first stop though. Again he was friendly and professional. We laughed at the situation even though I felt d**** But he made me feel NOT so d**** Really great people working for this company I truly do appreciate the excellent 5 star customer service I received today. And I would recommend you all over and over again. Thank you all for being so patient, friendly and understanding with me. You all helped a rough day not be so bad.
