Fillmore Fish Hatchery is a hidden gem and a fun, cheap, family-friendly outing. It is a cool place for a quick visit, especially with kids, offering an excellent half-hour activity. Visitors can take free handfuls of food to feed the very pretty trout and see how the fish are farmed and placed in lakes. The grounds are well cared for, featuring a lovely little stream, ducks, dragonflies, cat tails, and bunnies. It is a really relaxing place. While perhaps not worth a special trip alone, it is a neat and amazing stop to see the fish and their ecosystem.
Fun for a quick visit, especially with kids. It's free. There are buckets of food which you are allowed to take 2 handfuls from. There are also ducks and dragonflies and cat tails at one end. There are restrooms near the parking lot. The trout are very pretty.
