(this is a copy of the email I sent directly to the manager)
We enjoyed a stay at your hotel Friday night October 19th, our group had a total of 4 rooms booked.
I have to say it is so sad to see such a cool historic property in such horrible condition! We stayed in room 30 and the odor of smoke (or ?) from years ago was almost overwhelming! That is in addition to everything else being worn, mismatched or ??? Everyone else in the group had problems with their room also,
The restaurant and bar were fantastic (other than the pile of greasy mats out side the side door, which we had to walk by) and the reception area was also nice.
Please get your stuff together and maintain this wonderful resort that you are stewards to!
Thank you,
Rooms: Really in need of an update, the owners should be ashamed of themselves for letting such a wonderful, property get into a state of such disrepair!

I debated between 3 or 4 stars, ultimately I choose one.
I got charged $2 for something, I don't know what, I didn't use their mini bar. I originally chose this place because it's proximity to the South Gate of Yosemite. I happily weighted the decision of commercial versus this hotel with the trade-off of course being breakfast.
The Inn offered a continental breakfast, as in cold and not really that appealing on a cold fall day. They charged the same amount and even more so than the commercial hotels at the end of Oakhurst. In addition, the TV doesn't really work, It was stuck on something called Ovation would seem to be British crime dramas . If you wanted to watch anything else you had to log into one app or another. I do completely understand the ends point about vacation is not necessarily made any worse by disconnecting a little bit but when you're traveling alone having other noise is essential. Besides the TV not working, their internet worked pretty good, but considering how much they were charging per night, i did not really go for the tourist trap vibe of a mini bar being in the room. They have never even run into that in cities full of casinos like Reno. The water was nice and hot for showers, though the mini bar was rather distracting and had me frequently concerned what else do they charge for, like if I used the soap to wash my hands, was that going to be an extra charge too? They have a completely Stellar spot for its proximity to Yosemite and Highway 41. The attached restaurant was phenomenal in both quality of food and service. Since I still had to go into Oakhurst to find real food breakfast and lunch, for me personally i will be taking that into consideration next time I go to Yosemite. Cost being equal, What did it really save me Since I still had to go to Oakhurst.

Lovely rustic lodge. The complementary breakfast had good varieties. I had a queen room with forest view. The balcony was facing the forest, which is perfect for enjoying a breakfast. It offered free WiFi.

Place has great potential but is a little dirty and needs updating. It does have a lot of nice amenities that we liked (sitting outside by fire, on site restaurant, walking trail to steam train, 45 min to yosemite overlooking, quite place)
Rooms: Need some updates, deep cleaning for dust behind things and minor repairs) si.ple fixes to make a big difference in 1st Impressions.

We stayed 2 nights to be close to Yosemite. The feedback below was also shared with the manager when there.
The good:
We appreciated the continental breakfast, and the staff was friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was good, had a fun, rustic atmosphere with live music that we enjoyed. Josue was so very friendly, kind, and a wonderful asset to the restaurant!
The bad:
The hotel and our room was much more tired than the website pictures show. The musty smell hits you as soon as you walk in. Our room had 3 maintenance issues. My husband asked for a screw driver to fix the door knob himself. He showed the manager the other issues, which weren't addressed while we were out all day. Also, the shower head doesn't move, which is very inconvenient in such a small shower. A hand-held shower head would work much better. The bed was not comfortable, the blanket worn, and the balcony was very dusty. (A quick sweeping could address this before guests check-in.)
We cannot recommend this hotel.

This was pretty quaint. I liked it !! Clean and nice front desk ! The main reason for renting this place was I was going to a jazz concert on the Railroad and it was right next door ))). It’s not to far from Yosemite and short drive to Oakhurst. I’d stay again

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was large, clean and quiet, only 15 minutes. Located from the entrance to Yosemite. We had a room with two large double beds

We took a quick little vacation here this week (in September.) and it was honestly amazing. Hospitality was amazing, the restaurant was great, everyone that worked there was SO kind and helpful.
The beds were literally so comfy. (We were just talking about this and actually even lifted the sheets to see what mattress it was because it was so comfy haha!)
The blankets/bedding were so soft. The rooms were nice, definitely just a room you go to sleep in, but the deck was top tier. I could have sat out there forever. It’s close enough to oakhurst for food/stores and then also close enough to Yosemite! It was such a great experience.
Overall, super awesome experience and we found our new go to place. ?
