We love this hotel and the location, but we had a very negative experience with the manager our last visit. Our room was moved to a cabin with a nonfunctional HVAC, and we ended up spending our evening dealing with IT issues until past 11am - about 4 hours total. We had to stay up to resolve it because the overnight low was in the 20s and it was a standalone cabin. It happens, right? The next morning, after explaining what happened, the manager offered us breakfast vouchers for our inconvenience. Mind you, we just finished spending 4 hours the night prior dealing with maintenance and HVAC IT. Breakfast vouchers? After much debate, we were offered at 50% refund for the night. We lost an evening of vacation, travel, etc, due to this issue. This is not the way a hotel that charges $500 a night should be treating its customers. We will not be back.

Today, my son and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Jackalope's Bar and Grill at Tenaya Lodge. Their menu offered a wide variety, from pork belly to sea bass, and unsurprisingly, our meal was perfect! Tenaya Lodge is located in the mountains near Yosemite, in a small town called Fish Camp. It's conveniently located just off highway 41, north of Oakhurst by about 10 miles. After lunch, we explored the hotel and found three cool gift shops and a huge indoor swimming pool. Considering it's so close to home, a weekend trip to Tenaya Lodge with the family is definitely on my radar! Unfortunately, the snow kept us from exploring the grounds outside - maybe next time with the proper attire. Follow me on IG @hungry_dude_usa

We stayed here 2 nights while visiting Yosemite. The food was horrible at Jackalopes inside the resort. $250 for food I didn't even enjoy at all. Then we had sign up for room service to not clean our room, but they went in anyway. In there cleaning they threw out or stole a bag of merchandise bought at gift shop. We reported it to get no satisfaction on it being replaced or refunded. In the end this place was not worth the money I paid to stay and their customer service doesn't exist. I do NOT RECOMMEND on staying here.

What a great stay! Genuinely wish we had more nights here. Bree and the Jackalopes Bar & Grill was an absolute stand out!- so friendly & genuine! Plus some really helpful local tips. Honestly couldn't put into words how amazing she is! 11+/10 human!

musta stayed at friends' places in fish camp two dozen times, drove past the this "resort" three or more times that many. but this was winter and i only go to yosemite for one kind or other mountaineering, and not my time for this until most all the water on the rocks is in liquid state. i should add at the outset that this review is a kinda sad story, really, or at least as far as it goes though it since turned around a couple of times, and more before it's done. here's what happened... the trip was to avoid rain that was swamping the n coast, and a new friend and i had already spent a few days around the house so time to head off to the central coast, then over to the valley and that for three reasons: see tax accountant, buy olive oil and finish up the week at an altitude entirely different from the beach. all went well, nice phoenician lunch then onto hwy 41, which is where it happened... rearended the van in front of me. i really liked the car i was in, a lot liked it. too bad, totaled due to a bit of unwise acceleration on my part. but all went well enough, chp guys being reasonable after an unnecessarily close, at least for this time of day, pupil perusal. but the plans didn't change, just needed to rent a car at the fresburg international air terminal and keep going as planned. now on to the formal review, and part 2 of the sad tale. the tenaya is really quite fine, especially when you compare it to sleeping on the ground, in a tent-cabin, or trying to get a reservation at the ahwahnee. i don't think people who take petty shots at the small matters here realize what a production is anything done this far from town, at this altitude, for so many people who are chomping at the bit for their likely one and only drive the next day into the glorious valley of rocky glints and shadows. we did have an issue with the pillows: they're beyond overstuffed, so much so they're actually useless, no "give" whatsoever. some complain about the food, but the answer to that one is simple: don't eat here. i think it's not fair to name the better alternative nearby, slightly downhill from the turnoff to the tenaya, so yelp it. but neither pillows nor food were our problem as i can't really explain how such deterioration comes about, and anyway a few days later things u-turned decidedly to the good again. these things often do, until they don't. for those not yet past infancy this famous philosopher explains perfectly how it goes: youtube.com/watch?v=SjzEnNFfsPw

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! As we pulled into the entrance, we were greeted by a friendly employee who allowed us to park at the front so we can check in safely. During our check-in process, the front desk gave us all the information for the resort and maps of how to get around. They gave us all reusable bottles to use during our stay. They have water stations and a soda stream machine for us to use for free. We can refill our bottles as much as we want during the stay. After we were given our room key, we parked our car near our room entrance so we can take our luggage up with ease. There are bus boys nearby if you need help. After we got into our room, which was a nice lodge style room. Clean bathrooms and clean bedrooms. We stayed at the lodge rooms but there are cottages available. The rooms were spacious and roomy. There was a game room in the main lobby with lots of board games and a ping pong table for anyone to use. They had free popcorn for everyone and free lemonade for us to enjoy with the movie playing in the game room. They have a fire pit in the back so they offer s'mores stuff in the lobby for us to use and make s'mores. UNLIMITED access to Hershey bars for s'mores!! Such a fun vibe with the firepit in the back! We all really enjoyed it. The weekend we were there, the Timberloft Pizzeria was closed but the deli offered pizza so we had that for dinner. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! They have cheese and pepperoni. We ate in the lobby with the fireplace there. It was nice a comfy environment. After dinner, we headed to the indoor pool area and the arcade. They also have a hot tub! They are open until 10pm which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the facilities. The main lobby has a board where it has everything you can do in the area depending on how much time you have at the resort. It's pretty useful!! The next day we went on a hike to Lewis Creek Trail which was about a 15 minute drive down. The hike itself was 2 miles there and back and we did it with our 7 year old and 5 year old so very doable! There is an ice skating rink as well. The prices are very reasonable!! We were the only ones there so the staff member let my kids ice skate for free and charged only the adults which was super nice of them!! And ice skating rink has in and out privileges as well so it's awesome!! The deli has ice cream and we went after hours so they opened it up just for us at around 9pm and we didn't have our credit card on us but the staff member let the kids have it as a complimentary treat from them. SUPER SUPER NICE!!! Tenaya Lodge is BIGGGGG on customer service! I had an amazing experience in which they put their customers first. 100% will be coming back soon and maybe with a bigger group since it's very accommodating to larger groups as well. LOVED LOVED LOVED it. We were sad we were leaving because we had such an amazing time!!! Thank you Tenaya :)))

There are some good things about the place. but some real draw backs as well. they play movies every night in the swimming pool for some reason. As if a swimming pool and hot tub isn't enough to entertain us we need super loud Disney movies that the kids aren't watching. just to make sure we are all totally overstimulated.

Don't Use Expedia to Book the Tenaya! I booked a stay here on Expedia, and even though I cancelled within an hour due to bad driving conditions, Expedia wouldn't give me a refund. They blamed the Tenaya Lodge, but everyone at the Tenaya was friendly and assured me that they had given me a full refund and this was on Expedia's end. In the future, I will always book a room directly on the Tenaya website.

We stayed in the cottage with our family of four and dog. The room was dated, but the heater worked well and the fireplace and patio was nice. I also loved the parking right in front for unloading and loading of the vehicles. We came the week before Christmas and was hoping to participate in snow activities. Unfortunately, we were only blessed with rain. Thankfully the hotel had so many activities to keep our family entertained. There was a s'mores and hot chocolate bar set up every night? A large fireplace indoors and outdoor to sit by and many fire pits to roast marshmallows on. Two game rooms and an indoor pool with movies on the big screen. We had fun doing the elf hunt and enjoyed the little ice skating rink. The ice rink was pretty small and not groomed well and the skates were very old so I did feel this was overpriced, but it was nice to do something different. The WiFi was great and the location was 20 min from the Yosemite entrance so that was convenient. They are dog friendly, other than the pool allowed everywhere and have Tesla superchargers which was a huge plus for us. Hotel is pricey, but if you were planning on enjoying the amenities I highly recommend.

The food was so expensive and horrible. The bed was even worse. We left early. Pretty landscape, but we will not stay there again.

I have always had wonderful stays at Tenaya. The front desk help has always been super friendly and accommodating. It is always decorated so beautifully for the holidays. The rooms are super comfortable, spacious and well kept with robes and extra blanket provided. However, the beds are REALLY high, so much that my 5'0 mother required a stool from housekeeping to get on the bed. But they are really comfortable. Room service is really quick and bell service and valet are very professional and accommodating. The food options include a deli which has grab and go sandwiches, salads, chips, drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic), snacks, pastries and Starbucks coffee. Jackalopes is the main restaurant on site which has good quality (although overpriced) food. Make sure to ask about the $25 breakfast buffet, as it was not mentioned by any employee until after we already ordered. On the Christmas Eve we were there, there was a $40/person buffet in one of the banquet rooms that seemed like it had a good spread. On Christmas Day, there was a $90/person (!) buffet with prime rib, turkey, seafood and a lot of sides. We chose not to partake but apparently it sells out about 3 weeks in advance according to an employee. The grounds are beautiful and great to explore. The "skating rink" is very small and not too visually appealing and there is one small fire pit that doesn't accommodate too many people. There are activities offered through the hotel, such as nature walks, snowshoeing and a tour in Yosemite that you can book. Overall, I have loved my visits and will continue to return.

I really don't understand the bad reviews of this hotel. It's a great hotel just under an hour away from Yosemite village. Great location close to many hiking trails, the Mariposa grove, bass lake etc... staff is friendly and helpful. During the Christmas season the hotel looks magical. A huge beautiful tree in the middle of the lobby right by the fireplace makes this place so magical. Imagine a glass of wine or a cup of tea sitting by the fire and enjoying the beautiful. The whole ambiance is great here during the holidays. Lots of fun activities for the whole family including ice skating, snores by the fire... guided tours, activities and more. The restaurant serves delicious meals, the bar has a cozy atmosphere that serves yummy drinks, the gift shops are filled with cutest Christmas merchandise which I took advantage of 50%off after Christmas Day. A very nice place to spend a few days with family or just as couples, check them out.
