About Summerdale Campground
Summerdale Campground is a nice quiet campground right outside the Yosemite entrance gates. The hosts are friendly and helpful and treat guests like a friend who came back to relax after a long trip. A pretty creek runs along the side of the campground and a small market in the town of Fish Camp is close by if anything is forgotten. The campground has clean pit toilets, several potable water spigots and no showers. The bathrooms are very clean and there is no smell. Some sites are private, have a trail to the creek or river and offer a nice view of deep holes for soaking. A 10 minute walk leads to a waterfall and water hole for swimming, which is highly recommend. The creek can be heard at night and makes falling asleep nice. The campground is close to the southern entrance of Yosemite and a great place to stay. Keep a clean campsite because a bear was reported in camp. Wasps may be many and make cooking near impossible.

In Summerdale, a lovely creek can be found as well as the two best campground hosts on Planet Earth: JIM and HOLLY! HOLLY and JIM! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

We love this campsite! It's about 1.2 miles to the entrance of Yosemite. The camp host and his wife are the nicest people. The campsites are clean, and we love listening to the creek at night run through. Makes for falling asleep nice. Highly recommend Summerdale.

Great campground close to the southern entrance of Yosemite. My one concern was there were sooooo many wasps, it made it near impossible to cook. :-(
