I have a small 20lb chihuahua terrier mix. He has been known to bite when he's really afraid of something as all dogs can do. It's really that he was abused and my wife and I rescued him. For three years I've worked with him to avoid any biting in the future. I made it known to the Petco employee "Krystal" at the Folsom location in California. Real quick I was warned not to take Sammie(my pup) to Petco by a friend. She said they were unprofessional. Well I should have listened. First off no one notified my wife or myself that they don't even ATTEMPT to groom dogs that may bite. I say "may" because it's unlikely Sammie would actually bite someone. Especially after all the training I've taken him through. At least tell people that you don't take dogs that exhibit anxiety or aggression. I drove all the way down there and waited just for "Krystal" to tell me with a super shitty attitude that they don't groom dogs that may bite. i asked them if they had a muzzle and she said no. In Petco they don't have muzzles? That's news to me! I even offered to muzzle him myself and she said no. I wouldn't have had as big an issue if "Krystal" wasn't as rude as she was. She made it seem as if I did something wrong by notifying her my dog has anxiety. We rescued Sammie from a horrible situation so I will not be shamed. I have done my best to get Sammie where he is. If you don't want to get bit maybe you should work at McDonalds. I warn you though "Krystal", the grills are hot. You may get burned but that's just part of the job. In every occupation there can be a threat or incident that can occur. I am convinced that the people Petco hires are there for a paycheck and that's it. At least this "Krystal" is. She didn't seem too interested in doing her job anyway. My thoughts are she is just a lazy, entitled, arrogant, good for nothing employee who can be easily replaced. And she will be someday because people like her don't last. Again this is not about Petco's policy so much as it is how they go about enforcing it. In the end I wasted time and gas for nothing. And for the people who will say just go to the vet....... I don't always have $300+ on hand to do that. Petco was $31 before taxes. I guess you get what you pay for. Avoid Petco like the plague. They don't care about your animals.

AVOID PETCO AND ASHLEY. I joined YELP just to write this review in the hopes of preventing your fur baby from trauma. I took my small, non-shedding to Folsom Petco to Ashley for routine grooming. 3 hours later I was called and told the grooming had been stopped because my do was aggressive. Henry, my 7 year old MalShi is timid and not aggressive at all. He has been groomed regularly through out his life and has never been anything but adored. I can only imagine what Ashley did to him to make him fight back. He would not lash out without feeling as though he were being attacked. Save you self this pain and avoid PetCo and Ashley in particular

I brought my dog here last year to Vetco here at Petco because of the amazing team they have here. They always were concerned and gave the best care to my dog Cali. It was convenient to do the Vetco Premier because of her age, she had frequent visits and each visit was treated with care by the staff. Yesterday was the worst day and I brought in for an issue she had that morning and I unfortunately had to put her down, the doctors and staff talked me through it and made sure she was comfortable. They let me have as much time with her before and after. I highly recommend this vet and the premier package they offer, it is worth it. Thank you Vetco! Cali will be missed and she always loved going into petco smelling everything and grabbing bones!

I will definitely shop at the Petco in Folsom again. There was a marked difference between the way I was treated at the Folsom Petco and the Cameron Park Petco. At the Cameron Park store, I was treated as a nuisance. At the Folsom store I was treated with kindness, and they were so helpful.

I like it here. I especially like the rewards program. It's $20 a month but they give you $15 back in store rewards, so it ends up being $5 a month. It also covers the base charge for a vet visit. There's some other perks as well. I can find great products here for my animals and I'm pretty much exclusively shopping here now.

Most uncourteous grooming staff I've ever encountered. It's like they don't want to be there at all. The scheduling is only in store and cannot be same day, which is even more tedious requiring an extra trip. Pretty much anywhere else is better than this place. After 6 months of trying to work it out we're not going back.

I wanted to get my dogs nails trimmed. The website says no appointment needed. After they finished cutting one dogs nails they told me they didn’t have time. This is ridiculous. Multiple trips with the dog when would have taken 10 mins to do. And that wasn’t the first time I was turned away (the vet did it for me the past couple of times I needed them trimmed). I thought I would give them a second chance. With all the places in Folsom to groom your dog I’m surprised it’s still open with this kind of service. I would give a zero star if I could.

I used to live in Orangevale so I would take my pups to the Petco in Fair Oaks. I had only great experiences there. When I moved to Folsom I thought it’d be the same experience here. How wrong I was. The grooming staff has not been particularly kind. One time it was passive aggressiveness today the person I talked to just seemed angry at me. I had someone with me and she pointed it out too. I’m glad other people have had good experiences but I’m definitely not coming back.

As much as I love petco... I was very sad with how they deal with customer service. I booked a grooming for my maltipoo, and as were walking into the store for our 3:00 grooming appointment, they had called me at 2:52 and cancelled our appointment since she was "overbooked". There was no apology, no compensation, nothing. She said "I've been working on dogs all day." Didn't really have much sympathy since she cancelled 8 minutes before our appointment and did not one thing to make up for it. As I have worked in customer service, you learn that you will do anything to make the customer happy, it doesn't matter what or how u feel, you just have to make it right for the customer (however that looks). Just unfortunate because I've never had a bad experience with petco until today.

No fresh step non-clumping letter. Very frustrating. I want them to bring back the big bags and they went to small a while back. Now all of a sudden there's none..
